A Clue in the Knight [A Gotham Inspired RP]

Premise
Gotham City. A dead-end town. It's the crime and corruption capital of the world, but its home. Whether you're a crook, a cop or just caught in the crossfire, Gotham City has been your playground since every since you left behind your playsets, and you've spent your whole life trying to either clean it up or make it that little bit dirtier.

From the outside, Gotham looks like another town that's about to cannibalize itself, clearly unable to keep its gangs and nutjobs in check. Someday soon it'll pass the point of no return and just fall apart at the seams. By the looks of things, that day will come sooner than you think.

But as its residents will soon find out, not all is as it seems in the Bat's City... and soon, things won't be so cut and dry...

Mechanics

In this RP, characters from other canons will find themselves in Gotham, stripped of their powers, equipment and memories. As part of the Illusion, they now believe themselves to be part of Gotham, and that they always have and always will be. Each chapter, one citizen will regain their memories of their lives before Gotham, using their experience to help unravel the source of the Mad Town. They will have to keep their new memories secret, however. Should they start telling stories of another world, they might find themselves in Arkham...

Rules​

2. Try to keep things Civil. As GM, I will have final say in all disputes, but I doubt I'll need to​
3. Players of all abilities and lengths are welcome but try to avoid image spamming. No more than 3 images/gifs per post​
4. Try to post once per chapter. If your character falls 2 or more chapters behind, they will be killed off to keep things moving. The only true law in Gotham is the law of the battlefield, and he who falls behind is left behind.​

Gotham Resident Biography:
Charlie Scotts was a brilliant mechanic & programmer. One day, he was blamed for stealing ideas of technologies from Wayne Enterprises, which caused him to have a bad reputation and be scorned. Since then, he has had a grudge for them, and has began to talk less and less, even after such news subsided.
Penguin recognised his talents and recruited him. He worked his way up and eventually became the Communications Officer for organised crime, developing great loyalty towards Penguin in the process. He seems satisfied with working behind the scenes, because he knows that he's more dangerous on the inside than in the streets.

Gotham Res. Skills:
He possesses great mechanical aptitude, capable of creating lifelike animal drones to spy on every nook and cranny of the city, their programming allowing them to act like actual animals. His animals of choice are cats and ravens, the former preferably black, but he branches out into other fur colours to avoid suspicion and broaden things.

With the above trait comes a great hacking ability. As communications officer, he does need to tap into as many voices as possible.

He has great skill in hand-to-hand combat, but he does prefer weapon usage, possessing skill in dual-wielding many weapon types.​

Throughout her childhood, the crime that runs rampant through Gotham always seemed to target Shirley in general. Petty thieves would rob her home, a bank hiest always happened the day she went to the bank, and she was never too far from an explosion. With crime as a constant issue in her life, she became determined to clean up Gotham. She joined the Gotham PD and rose to the status of detrctive, where she now works to hunt down the criminal underbelly of the Mad City.

Gotham Resident Name: Liam Anderson

Gotham resident age: 32

Gotham Resident Bio: The only survivor of his orphanage, Liam was taken by a cop that he grew close to and treated him like a son. He was raised by him and excelled at school and got good grades. When he was in college, his adopted father was shot and died in a shootout. Though going for voice-acting, he changed his profession to cop to follow in his adopted father's footsteps.

Gotham Resident Name: Harry Thomas Edwards

Gotham Resident Biography:

A rich man with an intellectual mind, Harry was unfortunately a victim of a many robberies due to his gentlemanly, polite personality and big wallet. Although initially, he only put up more security and decided to hide away in his house drinking tea and reading books alone, eventually, he decided that enough was enough. Harry joined up on the police force, and became determined to clean up the city and keep his money safe once and for all.

Nowadays, although he is polite and competent at his job, he always seems a little distant from others, sometimes even ignoring orders and doing what he think is right. Although he hasn’t quite failed yet, this meant his co-workers and even the crowds are usually a bit suspicious of him.

