"'Fraid it might be dangerous for me to get close to the hospital," Cullen said to Riesbyfe. He casually paused to shoot down a floating dusk before continuing. "But let's hope it doesn't come to that, hm?"

Whatever Cullen meant, he was keeping to himself.

As he and the others on their way to the hospital arrived, they saw a much larger version of the smaller dusks scaling the building.

"Who does that cunt think he is, King Kong?" Cullen quipped.

Nearby, Hope was casting spells toward the creature. "It seems pretty resistant to magic!" he yelled.

Flames began to appear in the sky above the school, raining down on the building as if it had angered some powerful god. In the sky near the flames, creaturs began to phase into existence. The creatures, looking like phoenixes, rained down flames from their bodies.

In mere moments, the school was ablaze, adding to the many dangers already happening. The bomb wasn't too far now.

"Excuse me, trying to save some kids!" exclaimed a teenage girl, rushing past Azura and rushing into the building. She was stopped however, when another girl yelled at her to stop.

"Bullet, you're just... rushing in!?"

"Uh, yeah?" the girl responded, turning around to look at her friend, Nancy. "Gonna do something about it?"

Nancy let out an exasperated sigh. "I--" She looked to Azura as if to say "can you believe her?"

After a moment's hesitation, she looked to Bullet. "Fine, let's get those kids out of there."

The two girls ran into the building.

"I suppose... now's the best opportunity for you to arrive!" Komaru said, eyeing Genocide Jack dubiously. She had forgotten herself for a moment, dangerously so in the middle of all this chaos, and chastised herself internally as she reached out to grab Touma's wrist in order to get his attention.

"Forget that, okay? Your right hand might be the best chance we got against that guy!" She turned and pointed toward the sky, at the commander.

Nearby, Milla Maxwell nodded toward Alisha as a sign of respect as she carried Ivar toward her. "Thank you, Alisha." She quickly filled the distance between them and cut down any of the shadows that got close to the girl.

As for the hunter, he barked out a laugh at all the attention he was suddenly getting. His horse was long gone now that over half his body was now some monstrous beast. His lower half now was a hulking monstrosity that towered over the others, with hard skin and a flurry of tentacles. The tentacles shielded him largely from the flurry of bullets being fired upon him. During the assault, he caught a glimpse of Titus wreaking havoc toward him.

"Seems like you understand the thrill of the hunt, mate!" the hunter yelled, firing off a couple of rifle shots toward Titus. Two of his tentacles moved to slam down into the groun around him, causing the ground to quake around him and black dust to obscure the vision of those trying to attack him.

Komaru had let go of Touma and was now trying to spot for the other fighters. "Look out!" she yelled as the humanoid creatures that had attacked Chise before appeared from the dust to finish the job.

The man high in the sky crossed his arms, giving the appearance of Red Tornado little attention. He saw Clare eye him from below and responded by raising and balling into a fist. The ground around her exploded. As this was happening, the spiraling tower of shadows was still intact and turning around to consume Lois now. The man's dark winds battled intensely with hers.

Ever since she had woken up in this body the one thing she had learned was controlling the winds. Ducking below the spiraling tower she'd fire off a hard blast of winds towards it to knock it to the side.

"We have to ground this thing before it can do any more damage!"

"Did someone say...ground it?" The Rider flew over him with his bike. "How about I turn it into ground...beef!"

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" With the Power Cosmic and Hellfire loaded guns the Rider continued his assault on the tower of shadows.​

Azura took a breath, and her pendant glowed as the very water in the air began to bubble. She began to sing, sending vortexes of water to the Phoenix creatures as they rained down fire, hoping to end their attack and hopefully weaken them greatly. Some of the water started to com down onto the school like a harsh rain, the Songstress' brow furrowing as she tried to put out as much of the fire as possible while also keeping an eye or the other enemies.

As she did that Blue ran after Nancy and Bullet to try and help him escort any kids or faculty still inside.

Clare snarled, attempting to get out of the blast radius's way.

If successful, she'd bring her arm back and throw her Claymore towards the man as Ghost Rider made his attack, the blade spinning quickly in the air. Whether or not it cut into the man she'd enhance the muscles in her legs to prepare to quickly get her blade back.

Meanwhile Chise charged at the Bird like humanoid with her clawed dragon arm in a horizontal slash.

Lwai tried to adjust his lenses to see objects and people better in the smoke, hoping to locate whoever seemed to be attacking the Coalition forces with a harpoon.

The commander made a dismissive noise as Clare avoided his attack. He moved with impressive reflexes, reaching out to create a ball of dark energy in front of him to trap her sword in the air.

