The urge to fight was now nearing overwhelming levels when the enemy team's car drove by and their goons advanced. He had sidestepped when the car zoomed by, his nerves shaken by the futuristic vehicle. He had definitely underestimated his enemy, and it wasn't exactly a fair fight since he didn't have his blade with him. He swore he'd tear them to shreds if he did...
Just at that thought, he remembered that he still had a sharp glass shard that he had looted from the fallen vending machine back at the tower. He reached a hand into his vest and retrieved it. It glimmered in the sunlight like a Bilgewater treasure. Flashbacks to the dreaded city came to his mind once again, and with it, a hunger for revenge.
Of his opponents, the one that pissed him off the most was Medb, the one who was referred to as the 'queen'. She had a condescending attitude and riding crop, as if she intended to control everyone she came across. Just like a captain. Who cares about the plan? He just wanted her dead. But that would be difficult since she drove away.
In an attempt to stop himself from acting rashly, he imagined his enemies being crushed by the fallen buildings, a sight he would be delighted to see.
Snapping back to reality, he looked down at Dagran, who had come to his side. Slightly warmed that the closest person he could call a comrade was still with him, his usual scowl lightened up and he offered a hand to the mercenary, helping him to his feet. When the spider-woman announced that it was time to flee, Pyke scanned the field before taking action. He noticed that the rope guy was knocked down, and that both the suited man and blonde woman were in a bind. He grimaced a bit at some sudden realization and then his eyes moved onto the large creature called Rattlor. He'd never seen a snake man before, so this was an interesting encounter.
"Take this," the harpooner said urgently to Dagran, handing him the sharp piece of glass. "Try cutting the rope. I'll deal with the beast. After that, we gotta move." In order to give his crew a bit more time to breath while also running for the building traps, he sprinted forward, closing the gap between him and the snake man. When he got close enough, he let his mind go slightly to let the Deep lend him its power.
His right eye glimmered as he leaped forward, briefly materializing into Ghostwater and phasing through Rattlor.
Right at the spot where he initially dashed, a watery phantom of himself stood and also bounded toward Rattlor, attempting to return to Pyke's body. Upon impact, the force of it would cause the enemy to stumble toward Pyke. Meanwhile, Pyke, returning to a more tangible form, attempted to throw an uppercut punch at Rattlor's chin as a way to take advantage of his stumbling.
This would all happen in theory.

Chapter 2 - The Riders
They had waited long enough and the majority were set on following the plan. “I think we’ve sat around long enough. Everyone. We’re heading out. But before that, Bossk...” On cue the large lizard man removed a piece of paper from his pouch and sprawled it out on one of the larger tables.
It looked to be a map of some sort of where they were. “Yeah sorry about that, it’s pretty shit. Only one we could find was in a brochure so obviously not everything’s up to scale, but Bossk here as made some improvements.” She pointed to the other side of the map where police station had been written in read. “That’s where we’ll find the Riders. Probably think having the police station as their HQ is cute.”
“Weren’t you going to try and make that our HQ?” Matt asked sheepishly only to be met by a glare from Ashley that quickly shut him up.
“So, we just make a beeline for the station and bring them to…” Akande paused. “Er, where are the buildings where the traps are, Bossk?”
Bossk pointed to the north west area of the map. “Like the boss said, maps only really good a basic look of the area, but I’ve started to learn this city like the back of my own hand. I’ll get you where you need to be don’t worry.”
“Speaking of us,” Dhaos replied looking around at the group. “Right now we are quite many in our group, it will be hard to get through the city without being detected.”
“As it turns out, we may have a solution,” Moira said, pointing to an area near the Tower on the map, then a building surrounded by forest up st the top. “There’s a shopping district right here...as well as a factory up here. The former may have supplies, and the latter is either filled with weapons or a possible hideout for the Others. Some of us can investigate both places and stock up on supplies. Such a large group requires more resources than we had on hand.”
“Considering the distance,” Dhaos spoke aloud. “How will we know to regroup?”
“When you hear a loud ass explosion and smoke filling the air,” Ashley responded with a triumphant smirk.
“I see...but will we be able to navigate this city without...Bossk was it?”
“He’s not the only one who’s been out there,” Nadine spoke aloud. “Most of us from the team can get by. Well...except for Matt.” She pointed over to Matt who seemed to be ready to defend himself.
“H-Hey! Someone needed to be here and look after the fort you know? Besides not like any of you could have managed to pull off the stuff I did here.”
“Yeah yeah, you’re a really special part of the group,” Ashley replied waving him off.
“We did spend a fair amount of time out and about before falling back here,” Moira added. “Though not entirely explored, the city is somewhat familiar. Besides, we had to collect supplies somehow.”
“Well, I certainly trust you all to get us where we need to go,” Akande said merrily. “And once we get to the police station, I suppose we figure out from there how to get them to the trap?”
“Indeed. In the meantime, if there are no further questions...perhaps it is time to head out.”
“Oh trust me,” Ashley assured Akande. “Getting them to follow us is not going to be hard. But you’re right I think it’s finally time for us to do this.” Ushering everyone into the elevator the group returned back to the ground floor and lead by Bossk found an area where they could leave the tower without setting off any traps.
Once outside though they were met by a desolate wasteland. Once upon a time the city had no doubt been beautiful, but for one reason or another it now laid in ruin. Cracked pavement and ruined cars among other debris was strewn across the streets. “Alright we got the game plan. One team heads to the mall, another to the factory and a third one will head and get the main plan into action. I want to be at ground zero when we kill those fuckers and Bossk has the detonator, everyone else is free game. So make up your mind because the longer we stand out here in the open the quicker something will kill us. Let’s go.”

