"Learn his language then. The first barrier of unity is the inability to communicate," McCoy simply said to Grif, as though it were of little consequence. To Vader however, on the other hand, that conversation seemed to be one that the doctor found a little less inane.
"The Dark Side, huh? Sounds friendly enough, but no dice. I'm a doctor, not a dictator. If the Federation made a habit out of stepping over everything in its path, cleansing what it deems to be impurities, and boasting power bred for war... then we'd become just as bad as the dictators of our past who fell at the hands of their own grandeur and went down in history as a villain," he responded, shaking his head, before looking at Vader straight in the eye, or at least meeting his gaze, "If you're such a man, then I can only hope, for your own sake, that you'll realize the error of your ways before your Empire becomes one of many to fall."
McCoy spoke with genuine conviction, not as a threat, but as a true belief. He didn't even hold any malice toward Vader personally, not wanting to claim to know of his world, and to that end, once again stood between him and the fire that Meceliss seemed insistent on fanning.
"Alright, alright, let's cool it. Even if you don't like it, right now you're both on the same side, and it'd be... uh, illogical to skirmish when you all have the same goal in mind, as Spock would say."

“Eh... learning a new language seems like too much work. Lopez is a robot anyways, it’s not like he has feelings or whatever.” Grif said before taking a sip of his beverage.
After a moment of silence from the Red Soldier, he would look up to McCoy yet again once Vader seemed to have stormed off.
“So do you guys like fight aliens and shit?”

“Diplomacy? How in the hell will diplomacy work when you’re fighting the enemy?! They could be terristas! Or vampires! Or even Blues.”![]()
"As I said, there is much to learn of my world. It would be a daunting task, and I cannot guarantee you would even be allowed to remain regardless," Spock simply said to Mizelia, still speaking like a machine, cold and meticulous, but not out of any sort of malevolence. There was not much more he could say at that moment, at least before Sarge poised his own questions about the ship's offensive capabilities, eliciting a tilted head from the First Officer.
"Enemy? I'm afraid I know not of what you speak. Regardless, the ship is mainly equipped with long-range phasers and, if extra firepower is needed, photon torpedoes, but fortunately, it is rather rare that there is any event in which weaponry must be used at all, as a dose of diplomacy is generally what is needed to remedy a given situation," he said, as though deliberately contrasting the soldier's gung-ho attitude with an edge of disapproval toward violence.
