Lydia Martin

Though Lydia didn't normally do jobs for money and wasn't as free-spirit as the others around her, she knew that helping someone was the right thing. It also helped that she didn't want to see someone else die. While she normally would have left something this simple alone, the fact that the situation reminded her of the Ghost Riders from her home world. " I would also like to join you. I don't need the money either. Helping the hospital open a spot and making sure the girl remembers is payment enough."

Urbosa smiled, looking at the group who had approached them. Good, so this mission would have quite a few takers. "Yes, I'm the one offering the mission. I'm waiting to see if there are a few more takers, then I'll start the meeting. In the meantime, feel free to take a seat. I ordered an appetizer for you all to enjoy while we wait." It was a nice little meat and cheese platter-nothing too fancy, but nice enough considering the state Ash was in. "I can order you all drinks, too, if you'd like."

Geneva, meanwhile, looked at the blonde man who had arrived. He looked...familiar. But she couldn't seem to put a name to his face. "Uh...hey! Nice to meet you!" She extended her hand towards Lindel. "I'm Geneva."

Marcus Fenix was browsing through the world of Ash, fending for himself with his trusty Lancer Mark 2 Assault Rifle, killing any creatures that tried to kill him and any kind of people that act like bandits and try to raid his makeshift camps. At this point he was considered a nomad, wondering through towns and taking jobs while making his living travelling the baren world.

That was, however, until he arrived at the City known as Charon which seemed familiar to him. It reminded him of Jacinto somewhat before they sunk it to defeat the Locust, or so they thought. Walking around the town, he spotted some flyers around the walls and grabbed one, taking a look. "Hmm. Sounds like someone here has some work to do. Beats sitting out there fending for myself surrounded by fucking plants and bandits that want my ass." He muttered to himself as he located the Cog-and-Sword bar to find the two that posted the job offer. Eventually he did, and discovered that there were three others there alongside the two that put up the job offer, and approached them.

"So you two put up the job huh? Count me in. I'd be more than happy to have a change of pace instead of just surviving in shitty make-shift camps in a baren wasteland."

Ragnarok Mission: Present from the Past
Part One: A New Lead
Life on Ash didn't stop. No matter what else happened within the Multiverse, Ash continued on, needing aid from the brave people who volunteered to fight against The Order and whatever other evils targeted the planet. People came and went, and one person who arrived had made her presence known in a very short amount of time. Quite literally, an eight foot tall woman with voluminous red hair decked out in vibrant jewels and colors stood out very easily, but Gerudo Champion Urbosa had a striking personality to match. She never really stayed in one place, either; helping out on the front, or in the hospital, there was always something for her to do. And it made sense, considering she had led an entire nation of warrior women before coming here.

At this current day, Urbosa had gone to the hospital, and was working on helping a certain patient. From how things were sounding, she was not happy.

35b3b9f64c0f1a43f09478c907daac08.gif

"You're really going to tell me that in the entire history of this planet, not a single person has gone by the name St. Claire? I find that hard to believe."

The clerk on hand pulled at his collar, unsure of how to respond. "U-um, Miss Urbosa, ma'am...we looked on the day she was admitted. No family, no records...nothing. It's as if she appeared out of thin air!"

"There has to be something you can give me. This poor vai has been all alone ever since those two voe attending her took their leave." One of them, a Coalition man, had returned to Ash briefly to start research, but left shortly after, while his companion she hadn't seen for a while. From what she gathered, they had been pulled into some sort of incident similar to the one on Ash years ago-minus the ritualistic killings and explosions, fortunately. "Geneva deserves better than to spend the rest of her life in some hospital, and as much as I hate to say it, we need the space for others who have been injured."

"W-well, uh...maybe this will help." The clerk rushed into a room, and returned with a small box, offering it to Urbosa. "These are the items Geneva had with her the night she turned up in Charon. We've been holding onto them in case she wanted them, but..."