Frank's intense bullet fire exploded parts of the shadow tower, creating great holes in the mass of creatures. Individual creatures fell off and joined the army below as it tried to hold together, but Lois' winds caused it to grow unstable. The commander tried to counteract her winds with his own, but she was able to successfully keep the tower from doubling back and reforming.

It was then that a shining beam of blue light shot up from somewhere below and exploded inside the tower, shattering it completely. Many of the shadows exploded into mist and the blue light, evidently a magic arrow of some kind, dissipated and blew back the commander, freeing Clare's sword. The source of the arrow, who had appeared on the battlefield with little fanfare, steadied his gaze and aimed another shot.

"Ready for some more?" Sorey asked. He practically glowed, filled with the power of his ancient weapon and merged with his friend and seraphim, Mikleo.

"Sorey, to your right!" said the seraphim internally. Sorey turned slightly and shot quickly, his arrow flying through a shadow that had jumped toward him. The arrow broke up in the air and rained down on the enemies.

Chise's slash cut through one of the former rider's tentacles, even cutting it all the way through. From somewhere, there was a great roar and a rifle shot embedded in the ground at the ground near Chise's feet.

"Girlie, do you even know what this thing is?" he asked, his new form completely towering over all others fighting him. He let out another laugh. "And not to mention myself! Don't you know the Bloodstones are natural hunters?" The man, evidently a Bloodstone, raised his human arms to fire another shot. As he did so, the beast part of him raised a leg to massively stomp down on those nearby.

"Now, Rose!" came a distant voice. Above Bloodstone a glowing woman came into view, glowing green energy building around her. Rose, quite clearly a friend of Sorey's based on her current appearance, released her attack.

Powered by the seraphim, Dezel, the magical energy shot like a bullet toward Bloodstone. It shattered against him in a flurry of magical energy and managed to knock the monstrous beast to the ground.

The thick stench of Malevolence hung in the air of Ash, growing heavier with each passing second. To any mere mortal, it was a filthy place to be, but one didn't become a member of Revan's forces and slaughter a Great Spirit by being a mere mortal. Besides... Silent Earth can get you used to something fast.

"Mmm..." Shan Yu closed his eyes on the outskirts of the city, enjoying the powerful darkness all around him, before turning to his army of Huns. "You heard Revan, men! Take no prisoners, leave nothing standing! And if you see that redheaded soldier, the one known as the Green Lantern..."

"Leave him to me."

Beyond the dark winds and heavy mist, the soldiers of Outway could see distant shadows getting closer and closer from beyond the wall of darkness. Hundreds of men were approaching, their stampeding footfalls loud enough to be heard over the din of combat. In mere moments, the Hun army appeared from the fog of war and joined the shadow army in its wake of violence.

The tide seemed to be turning for the worse, until a voice erupted on the battlefield like a wolf's howl.

"Give em' 'ell until all they can feel is the cold!" commanded Jon Snow, king of Winterfell and commander of an army of Northern men. An army that matched the Huns in size flooded the battlefield and filled in any cracks that the Outway soldiers were missing. "This battle is for all you hold dear to your 'earts!"

Cries of "The King in North!" erupted from the battlefield. Seeing these men were a surprise to the UN soldiers who knew of Jon Snow's tenuous relationship with the Coalition. Little did they know that Makoto, perhaps due to already being a bit a rule breaker, had sent assistance to Jon to help him in his battle with the Long Night.

It was just a matter of course that Jon was duty-bound to return the favor.

His army were not the only reinforcements however. Shards of ice began to appear over shadows and Hun alike, crashing down into them moments later. A woman with black, skeletal wings swooped down into the fight, wielding ice powers with great precision.

"Juzo!" she yelled to someone. "I got a few separated for you!"

From within the group she spoke of, a loud roar sounded out. There was no time for those standing closest to react as a skeletal claw similar to the woman's wings slashed at the unfortunate fellow standing closest. Anyone else standing nearby was knocked back due to the sheer force of the attack. Their assailant became known briefly, a giant black beast who roared once more before charging at the nearest opponent.

From above it all, another with black wings observed the attack with a smile on his face. It had been too long since Juzo Sakakura had been out in the world like this, though that was by choice. Having easily survived his own Reaper's Game, the former Ultimate Boxer had elected to join their ranks, rather than return to his old life. It was a pretty sweet deal down in the Underground, and perfect for him - he had a natural talent for giving others Hell. And from what he knew, the Reapers and the Coalition had ended their team-up before he'd come along, so that meant he wouldn't have to face old ghosts. It was a new start, one that he was grateful for... though of course he'd never admit that.

But then came the news that some assholes up on the surface were trying to fuck shit up in the worst way possible. The thought of working with the Future Foundation wasn't ideal, but if it meant those two could keep living... then, well, it was the least he could do.

