Sandbox Ragnarok: Phase Two

"Who mentioned anything about a human male?" Phil taunts as he smacks the Nemetrix as it was called, causing him to be surrounded by vines and such. This collection of flora grew larger...

"Much like you have ventured to different worlds, I have too, and I'd like you to meet the top of the foodchain in an alternate Earth, that which the locals call Godzilla!"

The magnificent reptile-shaped plant monster stood at 318 metres, approximately. Its neck possessed a collar with the Nemetrix's emblem.

All the mighty beast could do was roar, now that it had lacked all sapience. From its green, flora-based body, it unleashed a flock of wyvern-shaped beings from its body.

"I need one of you to help me reach the Nemetrix," Max adds, "this monster looks unstoppable at first glance, but I might be able to stop it if I turned him back human."

"Understood, Max." Trunks exclaimed as he prepared himself to attack. "Hmm. He's incredibly tall and I can feel some kind of power from this creature. It's best not to underestimate him."

"If That's all then leave it to us!" Goku said. "Let's go guys!"

"Goku. Remember way back in time when Krillin chopped off Great Ape Vegeta's tail with a Destructo Disc?" Trunks asked, looking towards Goku with a confident smirk. "Let's try that against this creature and maybe the damage would be extensive enough to make him change back. I have an idea on how to distract him for you. Me and Bardock will distract him while you attack from behind and strike his tail."

"Right behind you, son."

Bardock returned Super Saiyan and followed Goku toward the giant godzilla like creature as Torah followed behind.

"Bardock. Not sure if you heard what I discussed with Goku just. We'll distract the creature while he strikes from behind. From what I can see, his eyes don't look to be that well fortified with that skin of his. You aim for the left eye, I'll aim for the right?"

"Very well then." Ryu said with a nod. Clearly Marcus knew what he was doing.

Luger stood to the side and nodded "Right, better safe than sorry. Hopefully whatever was back there won't become a problem later."

"As much as I'd love to check out that commotion, we have our priorities already set right now; Escorting Urbosa to wherever she needs to go and only engage when we are engaged. Standard operation." Marcus exclaimed, definitely speaking like a Sergeant now as he continued walking alongside her. "Stay close and within radio contact."

"Understood, Max." Trunks exclaimed as he prepared himself to attack. "Hmm. He's incredibly tall and I can feel some kind of power from this creature. It's best not to underestimate him."


"Goku. Remember way back in time when Krillin chopped off Great Ape Vegeta's tail with a Destructo Disc?" Trunks asked, looking towards Goku with a confident smirk. "Let's try that against this creature and maybe the damage would be extensive enough to make him change back. I have an idea on how to distract him for you. Geneva shook her head in response to Lindel's question. "No, I don't remember anything! I don't even remember coming from the Upper City...all I remember is one word."

The guards were unimpressed by Pang Tong and Lydia. "No one gets in without a code," one reiterated firmly. The other looked up behind the group, and suddenly smiled and waved. "Doctor Xing! Welcome back!" If one were to look behind, they would see an...unusual figure arrive on the scene.

Dressed as a plague doctor with a goofy smile drawn on the mask, the doctor would be rather intimidating if he wasn't so short. He was barely about 5'6".

"Why, it's good to be back, my dear sirs!" Despite the abnormality of his outward appearance, the doctor had a very pleasant, youthful voice. "I've missed all my dear friends in the Upper City, and-oh, my! It appears my assistants have gotten here before me! That's just what I get for taking the scenic route..."

"You...you know these people, Doctor?"

"Indeed I do!" Doctor Xing gestured at each of them, one by one. "Here we have Mister Pang Tong, Miss Lydia Martin, Mister Lindel, and Miss Geneva St. Claire. Geneva is one of my patients, you see, and suffers from amnesia. These kind Coalition folks have been wanting to visit this place to see if she could get her memory back, and I thought to lend a hand."

Geneva raised her eyebrows. She couldn't remember a Doctor Xing...maybe he was unmasked at the time?

The guards, though, seemed to be eating this up. "Er...they, uh, don't know the code, sir..."

"The code!" Xing slapped his palm to his forehead. "Oh, I just knew I forgot something! But of course, it's 4582. You could let us all in, yes?"

"Oh, of course!" The guards stepped to the side, one of them swiping a keycard. The gates slowly opened, and a guard said, "Welcome to the Upper City."

Xing turned to the group and extendes his arm toward their destination. "Well, my friends...shall we?"

In the alleyway, Ryu would find a trio of thugs pinning someone to the wall. You couldn't really tell who, as they wore a green cloak. "You're done stealin' from us, you no-good thief! I'll make sure you're on the next shipment of cattle headed to the Emerald City!"

In this particular case, Pang Tong was not going to see a gift horse in the mouth and merely tipped his hat to the strange. "You're so right Doctor Xing! I was about to take this man's badge number so that I could bring him up with you personally, stroke of luck that you appeared when you did though! Truly!" With that he swaggered his way past the guard and into the Upper City

Following along, he kept close to Geneva. He found this a bit too convenient for his liking.

