Ello! My name is Inkedaway, feel free to call me Ink, or whatever you wish! I feel a bit ashamed to say I can not, for the life of me... figure out how to set my avatar. So if someone can kindly let me know if it's just part of the approval system, that'd be lovely.

A bit about me. I live in Europe, am mostly a night owl, and enjoy media, stories, art and video games. I enjoy character creation, both the art design of it all, and the writing aspect. It's been a hot minute since I last rped outside of the dnd table, but I'm really hoping to jump in. I miss it dearly and would like to find some people I can poke at.

Aside that, I also dabble in video games, as mentioned. FFXIV is one of my big ones, but I also deeply enjoyed BG3 for example. Hope to be able to nest here!

Hello and welcome to Storyteller's Circle, Ink!

I feel a bit ashamed to say I can not, for the life of me... figure out how to se my avatar. So if someone can kindly let me know if it's just part of the approval system, that'd be lovely.

No need to feel ashamed! That is indeed a feature that is initially blocked, but it is tied to the initial spambot verifying period, as opposed to approval to RP. You have cleared the former, as you are not a spam-bot (or at least are a highly advanced one if you are 🤖) you can now edit your avatar and profile banner. You can find those under account details:

As for your introduction; I understand what you mean about character creation. It might be a more discrete container than an entire world, but making a character is no less a wondrous act of creation than world building. Similarly, it's almost as self-recursive as imagination itself: The deeper you go the more the breadth still to fill expands. I think you'll be in good company here. As for the approval process, you're already going through it. Simply interact around a bit and in as little as a few hours you'll be set for full access; we're just after a showing of good faith.

Let me know if you have any questions and I hope you have a great time in Storyteller's Circle!

Sincerely,
Dashmiel

Google XD I was looking for an urban fantasy rp forum, which isn't this... but.

I also see in another thread you found us while seeking urban fantasy. If you also like crime drama and werewolves, I have a bulletin board post that may interest you (I'm super biased, as I am a participant and co-DM for that roleplay, full disclosure!):

Chains of Retribution - A Dark Urban Fantasy Roleplay.

Welcome to STC! What are you considering writing about?
I usually like to dabble in urban fantasy. High fantasy is fun too, but I see way less of the former, than the later (I used to get a very good fix of the later through dnd, but my group dissolved so...). I really enjoy character development and am a fan of romance. However... I always feel both of these things works better when there's an actual plot the characters can work on, in order to not over saturate with romance. Romance for romance's sake never keeps my attention. I like a plot - it can be a simple plot like exploring a haunted house, but something has to be going on to trigger character scenes and make the characters change and keep things fun and interesting for me to really enjoy it.

I like the different species that fantasy allow me to dabble in. I like different species mixing and learning to cooperate with each other. Put a Kobold or a goblin, or a half orc and a human or an elf and let them get close and become friends in dnd, for example. A human and a non human are always fun because of the fish out of water experience. I tend to favor comedy with my drama and angst.

I can't think of a lot off the top of my brain but... yeah.
You have cleared the former, as you are not a spam-bot (or at least are a highly advanced one if you are 🤖)
Shhhh... don't let them know that, you'll blow my cover if you do.

I will 100% be checking it out. I do in fact like both of those!

Hello! I think everyone else has covered the important things, I'm just dropping in to say welcome as well. Hope to see you around!