"I was hoping the Grizzly would take 'em all down," he said, landing on the ground and cracking his knuckles. "But if you want something done right..." Juzo charged forward, nailing a Hun with a powerful uppercut. "You just gotta do it yourself!" From there, another Hun received a sucker punch. Man... all the Noise and Pins in the world couldn't compare to a good old-fashioned fight!

Inside the school, Bullet and Nancy darted down a hallway quickly. It would have been easy to follow them, if not for a group of dusks smashing through the windows and filling the hallway. A shot rang out from behind Blue, clipping one of the dusks and killing it.

"I'll cover you," said Kyle Hyde.

The fiery creatures above the school tried to zig-zag away from Azura's magic, but many of them exploded into a mist from the attack. Those that remained regrouped and started dive-bombing toward the ground in order to get right in her face. Two figures came flying in from the side at the same time, getting in front of Azura and cutting down the remaining enemies before they could do any harm. The pair dropped down in front of her, both sporting skeletal wings.

"You able to keep up, Forrester?" Arya Stark quipped. She casually twirled her small rapier in her hand, smirking ever-so-slightly.

"Keep up?" Asher Forrester responded, shrugging. "With you? Why, I'll have to try pretty hard."

He then turned to Azura and bowed his head to her. "My lady, you all right?"

The Rider would with the arrival of Sorey aim his guns at the Commander as he sped towards him on the bike. One of the guns was replaced by a firey chain that he tried to wrap around him as he blitzed past.

Lois, in turn, used the attack on the tower of shadows as an opportunity to keep them apart intensifying her winds to keep the pieces scattered so they couldn't reform.

As Rose's attack hit Bloodstone it was followed by a torrent of flames enveloping the monster.

"Haaaa!" A white-haired beauty emerged from behind Rose and set off a chain of fire magics at Bloodstone to keep him down.​

An army that matched the Huns in size flooded the battlefield and filled in any cracks that the Outway soldiers were missing. "This battle is for all you hold dear to your 'earts!"

Cries of "The King in North!" erupted from the battlefield. Seeing these men were a surprise to the UN soldiers who knew of Jon Snow's tenuous relationship with the Coalition. Little did they know that Makoto, perhaps due to already being a bit a rule breaker, had sent assistance to Jon to help him in his battle with the Long Night.

It was just a matter of course that Jon was duty-bound to return the favor.

His army were not the only reinforcements however. Shards of ice began to appear over shadows and Hun alike, crashing down into them moments later. A woman with black, skeletal wings swooped down into the fight, wielding ice powers with great precision.

"Juzo!" she yelled to someone. "I got a few separated for you!"

From within the group she spoke of, a loud roar sounded out. There was no time for those standing closest to react as a skeletal claw similar to the woman's wings slashed at the unfortunate fellow standing closest. Anyone else standing nearby was knocked back due to the sheer force of the attack. Their assailant became known briefly, a giant black beast who roared once more before charging at the nearest opponent.

From above it all, another with black wings observed the attack with a smile on his face. It had been too long since Juzo Sakakura had been out in the world like this, though that was by choice. Having easily survived his own Reaper's Game, the former Ultimate Boxer had elected to join their ranks, rather than return to his old life. It was a pretty sweet deal down in the Underground, and perfect for him - he had a natural talent for giving others Hell. And from what he knew, the Reapers and the Coalition had ended their team-up before he'd come along, so that meant he wouldn't have to face old ghosts. It was a new start, one that he was grateful for... though of course he'd never admit that.

But then came the news that some assholes up on the surface were trying to fuck shit up in the worst way possible. The thought of working with the Future Foundation wasn't ideal, but if it meant those two could keep living... then, well, it was the least he could do.

"I was hoping the Grizzly would take 'em all down," he said, landing on the ground and cracking his knuckles. "But if you want something done right..." Juzo charged forward, nailing a Hun with a powerful uppercut. "You just gotta do it yourself!" From there, another Hun received a sucker punch. Man... all the Noise and Pins in the world couldn't compare to a good old-fashioned fight!

Inside the school, Bullet and Nancy darted down a hallway quickly. It would have been easy to follow them, if not for a group of dusks smashing through the windows and filling the hallway. A shot rang out from behind Blue, clipping one of the dusks and killing it.

"I'll cover you," said Kyle Hyde.

The fiery creatures above the school tried to zig-zag away from Azura's magic, but many of them exploded into a mist from the attack. Those that remained regrouped and started dive-bombing toward the ground in order to get right in her face. Two figures came flying in from the side at the same time, getting in front of Azura and cutting down the remaining enemies before they could do any harm. The pair dropped down in front of her, both sporting skeletal wings.

"You able to keep up, Forrester?" Arya Stark quipped. She casually twirled her small rapier in her hand, smirking ever-so-slightly.