Disguise, spying and other stealth fields are his most competent, although his deduction and investigation skill is quite good as well, since he’s a detective. Due to his clothing being quite restrictive, he is generally bad at unarmed combat, but is skilled with melee combat and is familiar with firearms. Also quite smart.​

Resident Appearance:

Tall and muscular, with long blonde hair and bright blue eyes. His hair usually stays down, but is very well kept, despite being full of volume. Handsome and with a friendly aura about him, even in the formal pinstripe suit that he wears.

Gotham Resident Biography:

Born to a lower-class family in Louisiana, Gene joined up with the Dixie Mafia in Mississippi in his teens. At some point about three years ago, he fled the South for Gotham City, but it is unclear as to why. Rumors vary, ranging from committing a string of serial murders, plotting coups or assassinations against the leaders of the mafia, variois acts of arson...his reason for leaving is shrouded in mystery, and Gene himself will never give you the truth. He's earned himself an established spot in Penguin's organization, as his top interrogator.

Gene is highly charismatic, and highly intelligent as well, especially in psychology. He knows how to break someone down or to get on their good side, as his charm and looks make him out to be immediately trustworthy. He's proficient with guns and knives, preferring machetes and shotguns as his weapons of choice.​

Resident Appearance: wears large blue framed glasses. Often wears baggy clothes like her old Gotham Goliaths hoodie that used to belong to her sister. Dark skin. Lanky and has long unruly black hair.

Gothan Resident Name: Clara Clover

Gotham Resident Age: 35

Gotham Resident Biography: Born to an Indian immigrant mother and a Gothamite father Clara and her younger sister Claire had a quite normal and happy upbringing. Despite being a working class family the two daughters were given everything to excel and make something of themselves. Claire had always been the over achiever and was set to reach new heights, before her life was tragically cut short when she was murdered in cold blood one night when she was walking home from the library. Her murder was never solved.

This caused Clara to dedicate herself to her studies and to achieve her goals to be part of the police force so that crimes like her sister would get a resolution.

Resident Appearance:

A young woman that stands at 5'5" with tan skin, amber eyes, and light blonde hair. Dresses in either the outfit above or a simple hoodie and jeans if she feels like it.

Gotham Resident Age: 28

Gotham Resident Biography: The youngest of two children, Rhea was the troublemaker and without her older brother, likely wouldn't have gotten out of a couple sticky situations. They still remain close to this day, even as her brother left town some years ago and did something with his life, while she remained stuck but relatively happy living her life to the fullest. To some degree. What's the point of fixing something if it ain't broke? This is the city she grew up in with her big bro, grime and all, so may as well leave it like it is right?

Rhea, despite her easygoing and somewhat energetic and loud personality, is alright when it comes to having to sneak and be stealthy, knows basic if somewhat street level fighting, and isn't afriad to bust a few heads with a bat or crowbar. Oh, and she likes to steal and cause general trouble and discourse whenever possible, if not kept in check that is.

Resident Appearance: She is of hispanic origin with dark brown hair and a tan complexion. She wears black t-shirts and jeans, going for a more casual lock then most who worked for the PCPD police. She also like to wear a wrist band ties in her hand. She stands at a modest 5'5 inches tall and doesn't mind anything.

Gotham Resident: Aurora Diaz

Gotham Resident Bio: Aurora grew up with her very catholic parents and was raised as such. When her father was killed by some thugs, she got interested in becoming a forensics expert and help solve the crimes. She met Liam at work and they have a small workplace romance, but they keep it a secret from most, though it is very obvious.

Makoto was born to Middle-Class Gothamites, in a family who always wanted a son. As such, despite being a girl, she is often forced into dressing as a boy by her parents. Forcing soon became subconscience as Makoto learned to live with it. Deep inside, she still does want to live as a girl, but Makoto will soon learn that such desires are small in the grand scheme of things.