❝ ... suppose I'll head over to the factory. ❞ Nishiki figured to go along with this for now. A part of him felt a gut feeling with not being able to readily contribute to the main plain, as much as he personally didn't want to admit that to himself. On a better note, there might be something worth while from going to the factory with some few others.

"Understood..." Ashe spoke before attempting to cross through the bushes. His steps were slow and precise determining where he should step to to make the least amount of noise possible. Ashe has had to do stealthy things before so it came to no surprise just how careful he was being when given the task of making as little noise as possible. Using both hands to push away troublesome brush branches while he focused on getting through.

❝ Shit- ❞ Nishiki cursed to himself in a low voice moments before he tripped over a snag in the bushes. He was definitely not the type of person to be wandering an environment like this. So much that he practically found himself tripping over something so minimal. At the very least it didn't feel like he hurt himself that bad over a minor fall, carefully lifting himself back up onto his feet as if nothing happened. It did take him a bit to do so with only the use of his left hand for some reason, but what's done is done.
❝ Goddamn bushes... ❞ Nishiki grumbled to himself in a hushed tone, briefly patting any dirt that got on his clothes before continuing onward.

"Ah yes cautious would be the best approach. After all how fast we are isn't going to matter if we get caught..." Ashe spoke seeming to agree with the idea of being a bit more cautious considering the situation they were in.

As Moira said, it didn't take long at all for them to make it to their destination in a clearing.
The imposing factory loomed above them all, showing early signs of rot and decay. Clearly, it had been one of the first places forgotten about by the original citizens when whatever wiped them out had started. The metal exterior, which would once have been described as hi-tech, was now rusting, with loose panels in various places hanging by a few bolts. The occasional graffiti tag could be seen here and there, and external metal walkways on the buildings were broken, with huge gaps.
Moira held her arm out, as if to halt the others momentarily. Vanishing into her smoky haze again, she left for a few moments, before returning as abruptly as she had vanished. "Not a single Other in sight," she said. "Good thing for us, for that means the theory that this is their base is incorrect."
"Though that does mean we still have to find it, don't we?" Akande asked.
"That's a given. But for now, at least we can stock up on some weapons until that time arrives. And believe me when I say that we absolutely need them." That being said, Moira ushered their little group towards the entrance. Once they arrived, they were greeted by an odd scene: the large metal doors to the entrance had been completely blown apart, and the pavement inside had a noticeable skid-mark. "So, the other teams had been here...let's hope they left us something behind."
It was a stark contrast to the exterior of the building, as the interior was highly futuristic. Even so, the eerie silence matched the outside perfectly, with all activity frozen in time, as if the metal doors had preserved the inside of the factory in time. Row after row of advanced machinery filled the entire area, which seemed relatively unscathed. Whoever had been in here clearly had not stayed for very long, though they had left an impact. Near the entrance, a few computer screens had been smashed, and some machines had been damaged, and most importantly, an augmented motorcycle lay on the other side of the room.
"I wonder..." As Moira went off to inspect the bike, you were now free to explore the factory. There was a hallway out to the right of the room, in case you didn't want to look around here much. And, if anything, maybe there would be something of value outside?

"Hmm.. I suppose checking the main room here would be wise to start with. Perhaps there's something among all this machinery we can use as weapons..." Ashe spoke to himself as he decided to check out some of the machinery. He figured he could find something of use among all this machinery.

'Fingertips...? They're poking out from behind that large machine there. I should be careful.' Ashe thought to himself stopping in place. Suspecting a possible trap Ashe decided to first focus on the area around the large machine trying to see if he could see anything else out of the ordinary around the large machine. Since he was alone currently he knew he had to play it safe and cautious.

'Seems clear...' Ashe thought to himself as he considered his next action carefully. Perhaps seeing what exactly those fingertips led to would be the best option for him. Slowly he crept closer to the large machine in an attempt to see what exactly was behind it where the fingertips poked out. His movements were slow and cautious as if he were expecting something to happen any second now.