"Keep up?" Asher Forrester responded, shrugging. "With you? Why, I'll have to try pretty hard."

He then turned to Azura and bowed his head to her. "My lady, you all right?"

Clare gave Sorey (and Mikleo) a nod of thanks before going to retrieve her sword, and with a running start tried to force more power into her legs and arms so that she could jump and with a swing of her arms use the flat end of her sword to throw the commander into any of the attacks against him.

Chise was a bit glad that she didn't get hit by the bullet.

"Well that's good to know I don't have to keep calling you Mr. Hunter!" Chise called, and as the Bloodstone was attacked she charged in for the man himself, intending to bring her claws down on him.

"Thanks." Blue turned to Kyle and gave a two fingered salute. Moving to take down dusks as she tried to travel deeper into the building she quickly took on her canine form, using teeth and claws to try and tear the dusks apart while also trying to sniff out any kids still in the building.

Azura meanwhile, was prepared to try and defend herself, but ultimately relaxed her stance as someone else moved in to do so.

"I'm fine, thanks to you two. Thank you." She spoke with gratitude despite her initial surprise. She glanced to the school, ready to use her magic once more to put out any remaining fires and use her naginata to cut down any more enemies.

Meanwhile another man would arrive a bit late to the party, a rifle slung over his shoulder.

Between the Faust Incident and this, their track record for reunions was anything but normal. He looked over to the army that had just converged on the Outway. "Reinforcements...? We have no time to lose!" Libra rushed forward, sending a bolt of lightning into the Hun ranks before slashing at the frontlines with his axe.

"Wanna say hi?" His Servant, Archer, asked.

The thick stench of Malevolence hung in the air of Ash, growing heavier with each passing second. To any mere mortal, it was a filthy place to be, but one didn't become a member of Revan's forces and slaughter a Great Spirit by being a mere mortal. Besides... Silent Earth can get you used to something fast.

"Mmm..." Shan Yu closed his eyes on the outskirts of the city, enjoying the powerful darkness all around him, before turning to his army of Huns. "You heard Revan, men! Take no prisoners, leave nothing standing! And if you see that redheaded soldier, the one known as the Green Lantern..."

"Leave him to me."

Beyond the dark winds and heavy mist, the soldiers of Outway could see distant shadows getting closer and closer from beyond the wall of darkness. Hundreds of men were approaching, their stampeding footfalls loud enough to be heard over the din of combat. In mere moments, the Hun army appeared from the fog of war and joined the shadow army in its wake of violence.

Him.

Guy could practically smell him from a mile off. Call it a sixth sense. Call animal instinct. Something deep inside burned anew the moment Shan Yu's boots touched down Ragnork. It made his heart beat faster. It made his teeth chatter and his palms sweat. The anticipation was killing him.

About damn time.

Guy threw his rifle in the dirt. A quick shot in the dark? That was hardly the ending he was hoping for. No. He'd do it with his hands. The savage way. The fun way. Guy threw his arms wide and swaggered through the Hun's forces.

'Leave him to me,' The Demon had cried. It seemed the devil was looking forward to their reunion too. His footsteps were lost in the pounding of boots and the clashing of swords. He words would have been lost in the slashing and the screaming too. He had to shout. He had to make a scene.
"HEY! YOU! YEAH I'M TALKING TO YOU, SLAP-HEAD!" Guy howled. "GUESS WHO!?"

"You know, Shan, buddy? I've been dreaming of this moment. I've been rocked like a baby by those nightmares. The thought of meeting you again? It's driven me half mad! Ol' Guy Gardener's been chewing the rug while waiting for you, ass-hat! And you know kept me sane? You know what stopped me form going fully mad?" Guy crackled his knuckles and strode towards Shan Yu. "Do you know what it is? You want to phone a friend? I'll tell ya, pal: it was the thought of putting you down like a sick dog. Shan Yu, I'm going to castrate you. I'm gonna shove my foot so far up you're ass you'll be tasting my sneakers. I'm gonna kick you numb, beat you black and blue, wait for you to recover a little, then I'm gonna beat the crap out of you all over again."

Guy flashed the Hun the back of his hand.

"But I won't be doing it as a 'Lantern'. No, sir. No rings. No tricks. No weapons. Don't you go thinkin' that means you'll be getting an easy run though. You're dealing with Guy-Unleashed, Mother Fucker! Guy-Unhinged!" He started beating his chest. "So go on! Throw another net at me! Go on! Do it! Do it! Go on! I dare you! See what happens! SEE WHAT HAPPENS!"

"It's up to you, Shanny. How do you want to do this? Fist-to-fist, or would you feel like more of a 'man' if you died holding a sharp stick?! Don't be shy! I've played this fight out a hundred times in my head. Things are going to be different here, sure. Can you guess why? In the nightmares? I always woke up before the real fun started."