"...she can never remember to pick them up, can she?" Urbosa sighed, taking the box. "Well, any little thing helps." With that, Urbosa took her leave. All around her were the ill and injured, crammed into whatever space they could fit in. Doctors and healers worked endlessly to help, but there was still so much to do...hopefully by helping Geneva, a new room could open up. As important as it was to keep the poor girl off the streets while she suffered from memory loss, she couldn't stay here forever.

"Geneva?" She knocked on the door.

"Huh? Oh, come in." The patient sat on her bed, looking out her window. As Urbosa entered, she turned and smiled. "Oh, hello, Urbosa! How have you been today?"

Oh good, she remembered her. Urbosa smiled. "Fine enough, dear. Remind me, when was the last time I came by?"

Geneva giggled. "And they say I'm the one with memory issues...Yesterday, of course! I've been waiting to see you since then!"

Actually, Urbosa had stopped by half an hour ago. So Geneva must have forgotten that little tidbit. But Urbosa wouldn't bring it up. Instead, she sat down next to Geneva, handing her the box. "I found some of your possessions," she told the girl. "Maybe one of them will jump-start your memory?"

Geneva gasped, opening it up. "Oh thank you! I've been meaning to get these, but uh...you know." Inside, there was some money, as well as something in a navy blue pouch tied to gold string. Geneva picked it up, and opened it, letting the contents fall into her open palm.

8e31937890e65350dd5f1d0448ef1738--butterfly-wings-designer.jpg

"Is that...made from a butterfly wing?" What an unusual stone... "Did you have an interest in bugs, Geneva?...Geneva?"

Geneva wasn't listening. She she held the stone in her hand, running her thumb slowly up and down it. On her face was a look of shock, as if she had...remembered something? Urbosa hoped so. She quietly waited, until Geneva snapped back to reality, turning to Urbosa. "Vivaldi."

"...what?"

"Vivaldi! I don't know, I just remembered that word. I think it might have to do with who I was before I got here!" She got up, starting out the door. "I've gotta hunt it down!"

"Hold on there!" Urbosa grabbed Geneva by the arm, stopping her. "You are not doing this alone. Not with that memory."

"But...won't you help me, Urbosa?"

"Are you kidding? Of course! Now, let's find this...Vivaldi."

---

As it turned out, finding Vivaldi was not going to be easy. The only record of anyone with that name was someone from the Upper City, which wasn't exactly the most welcoming place for those below. If this was going to go right, they would need a few helping hands. So, Urbosa put up flyers around Charon, calling for anyone looking for a quick and well-paying job (out of Urbosa's own pocket, of course). One week later, Urbosa and Geneva were seated at the Cog-and-Sword bar, preparing to start their meeting. If you were looking for a quick job with a nice reward, this was the perfect place to get it. Just be warned...it may not be as easy as advertised.

(This mission is now open to join! You can join in at any time, really, though if you join in at a later point, you'd need a certain way to be introduced that I can help with. I'll get things started once a couple people post.)

The door to the bar swung open as a hunched man dressed in green sauntered in. Pang Tong hadn't been on Ash for that long, and the technology he had met here was unfamiliar to him. He had been grateful to the coalition for saving his life though, even if it meant that he was now part of the work force here on Ash. If he was going to be of any help though, he needed to familiarize himself with his surroundings. Too bad that involved annoying work. He was a peculiar looking one, with the lover half of his face covered by a cloth and walking around with what looked like a huge fan.

He walked up to where the crowd had gathered and from his 5'3 looked up at Urbosa. "Heard you needed a crew, figured with these people you're going to need someone with the smarts." He motioned to his head. "That's my forte, you see."

Marcus gladly took a seat next to Urbosa and started digging into the food that was provided for them. "For a new world, this place makes some good grub. The food back on Sera wasn't too bad, although most of the time it was emergency military rations which always tasted kinda shit. And the food I've had to scavenge on this planet from abandoned camps and hunting animals is disgusting." Marcus commented. He looked towards Urbosa and asked a question. "Hey. Is there any kind of organisation or someone I can work for? Been kinda stranded on this dead planet fending off Bandits, wild Creatures and that one random attack by a group of four Coalition Soldiers."