"Oh yes, my dear friend, yes indeed! If only I had woken up at the right time, then I would have accompanied you all!" The doctor gave the guards a wave as the gate shut behind them all.

"Um, excuse me!" Geneva rushed up besides Xing, hands on her hips. "Do I know you? I can't remember you, and yet-"

"Ah, my poor darling Geneva!" Xing put his hands on her shoulders, walking her forward with a hurry. "That amnesia really is getting to your head, hmm? A ha ha, no worries! I hae your medicine right this way!" Turning a corner so they were away from the guards' eyes and ears, Xing let go of her. "Okay, yeah. You don't know me, but I've been with you guys the whole time."

"Wait, what? But we only had a few signups!"

"Well yeah, cuz I didn't sign up! Jeez, what kind of...um, guy would I be if I couldn't go undetected? Anyways, I was in the area and figured we could help each other out. I got you guys into this city, and can tell you all I know, and in exchange, you help me and my friends out!"

"Um..."

"Sorry lady, no thinking about it. I already helped you, so you gotta help me. And if you don't, well...you really want to be on my good side, here." His tone stayed friendly, but it was clear Xing was not kidding around. "Got it? Good! Now, let's get going. Ask me amy questions you want, cuz I don't feel like rambling."

"Of course." Marcus responded. That was however when he caught the attention of a male which appeared to be wielding some kind of staff. Seeing the opportunity, Marcus approached him.

"Excuse me. What's the situation?" Marcus asked, keeping his Lancer close but not in a way to threaten him. Calm and composed.

"Woah, look out!" One of the thugs warned the others just in time, and they jumped away as Ryu lauched his attack. When the dust cleared, the cloaked figure was gone.

"The way I saw it he was innocent. You three aren't like that. I suggest you get out of here before I have to put you all down." Ryu said threateningly.

"Wasn't expecting to be saved, but I also wasn't expecting to get ambushed, either, so thanks." From behind Ryu, the cloaked figure made himself known.

"Not 'round these parts. I'm still a new entrant to the City." Marcus commented. "My bet is that whoever you're lookin' for is in that alleyway over there." He then pointed towards the alleyway in which he had heard commotion earlier. "Something was goin' on over there, so most likely your best bet to find whoever you're trying to find."

"Wasn't expecting to be saved, but I also wasn't expecting to get ambushed, either, so thanks." From behind Ryu, the cloaked figure made himself known.

"I wonder how those guys found me out? It wasn't like I was out in the open or anything."

"It doesn't matter how they found you. They did. My name is Ryu, what's your name?" Ryu said politely.

Urbosa nodded, impressed by Marcus' observation. "Ryu went back there, didn't he? Now would be a good time to check on him."

The three went to the alleyway, where sure enough, Ryu and the hooded man were.

"Crap! Archer, what the Hell were you doin'?! Ya can't just take off!"

Archer merely shrugged. "Hey, it wasn't my choice this time. I got dragged off by some goons."

"Y'know, I can't help but think ya ain't entirely blameless in this..."

Archer smiled. "Never said I was."

Urbosa cleared her throat. "Well, now that you've had a happy reunion, we should get going-"

"Wait!" The young man rushed in front of her, blocking her from leaving. "Ya can't leave yet! We can help you! That Vivaldi yer lookin' for...I know who he is!"

"Not like we have a choice in the matter. Pretty hard to unscratch someone's back after all." He wasn't keen on being caught in a scam so Pang Tong was going to keep an eye on this one.

Lydia sighed and decided to ask the question that nobody else had asked yet. " What exactly do you want us to do for you?" She asked, eyeing him warily.

"W-Well...okay, I don't know him personally. But I know he used to be in the Upper City 'til things went down. Bad things." He sighed in irritation, running a hand through his hair. "Crap, look, we need to get somewhere where we can talk. Never know who's listenin'. C'mon, I'll take you all to my place." He started off out of the alley, expecting them to follow him.

"Don't worry, we can help each other out. I can feel it." Lindel's question earned a chuckle. "Well right now, it's just me here. My buddies are elsewhere, meeting with your other guys."

"Y-You have us surrounded on both sides?"

"Well, yeah! Jeez, we're not stupid. And as for what we need, well...you'll see."

The Upper City was relatively peaceful, compared to the chaos and bustle all around the rest of Charon. The little group received an occasional funny look, but the presence of Doctor Xing seemed to put them at ease. The only thing really off in the area was a large amount of notices hung all over the walls of buildings.

"Go take a look," Xing said. "It'll make sense."

"W-Well...okay, I don't know him personally. But I know he used to be in the Upper City 'til things went down. Bad things." He sighed in irritation, running a hand through his hair. "Crap, look, we need to get somewhere where we can talk. Never know who's listenin'. C'mon, I'll take you all to my place." He started off out of the alley, expecting them to follow him.