FF grimaced as the dust got into her eyes. After a few moments of clearing them out, she looked up to see Bloodstone has turned into a massive monster.

She futilely shot at it before being knocked to the ground by his tentacle earthquake attack.

“Ghh!!!” She grunted before Rose knocked him to the ground.

“H-he’s down! You got him!” she said before firing at the knocked down Bloodstone for good measure.

The commander took Clare's attack, being thrown backward, but used his dark winds to fly him into the mists and out of sight for the time being.

Below, Bloodstone's massive body flailed and slammed the ground, making it difficult for many attacks to reach him. He cried out in a rage and started to get back upright. "Bloody hell!" he cried, eyes darting for a target. One of FF's shots came close to hitting his human body so he laughed and aimed at her, not realizing he was not the only one to be aiming a rifle.

A shot suddenly pierced his human shoulder and forcing him to drop his rifle to the ground.

Atop of a makeshift building in Outway, Widowmaker grinned devilishly and aimed a second shot at the hunter.

Seeing he had the disadvantage ultimately, Bloodstone began to back away. "Another time, then." He began to disappear into the black mist. Widowmaker fire a second time, but a small furry creature like the ones from Piper's Landing jumped in the way to cover him. Hundreds of the little guys began to pour out from the fog of war, smushng themselves together in order to make a large amalgamation much like the shadows had.

Alice and Blue caught up to Bullet and Nancy just as they were encountering a group of dusks battering a classroom door. "Sh, shit," Bullet said, "there are kids trapped in there!" Nancy lingered, holding a baseball bat that she had seemingly picked up at some point.

"I-I don't know," she said, hesitating but ultimately hoping for a good moment to strike.

Outside the school, the bomb had inched pretty close now, though the action was too heavy around the school for many of the fighters to do much about it. Dusks flew and spun around the vehicle, pushing it closer and closer while sniper creatures with guns flanked them.

The snipers floated in the air, ready to shoot on anyone who got close to the bomb.

"Oh, no you don't!" cried a voice, causing the creatures to look around for any sign of its source. A blue streak bounced through the enemies and a girl appeared at the end of it, wielding twin guns. She fired flurries of bullets into the dusks while avoiding the snipers. She jumped and twirled in the air in an effort to avoid the gunfire.

"The cavalry's here!" Tracer declared, laughing as she easily avoided the gunfire. Lightning from a second source dropped from the sky and crashed into the snipers, stunning them in place. Tracer then quickly poured bullets into the enemies that remained. Once all was said and done, she jumped on top of the vehicle to watch for any other threats.

"Payload secured!"

"Mind watching this thing while I head inside the school?" Mikoto asked casually, looking up at Tracer with her hands on her hips. Tracer gave her a two-finger salute and Mikoto nodded, rushing off toward the chaos going on just outside the school.

"Ah, hell!" Cullen exclaimed, watching as the ship crashed and exploded into the giant creature scaling the building, forcing it to slip and fall straight down to the ground. People screamed and ran to get out of the way.

"I got these guys!" Jude yelled, escorting another group of civilians out of the way while Leia jumped in to cover him.

"Hope, can you try to hold the big guy down?" she asked, flipping around wildly to kill dusks flying around her.

Hope was already on it, casting spells of fire and ice on the big creature, however nothing seemed to be doing much. The creature got to its feet more quickly than expected and brought its hands together to gather some kind of energy in front of it. Hope back off slightly once he realized his spells weren't stopping the attack.

"I think he might be aiming at the building!" Hope yelled, running over to the entrance.

Hope was wrong, though. The creature was aiming at Leia. He turned too late to see a giant ball of energy heading straight for her. With everything going on, there was not much anyone could do.

"Leia, get down!" he yelled, making a beeline for her. She seemed ready to take the blow head-on, but Hope slammed into her and pushed her aside just as the blast consumed him.

Bayonetta had entered the school to see if there was anyone still left to evacuate.

"Such a friendly welcome for little ol' me? You shouldn't have darling!" The Nobodies fell to the barrage and Bayonetta continued on. It was eerily quiet as the Umbral Witch sauntered down the hallways. She thought there would have been some life in here. Then suddenly, a voice. "Help!" Bayonetta could hear a number of muffled cries down the corridor and she hastened her steps.

As she turned the corridor Bayonetta found herself looking at a battlefield. The walls had been scorched and winds had been shattered. The only thing left was a man dressed in green, leaning against the wall. She knelt down to check his pulls when she noticed a wound on his stomach. He had been dead for a while. "Let us out!" Bayonetta was snapped back to reality by a girl's voice coming from the other side of the door.