"I was a Soldier. Not anymore. Not since the COG fucking separated, not after it's leader decided to fuck us all in the back with some secret research facility/island bullshit, and certainly not after we decided to work with our close enemies to take down said island facility. So yeah. "Soldier type" is putting it lightly." Marcus exclaimed with a trace of anger and remorse in his voice. He really has gone through a lot of shit on Sera before retreating from it.

"Yeah. Wouldn't want to get yourself killed out there."

"So what does that make you? Some kind of big Coalition big-shot or something?" Marcus commented in a sassy tone. He had heard about the Coalition from his travelling on Ash, sometimes encountering a squad that mistook him for a bandit and attacked him. Small squad of four though, so wasn't too much trouble for him. "Oh yeah, Send my regards to your Coalition Soldiers when you eventually return back, yeah? I'd rather not have a small squad attack me again for no fucking reason."

Ah, so she didn't remember him after all. It was a given, what with her memory and all. He wasn't outwardly bothered by it, since he outlived most of his friends back before becoming a nomad.

...

Anyway, Lindel would give Geneva a smile, taking her hand and giving it a shake.

tumblr_oy8lafQtne1v6bs4yo2_400.gif

"I'm Lindel." he simply greeted, before his gaze landed on the rest in their group, their bickering causing a small chuckle to escape as he let go of Geneva's hand and sat at the table.

"Paycheck or no, you have my attention regardless." he shrugged.

@Yun Lee

Lindel...that sounded familiar. Ugh, stupid memory! Geneva scowled as she tried to remember who Lindel was. Meanwhile, Urbosa nodded at Pang Tong, seeing everyone had finally settled.

"It's simple, really, as long as things go right. We're trying to contact the family with the last name Vivaldi, who live somewhere in the Upper City. The only problem is, the Upper City has become far more strict in the past few days about who goes in and out. I'm not entirely sure why, but it causes a bit of a problem if we want to find our man."

"Hey, Urbosa, can I say this next part?"

"Be my guest."

Geneva took a deep breath. "Okay. So, our plan is, some of us try to go to the Upper City on our own. Preferably people who have ties to the Coalition or the UN, because of...um..."

"Doctor Maera's labs, dear."

"Yeah! That. Okay, and then others will go to the Outer City to see if we can find any information there." She leaned back, proud of what she remembered.

Urbosa smiled at the girl as well, before turning back to their group. "I will be going to the Outer City, and Geneva will be going to the Upper City. Decide where you'd be best suited for, and we'll head out."

Anyone familiar with Charon knew that the Upper City looked down on anyobe who didn't fit their idea of rich and classy, while many in the Outer City were happy to take advantage of those who didn't look like they could hold their own. Those were some good things to keep in mind while choosing your destination.

He wasn't sure if his name really jogged anything, but he rose a brow at the scowl she wore. Maybe something came up? He could always try and help ease the process along, but...

"If that's the case then I'll join the group going to the Upper City." he spoke up. He was new to the Coalition himself, but the mage wanted to make sure Geneva remained safe, since she was a former charge of his to some capacity.

"Yeah!

"Hmm... In that case. I'll go with Urbosa towards the Outer City. Considering my life so far on this planet, the Outer City is somewhat similar when I arrived here before taking this job, and I'm able to hold my own. Like I have no choice when certain authorities like to attack me for no reason so I've gained enough ammo." Marcus stated before finishing up his food.

"Anyone dares to attack you, they'll have me to deal with, Urbosa."

"You can count on me to hold my own as well, Urbosa. I'm not about to let you down." Ryu said with a clenched fist.
'Maybe... maybe there is something along the way that can help me be freed from the Satsui no Hado...' Ryu thought to himself.