When she entered Gotham Academy, she found herself joining the Soccer Club, where she fancied herself one of their best players, while maintaining great grades, the face of a star student. One day, she stumbles upon an unapproved, underground school Club - the Detective Club. This club was bent on solving mysteries in and out of the Academy, which peaked her curiousity. Makoto wanted to delve in, and she soon corrupted herself into becoming a closet Conspiracy Theorist. After learning about tales of a Detective from another part of the country - a man known as The Question - she decides to adopt his name and design motif to spread conspiracies through the deep web.

These days, Kid Question, as we shall call her to avoid confusion with the actual mantleholder, is actively lurking out in the night of Gotham, trying to see conspiracies with her own eyes.

Resident Appearance:
A rather well built, but slim woman with long, braided blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. Her skin is a pale white color, making blending in more difficult had her figure not been shrouded in dark, red clothing. She is often carrying around at least one knife openly, with who knows how many others hidden away.

Kidd Wilder (Better known as 'Kid')

Gotham Resident Biography:
Kidd Wilder grew up on the streets, raised by Vagrants to become a Vagrant. Thus, she did whatever she could to get by, whether it be swindling or begging for cash, or sometimes pickpocketing those who seemed to have pockets too full for her tastes. However, as time went on, making a living this way, as a scavenger became more and more difficult. Gotham's streets, as unfriendly as they were had begun to swarm with gang activity, and those who were potential targets for her pickpocketing or swindling tactics would often carry a more oppressing aura about them. They had the kind of protection she would have difficulty evading if she were caught.

Thus, she began to seek out work amongst the streets of Gotham. Naturally someone with her record and background couldn't get a legitimate job, at least one that was legal. In the end, it ended up doing small-time muggings, dressed in a blood red cloak, using hit and run tactics... Namely involving cutting away valuables with knives, either up close, or eventually... Throwing them, once she got the hang of it (she would often practice on her downtime... Aiming for fluttering bits of newspaper, or leaves... Becoming frighteningly profficient in her arts overtime).

She made enough to get by, to live off of... But it was hardly a lavish life, as she was often forced to move from place to place to evade any prying eyes set on her... As she knew how dead she'd probably be if she drew the wrong kind of attention on herself in a place like this. Inevitably though, she did catch the eyes of one such gang; the Red Hood Gang. However, instead of eliminating her, they recognized that she had no prior affiliation, and eventually took her in as a recruit, realizing her skills could prove to be usefull to them... If given time to hone and develop.

Kidd is skilled in espionage, disguise, stealth, and assassination. She is infamous around Gotham for her frightening skill with knives, not just in close quarters combat... But throwing them, lots of them, as if they were mere darts. She is also known to be quite the pickpocket, lifting wallets, and other items from unsuspecting passerby with little effort. However, naturally, size matter when it comes to her uncanny pickpocketing abilities. An item more sizeable is less likely to be stolen in this way, without some help of course.​

Resident Appearance:
A caucasian male of about 1.85 meters tall. He has short, light-brown hair and somewhat a sharp facial structure. He is mostly seen in his GCPD uniform.
Gothan Resident Name: William van Velden
Gotham Resident Age: 35
Gotham Resident Biography:
William was born in America to a foreign family. His family was in the low middle class. His father was a police officer and his mother an administrator at a bank. When he was old enough, he joined the Gotham City Police Department.
Gotham Res. Skills?
Well developed firearm skills, specifically semi-automatic pistols and revolvers. He isn't really a fan of rifles but does use them when the situation requires him to.
Decent CQC
His English is pretty decent, though with an accent that is neither British or American, though somewhat leaning towards American.

Charlie had hands on experience with working with cars, and facisonation of taking them apart to build other valuable things. Unfortunately, he was caught tinkering with a old junker car the car shop wanted to sell and ended up fired from his job. Ended up a punk on the street willing to do any odd job. Ended up in Penguin's Crime empire.