"Calm down sweetie, Auntie Bayonetta will get you out. Stand back now..." Soon the door was kicked off its hinges and Bayonetta entered finding herself in a classroom with a couple of students huddled in the corner. "It's okay. I'm here to help."

The girl from earlier took a few steps closer to her. "Is...is the man...?"

"I'm afraid he didn't make it, darling," Bayonetta remarked.

"H-he saved us!" One of the other students shouted. "When those monsters attacked he arrived and...he told us to stay inside and keep quiet but..."

"I'll make sure that he'll get the proper recognition, now come along. I need to get you all to safety." Bayonetta took point had the students follow out after her. She and the students gave the body a glance before leaving.

He had gotten a second chance in life and he had given it up to save another. The Fledging Phoenix, Pang Tong would be remembered for his sacrifice.

As Mikoto made a run for the school, she was dismayed by a squadron of enemy reinforcements descending from above. She made a backward leap as large armored types crashed down around her. Her head whipped back and forth, realizing they made a circle around her, looking ready to use their large swords.

As electricity began to course through her hands, she heard a voice call out to her. "Hold on, dear!" said none other than "Mom" Lalonde, the woman Mikoto had heard too much from the last few months. She looked up to see a flying vessel that had to be of ODMA design and Lalonde rappelling down a rope extended from it like some kind of action star.

"A few too many ruffians, don't you think?"

As the woman leaped from the rope, she fired from the gun in her hands down into the crowd of enemies. A few went down to the array of fire, allowing Mikoto to focus on just a few. She let loose the electricity she had been storing, having it course all around her and erupt around the enemy. She then used the electromagnetic energy to bring any metal debris on the ground and toss it through some of the enemies.

An explosion of heat and electricity erupted around Mikoto, clearing out the enemies within her vicinity, though some had backed off to harass others nearby. Lalonde stepped up next to her and let out a sigh. "That school is top priority," she said.

Mikoto nodded and moved quickly once again.

As the energy blast disipated, another of the Coalition's medical staff came flying in to assess Hope's wounds. He was looking completely lifeless as Mercy landed next to him. Leia looked devastated for a moment but could not linger for long as she moved ahead to protect Mercy from the giant dusk.

As Mercy checked Hope's wounds, she felt her stomach drop. It was no good. No amount of medical technology or her own ingenuity could save him.

Hope was dead.

As the new towering monstrosity lingered over the battlefield, Milla yelled for those closest to it to give it some room. "Focus on getting it at range!" she cried. With the hunter and his humanoid pets gone, it at least made their section of the battlefield less chaotic. Milla focused on using magic to protect others from threats, not noting as something was taking her advice to heart.

Having been surveying the seen from afar, a robot got itself into action, changing it form into a turret. It aimed on the amalgamation and fired.

Bastion's flurry off fire crippled the mass of creatures, causing it to shiver and writhe. Dozens of the smaller black creatures fell off it, litting the battlefield. This seemed to be a problem unto itself until a couple of new arrivals.

"Go, Brave Vesperia!" Karol yelled as he slammed his hammer down on one of the small creatures. The rest of his guild flanked him. Yuri, Repede, and Judith got right into the fray while Raven sniped creatures from afar. Covering them was Rose Lalonde, who was assisting Bastion by firing magical attacks into the larger mass.

"What I would not give to tame a populous horror such as this one," she said, looking at the creature with both awe and intrigue.

Gunfire rained down on the new monstrosity as the Rider zipped past. "Oh, you got to be kidding me! How many of these goop things do they have?!"

Red Tornado meanwhile did her part firing a torrent of wind towards it to see if she could rip off a few of its pieces.

Beyond the dark winds and heavy mist, the soldiers of Outway could see distant shadows getting closer and closer from beyond the wall of darkness. Hundreds of men were approaching, their stampeding footfalls loud enough to be heard over the din of combat. In mere moments, the Hun army appeared from the fog of war and joined the shadow army in its wake of violence.

The tide seemed to be turning for the worse, until a voice erupted on the battlefield like a wolf's howl.

"Give em' 'ell until all they can feel is the cold!" commanded Jon Snow, king of Winterfell and commander of an army of Northern men. An army that matched the Huns in size flooded the battlefield and filled in any cracks that the Outway soldiers were missing. "This battle is for all you hold dear to your 'earts!"

Cries of "The King in North!" erupted from the battlefield. Seeing these men were a surprise to the UN soldiers who knew of Jon Snow's tenuous relationship with the Coalition. Little did they know that Makoto, perhaps due to already being a bit a rule breaker, had sent assistance to Jon to help him in his battle with the Long Night.

It was just a matter of course that Jon was duty-bound to return the favor.

