Titus, still inspecting his chainsword, glanced up at the noise of a girl zipping around. "Little one, get down from there. We don't know what they may have installed in this ship, best we do not tempt their patience further, at least until they. . .find themselves in a vulnerable position" Titus reprimanded the child in a tempered voice. He'd keep his chainsword drawn throughout the waiting period, sneaking glances at the shield to see if anyone returned.

Titus didn't know what the sergeant meant by 'blues'. Perhaps he was referring to the Tau? In any case, the warrior responded with a noble nod.

"Your tenacity is commendable, sergeant. I rarely see such fury from guardsmen - if you can muster it in the heat of battle, you may be a battle-brother yet."

"Many imperial citizens have never seen a chainsword. Astartes-pattern chainsword, a fine communicator of the Emperor's will," Titus commented on his blade, lifting it up to show the rest of the group like it was a show-and-tell segment. He seemed proud of the weapon, delicately handling it despite it's bulkiness and rough design. The marine tuned back into the conversation as they neared the end of their story.

"Telling war-stories to pass the time?" Titus chuckled deeply - the only sign of humor he's shown since awakening. "Reminds me of my days before becoming captain of the 2nd Company."

“Heh heh, well thank ya! Maybe one day when all this is over, you and I can kick some Blue ass together!” Sarge exclaimed in glee, finding Titus to be a better soldier than everyone on Red Team combined.

Well, besides Lopez.

“Sarge, why don’t we get weapons like this?” Grif asked as he continued to ogle the famed chainsword.

“Well maybe if you’d stop sittin’ on your ass and eating bon bons all the time, Command would feel more inclined to send us weapons like that.”

“Eh, nevermind then. Sounds like too much work.”

“How ‘bout you, Titus?” Sarge asked as he delivered a hard, yet friendly slap to the fellow soldier’s back. “You got any cool war stories ya wanna share?”

"Aww...okay!" Gumi wasn't fazed by Titus' reprimands, and happily floated down to about a foot above the ground, where she joined the little group. "We talking about where we come from? Well...back in the world I live in, a couple of years ago they made some virtual singers that weren't super popular. Some got popular later, though, but it didn't get big until Miku showed up. Miku was huge! Worldwide! Songs, concerts, albums, commercials, you name it, she did it! So they made more of us! Gakupo came first and was voiced by a pop star, then I came along!" She smiled fondly, remembering Miku. "Miku and I were best friends, almost like sisters! We sang together, performed together...life was awesome! And then..." She paused. Her voice was softer now. "...she vanished. No one knows why, or where. But it's okay! Wanna know why?" She was chipper again, eyes pratically sparkling. "I bet she might be in this world! Maybe this happened before somewhere else! I bet she's an intergalactic pop sensation by now!!!"

Gakupo bowed as he met the ship's captain. "Thank you for meeting with us, Captain. Sorry for all the trouble this has caused your crew-believe me, we never meant to be any trouble." He didn't like being referred to as a stowaway, but it seemed trust would have to be earned here.

Upon reaching the bridge, filled to the brim with ensigns, communications officers, and other crew members frantically working to restore the ship to fully functioning standards, scattered murmurs and beeps littering the air. The busy station barely even acknowledged the newcomers until after a few seconds, especially considering with their get-ups, they stuck out like a sore thumb. Confused and wide eyes gazed right at Sheila, Zero Two, Emily, and Gakupo, as well as Michael, though for different reasons.

After an awkward silent moment, the individual sitting in the center chair clasped his hands together, clearing his throat as he stood up. "What's the hold-up? Come now, everyone. There's hardly any time to waste just standing around. You've all got important jobs to do, don't you? That applies to you too, Helsman Detmer."

"Aye, sir. Apologies," came a meek voice from the corner, and with that, everyone attempted to return to their stations.

Turning around, the slender male walked toward Michael and the others, crossing his arms behind his back. "So, these are just some of the... inadvertent stowaways? And packed into our own little ship," he commented, eyeing the four up meticulously, his peculiar face perhaps a degree of unsettling to anyone unaccustomed to dealing with anything... nonhuman.

"Pardon my... wariness. I tend to be quite... circumspect about these matters," he spoke in a strangely elegant tone, but also meticulous, as though he were carefully choosing his words, "I am the Acting Captain onboard this ship, the USS Discovery. My name is Saru. I'm sure you all must have a lot of questions, just as I do."

To Michael, he spoke in a slightly hushed tone. "I trust that you are unharmed, Burnham? I could feel my ganglia... shiver while you were down there, as though something nearly happened down there."