"Lindel!" Libra couldn't help but smile as he saw his old friend here once more. "We really should try to meet under better circumstances..." Between the Faust Incident and this, their track record for reunions was anything but normal. He looked over to the army that had just converged on the Outway. "Reinforcements...? We have no time to lose!" Libra rushed forward, sending a bolt of lightning into the Hun ranks before slashing at the frontlines with his axe.

Pyke stealthfully retreated as a much larger army advanced on his position. He swam through the air like a ghost during the chaos as Coalition forces attacked his 'crew.' His distorted mind showed a much more gruesome battle; his friends were caught out in the open, helpless to all forms of attack. He practically boiled with rage as he saw Libra and Lindel on the frontlines mutilating his allies.

He rapidly approached, just out of their peripheral vision, and emerged from his water-like state.

He unravelled a net full of sharp edges and hooks before hurling it at Libra as hard as he could. "Bait's ready!" he bellowed, prompting Hun soldiers to take advantage of the distraction.

The commander took Clare's attack, being thrown backward, but used his dark winds to fly him into the mists and out of sight for the time being.

Below, Bloodstone's massive body flailed and slammed the ground, making it difficult for many attacks to reach him. He cried out in a rage and started to get back upright. "Bloody hell!" he cried, eyes darting for a target. One of FF's shots came close to hitting his human body so he laughed and aimed at her, not realizing he was not the only one to be aiming a rifle.

A shot suddenly pierced his human shoulder and forcing him to drop his rifle to the ground.

Atop of a makeshift building in Outway, Widowmaker grinned devilishly and aimed a second shot at the hunter.

Seeing he had the disadvantage ultimately, Bloodstone began to back away. "Another time, then." He began to disappear into the black mist. Widowmaker fire a second time, but a small furry creature like the ones from Piper's Landing jumped in the way to cover him. Hundreds of the little guys began to pour out from the fog of war, smushng themselves together in order to make a large amalgamation much like the shadows had.

Alice and Blue caught up to Bullet and Nancy just as they were encountering a group of dusks battering a classroom door. "Sh, shit," Bullet said, "there are kids trapped in there!" Nancy lingered, holding a baseball bat that she had seemingly picked up at some point.

"I-I don't know," she said, hesitating but ultimately hoping for a good moment to strike.

Outside the school, the bomb had inched pretty close now, though the action was too heavy around the school for many of the fighters to do much about it. Dusks flew and spun around the vehicle, pushing it closer and closer while sniper creatures with guns flanked them.

The snipers floated in the air, ready to shoot on anyone who got close to the bomb.

"Oh, no you don't!" cried a voice, causing the creatures to look around for any sign of its source. A blue streak bounced through the enemies and a girl appeared at the end of it, wielding twin guns. She fired flurries of bullets into the dusks while avoiding the snipers. She jumped and twirled in the air in an effort to avoid the gunfire.

"The cavalry's here!" Tracer declared, laughing as she easily avoided the gunfire. Lightning from a second source dropped from the sky and crashed into the snipers, stunning them in place. Tracer then quickly poured bullets into the enemies that remained. Once all was said and done, she jumped on top of the vehicle to watch for any other threats.

"Payload secured!"

"Mind watching this thing while I head inside the school?" Mikoto asked casually, looking up at Tracer with her hands on her hips. Tracer gave her a two-finger salute and Mikoto nodded, rushing off toward the chaos going on just outside the school.

"Ah, hell!" Cullen exclaimed, watching as T=the ship crashed and exploded into the giant creature scaling the building, forcing it to slip and fall straight down to the ground. People screamed and ran to get out of the way.

"I got these guys!" Jude yelled, escorting another group of civilians out of the way while Leia jumped in to cover him.

"Hope, can you try to hold the big guy down?" she asked, flipping around wildly to kill dusks flying around her.

Hope was already on it, casting spells of fire and ice on the big creature, however nothing seemed to be doing much. The creature got to its feet more quickly than expected and brought its hands together to gather some kind of energy in front of it. Hope back off slightly once he realized his spells weren't stopping the attack.

"I think he might be aiming at the building!" Hope yelled, running over to the entrance.

Hope was wrong, though. The creature was aiming at Leia. He turned too late to see a giant ball of energy heading straight for her. With everything going on, there was not much anyone could do.

"Leia, get down!" he yelled, making a beeline for her. She seemed ready to take the blow head-on, but Hope slammed into her and pushed her aside just as the blast consumed him.

As Mikoto made a run for the school, she was dismayed by a squadron of enemy reinforcements descending from above. She made a backward leap as large armored types crashed down around her. Her head whipped back and forth, realizing they made a circle around her, looking ready to use their large swords.

As electricity began to course through her hands, she heard a voice call out to her. "Hold on, dear!" said none other than "Mom" Lalonde, the woman Mikoto had heard too much from the last few months. She looked up to see a flying vessel that had to be of ODMA design and Lalonde rappelling down a rope extended from it like some kind of action star.