The entire place was a technological marvel, like something she'd see in the resistance headquarters... Except, perhaps... Even more advanced than that. Her little brother, Navin, would have loved to see a place like this, considering his knack for wanting to pilot things. However, she had to remember she wasn't here on a tour or anything; she was here for a purpose after all.

She decided against an over the top salute, and instead gave the Captain a polite half-curtsy (she... Didn't quite learn how to do it properly yet) before she began speaking, taking point from Gapuko.

"Yes... Thank you, Captain. I'm glad we can talk things out this way..." She began.

Though, seeing that the Captain appeared to have sensed something went wrong in the bay, Emily figured she wouldn't beat around the bush too much about what occurred... It was important for both parties to stay truthfull, and she was going to try her best to uphold her end here.

39uAxYa.png

"Though... There was a little trouble in the bay, but... Your friend got everything under control." She said, giving Burnham a grateful look, alongside a smile.

Though, the moment was rather fleeting, as there were other matters on her mind, namely what she had told Elliot she would inquire about... Alongside other things. There was a brief pause before she spoke again, a more urgent tone in her voice.

"I don't mean to pry... But... Do you think there might be something interfering with certain... Powers?" She asked, frowning a little as she spoke.

"Speficially... Powers to open... Tears in space?... ... I'm asking for a friend in the hangar." She added, realizing how absurd this sounded saying it out loud.

Though, that was the way Elliot put it... And she wasn't completely sure what he meant by that, at least not right off the bat.

Titus pondered the question for a moment, wondering if he really wanted to answer. The old warrior let out a sigh, planting his chainsword in the floor and resting his hands upon the handle.

"I have many, many stories, sergeant."

"I've fought countless wars across the stars in the name of the Emperor and the Ultramarines chapter. I've set foot on worlds you would never imagine, purging alien and heretic alike and doing as much as I can to protect what we have built upon these worlds. The manifestation of mankind's tenacity, it's will to survive. It's never enough. My very last mission changed the course of my service forever."

"It was on the Forge World of Graia - a massive planet of the Adeptus Mechanicus, responsible for fueling the Imperial armies through mass production of blessed weaponry and grand machines of war. Graia was a cornerstone of the sector, having been the storing place of a Warlord-class Titan of the Morning Star Legion. Despite the Imperium's attempt to keep the world secure from hostile invasion, it could not stay safe forever. The Greenskins had found their way to it.

View attachment 2603

"Abominable xenos, they are. Warboss Grimskull had gathered a full warband of the creatures and launched an assault on Graia. It was then we learned he was no fool - he was after the Titan. The Imperium could not sacrifice such a valuable asset through Exterminatus, so they elected to dispatch a small force of Ultramarines to the planet to stamp out the Ork invasion and protect the Titan."

View attachment 2604

"Veteran Sergeant Sidonus, Brother Leandros and I were the best among the 2nd Company for the mission. Sidonus was my friend and mentor - one of the finest warriors I know among the Ultramarines, and my most trusted friend. Leandros was young and hot-blooded, fiercely clinging on to the Codex Astartes - an old text that formed the basis for the tactics, strategies, organizations and conduct of the Ultramarines and it's successors - in search of guidance. I did try to encourage him to think for himself. The codex, to me, is something that is to be noted and understood, but not blindly followed.

"In the end, he placed more loyalty in a book than he did his own battle-brother and commanding captain, but. . ."

"I tried. That's more than most will do."

"We fought on the surface of Graia after taking down their leaders prized gunship. I slaughtered many of the damn xenos myself, fighting towards the mechanicum facility that held the Titan. We met an agent of the Inquisition - Inquisitor Drogan - who guided us to the Titan as well as the orbital cannon that the Orks had seized earlier in the invasion. They were using it to shoot down Imperial vessels before they could arrive with reinforcements."

"The Inquisitor claimed himself to be a 'scientist', and he devised a psychic device that could detach the greenskins from their psychic connections, swiftly eradicating them. The invasion took a toll on the population, as the orbital cannon made evacuating civilians almost impossible. I took a risk and trusted an Inquisitor,"

"As my mentor said, never trust the Inquisition. I made a fatal error in my judgement of this man."

"An error I will never forget."

View attachment 2605

"A heretic emerged from the Warp portal that opened at the activation of the device. A Chaos sorcerer, who had used Drogan as a puppet to allow his warband to invade Graia directly by opening a Warp portal upon the surface of the world. Though the greenskins became swiftly disorganized at the death of their leader, the heretics that were once my brothers were far more tenacious in their goal to complete their heathen ritual."

"I could not leave Graia. I swore an oath to protect mankind from Terror, and I sought to kill this heretic before he could bring about any more suffering on the Forge World."

"I let Leandros slip away from my grasp and I let Sidonus die because of it."

". . .but I when heretic tried to become a daemon, I sent him to oblivion personally."

Titus looked down at the floor now, memories flooding back into his head.

"Leandros accused me of heresy and corruption after the fact. He suggested that my uncanny resistance to the whims of the Warp was the product of heresy. The Inquisition believed him. I was taken away from Graia, as my only other option was to declare innocence and let the Inquisition kill my allies, as well every Ultramarine in my command. All credit and honor to my name, tarnished and punished for saving the world."

"So, I was almost turned into a faceless servant of the Inquisition, until all...this."

Titus sighed, leaning back against the wall and looking around.

"It seems. . .as if I'm cursed. Cursed to see lies, treachery, corruption and death happen around me wherever I turn."

"Endless war and suffering. For what?"

"Only the Emperor knows. I do as He wills."

It started with the Decepticon bobbing his head to the beat of the music.

"Earth music... truly is... somewhat engrossing..."

Soonafter, Starscream begins to rise and dance alongside with the others. It was quite the party. The very dance aura of these organics have infected his circuits, urging him to follow their lead.

Nathan raised his brow at the ridiculous dancing displayed in front of him. He must be having a fever dream or in some fucked up coma or something, because this could not be real. Tempted to dance, but Nathan reframed, he rarely even danced at Vortex parties unless he was 3 drinks deep.

"You guys dance like you're having a malfunction," he snickered, before peeling off his bomber jacket and blue cardigan. He put his gun neatly to his side and used his jacket and sweater as a pillow as he lay on the floor. He didn't even care how dirty his white t-shirt would get from contact with the ground, he was just tired.

"You believe in your words, but your will is weak." But even so, he had relented. He might have survived in the vaccuum of space but there would have still been the problem to infiltrate the ship again. "Consider this then the end of my discussions." With that Vader stepped back and allowed the others to go through with their little plan of diplomacy.

"Emperor preserve me."

Titus stood before the shield, rubbing his temples in irritation as the events around him continued. Though he had no care whether or not the masses were going to send him to be their voice (Titus is a born leader, after all), the entire event had Titus glaring at Vader, eyes seeping with suspicion and some contempt.

"Those abilities are unnatural. You're a psyker, then?"

A heretic.

The space marine stomped forward, jutting a finger forward and speaking simply. He felt no need to give a speech or lecture, for Titus knew well that Vader didn't care. Yet, the veteran warrior's face spoke volumes about his experience with men of Darth Vader's disposition.

"Control yourself, so I won't have to."

As if he was speaking to a hound. With that said, Titus turned around to the rest of the group and spoke idly, raising that gargantuan rifle of his into the air and inspecting it. "Steel yourselves for now, comrades. If they do not return in due time. . .," Titus commanded, holstering his bolter on his side and gripping a handle jutting out from some kind of sheathe about his belt. It was a sheathed sword of massive size to a regular man, with a trigger on it's handle.

Wonder what it -

WHIIIIIIIIIRRR!

The blade shot to life with a vicious roar as Titus swung it out from it's sheathe and squeezed the trigger, activating a whole array of wicked, serrated chainsaw blades that scythed along it's edge.

A chainsaw-sword, yes.

Vader was not appreciating Titus' tone with him. "Do not label me just because you do not understand the power that is the Darkside of the Force. And do not presume you can speak to me like some sort of mutt." The anger inside of him was raging like a firey torrent. Vader had been denied and now this man was making a mockery of him.

"What I have inside of me is power. Power to do anything I desire. Perhaps my demands were not met but now they know to fear me, and fear is the greatest motivator of them all."

And there Vader realized the biggest difference between the two. "You cling to sentimentality like an animal begging for scraps at the table. Fitting...you are but a lapdog to another man's will." Perhaps the irony was lost on Vader and the relationship between him and Emperor Palpatine, but in his mind the Emperor was there to be surpassed and defeated so that he could take his rightful spot as the Emperor of the Galactic Empire.

Gakupo bowed as he met the ship's captain. "Thank you for meeting with us, Captain. Sorry for all the trouble this has caused your crew-believe me, we never meant to be any trouble." He didn't like being referred to as a stowaway, but it seemed trust would have to be earned here.

"Well, I imagine this goes beyond a simple fender bender, but indeed, once we have all the answers to our questions concerning this whole situation, I'm sure we can clear this entire mess if we cooperate peacefully," Saru said to Gakupo, before subsequently turning to Emily.

"A power that could tear through space...?" The alien inquired, cocking an eyebrow -- or at least, the closest he had to one. Saru's expression was initially puzzled, before shifting to concern, try as he might to conceal it. "Couldn't be, unless..." The acting captain murmured to himself, as though conflicted with a great many things. He sighed, wondering what he could even say, all things considered, briefly glancing to Michael.

"I would remind us all that the Prime Directive constitutes that whatever anomaly has displaced us and these... stowaways from where we're supposed to be puts us in quite a predicament; we, let alone the rest of them no doubt, can hardly grasp the nature of this space we exist in right now. To that end, the very nature of this anomaly interferes with the natural development of wherever these individuals come from, though..." Saru trailed off, looking away for a brief moment as though in contemplation, before focusing his wide gaze back to Michael, "... I suppose it can't be helped. They're already here, after all, and one can only hope that the Prime Directive won't apply to us if not even we are aware of what world they hail from."

"... Speaking broadly, of course."

"That said, Burnham, do you suspect that the mycelial warp has something to do with this? We've seen its effects firsthand, and considering that technology is still in an infantile state, we still have much to learn about what it is truly capable of," he continued, clasping his hands together, before focusing his attention back to the newcomers, specifically Emily.

"To answer your question... and delicately at that, we... may have an inkling of an idea as to why you've been displaced on board the Discovery, and perhaps if we reverse or trace your vibrational signatures, we'll be able to send you back to where you came."

"'Prime Directive?'" That sounded quite serious. Some law of this world that resulted in some hindrance? Gakupo didn't know, but he didn't dwell on it much as Saru dropped the real item of interest into conversation: he seemed to have some idea what was going on. That was a relief to hear! "You do? What could it be, sir?" Even if it was merely an inkling of an idea, that was better than complete hopelessness!

Viktor stared at Vader for a moment before letting out a hollow chuckle. "Fear is nothing but a flaw of the human mind," argued the Machine Herald. "Once fear is removed, and you can no longer be perceived as something to be feared, you will find that your control over people will diminish."

Noticing the Sith Lord's bodily machinery, Viktor smiled weakly. "I admire your use of mechanical augmentations. It is a shame that you have chosen to keep the emotions that cloud your thoughts and make you weak."

The cyborg held his arms out and addressed both Vader and everyone else in the room. "Behold: the Glorious Evolution. The inevitable, superior stage of humanity. I am no longer hindered by the fragility of flesh, nor do I falter with emotion."

"Those of you who tire of their primal features, speak to me. I am more than willing to assist."

“Shit, this is such a relief. We have no good music back in Blood Gulch. Just that annoying music Sarge likes to play in the Puma—“

“Warthog!”

“Shut up! Anyways, yeah, you get the point.”

As the song continued to play, however, Grif would find himself humming along with the beat, and eventually...

He started to drop some admittedly sick dance moves, much to Sarge’s complete and utter horror and dismay, who was so caught off guard by it that he couldn’t even formulate an insult.
From her place in the air, Gumi started dancing along. That song had similar BPM to Happy Synthesizer, right? No problem using her dance routine for it!

And quite the shock. Thankfully no one was there to see it.

No one from home, anyways.

Somewhat was definitely an understatement.

"All hail Starscream, all hail Starscream! Leader of the dance floor!"

"Hmm... Dancing hasn't ever crossed my mind---" Green Heart began to exclaim as all of a sudden, she glowed a bright light as she suddenly changed appearances!

"Hmm. Looks like I ran out of time? That's very strange to say the least. I'm usually able to stay HDD for longer than that. Hmm. Perhaps it's something to do with this Universe that causes this, but what can I do?" Vert exclaimed as she decided to grab a crate from the corner and pull it towards the group that stayed behind, and took a seat. That was when everyone was telling their stories about themselves and she thought to ask.

"I don't suppose anyone here would partake in learning my origins? I'd imagine the Sargeant and his friend would be interested, plus to some of you here, I've yet to introduce myself, have I? Plus I am quite interested in learning more about our mechanical friend here~" Vert exclaimed, looking towards Starscream with a smile and then towards everyone else, asking her question.