"A few too many ruffians, don't you think?"

As the woman leaped from the rope, she fired from the gun in her hands down into the crowd of enemies. A few went down to the array of fire, allowing Mikoto to focus on just a few. She let loose the electricity she had been storing, having it course all around her and erupt around the enemy. She then used the electromagnetic energy to bring any metal debris on the ground and toss it through some of the enemies.

An explosion of heat and electricity erupted around Mikoto, clearing out the enemies within her vicinity, though some had backed off to harass others nearby. Lalonde stepped up next to her and let out a sigh. "That school is top priority," she said.

Mikoto nodded and moved quickly once again.

"I've got him!"

As the energy blast disipated, another of the Coalition's medical staff came flying in to assess Hope's wounds. He was looking completely lifeless as Mercy landed next to him. Leia looked devastated for a moment but could not linger for long as she moved ahead to protect Mercy from the giant dusk.

As Mercy checked Hope's wounds, she felt her stomach drop. It was no good. No amount of medical technology or her own ingenuity could save him.

Hope was dead.

As the new towering monstrosity lingered over the battlefield, Milla yelled for those closest to it to give it some room. "Focus on getting it at range!" she cried. With the hunter and his humanoid pets gone, it at least made their section of the battlefield less chaotic. Milla focused on using magic to protect others from threats, not noting as something was taking her advice to heart.

Having been surveying the seen from afar, a robot got itself into action, changing it form into a turret. It aimed on the amalgamation and fired.

Bastion's flurry off fire crippled the mass of creatures, causing it to shiver and writhe. Dozens of the smaller black creatures fell off it, litting the battlefield. This seemed to be a problem unto itself until a couple of new arrivals.

"Go, Brave Vesperia!" Karol yelled as he slammed his hammer down on one of the small creatures. The rest of his guild flanked him. Yuri, Repede, and Judith got right into the fray while Raven sniped creatures from afar. Covering them was Rose Lalonde, who was assisting Bastion by firing magical attacks into the larger mass.

"What I would not give to tame a populous horror such as this one," she said, looking at the creature with both awe and intrigue.

Avalon- School

Blue quickly charged forward and attempted to sink her fangs into the neck of one of the dusks, hoping that her momentum and bodyweight would send it crashing into the others and cause a bit of a domino effect.

Outside of the school, Azura quickly moved to cut down and use her powers against any of the enemies present that threatened to come near, hoping to keep any more of them at bay from those inside trying to evacuate those still inside.

Wow, was that man really walking through an army barehanded? Lindel questioned if the man had a death wish, but if he wanted to call out whoever this Shan Yu fellow was the mage wouldn't stop him.

And then something went wrong, very very wrong.

"Shit! Libra!" Lindel whipped his head around at the sound of Pyke's voice, before attempting to, at the very least, get Libra out of the way of the net. Where the hell had this foe come from? He hadn't seen him until the last possible second!

Regardless if getting Libra out of the way worked or not, he quickly began to chant, sending sharp cutting winds Pyke's way that'd try to slam into him like an angry tornado in retaliation.

Meanwhile, Clare had moved in to cut down those of the Hun army without so much as blinking. As for Lwai, he went after the Huns near Guy Gardner, using his robotic body to try and disarm and knock out any Huns he faced.

It had been a long time since Billy had seen death. Yes, there had been close deaths and corruptions and yes, they had lost a Great Spirit or two, but this was different. This was a person. " Who hurt you?" He asked the android.

The android would dodge the red wave blast and just stare. " Nobody hurt me, people helped me, they saved me. I was alone and I got a home... a family, a name, a life. They made me, they protected me and I would do anything for them.... you really didn't think this through, did you Milla?" He asked, aiming and shooting at her.

Billy just stared at him and with his super fast speed, he attempted to catch the bullet before it hit her.

Pyke's eyes widened as the wind around him suddenly picked up and knocked him off balance. He already hated breathing the air of land-folk, and this just added insult to injury. Before another gale could slam into him, he stomped his foot on the ground to regain his balance before dodge rolling to the side. He remained low to the ground as green energy surrounded his body, repairing some of the damage he had received. He stood up and stretched his shoulder, gazing into the mage's cowardly eyes. Pyke could see him on The Terror, aiding the ship's escape by adding wind to its sails. Pyke's heart welled with the thirst for revenge. However, a strange idiosyncrasy presented itself as the sailor suddenly shook, closing his eyes and putting a hand on his head for a moment. "I remember your face," he began, opening his eyes, "You watched me drown! You could've used your fancy magic to save me, but you did nothing." He then sprinted toward Lindel and threw his harpoon in an attempt to bring him closer.

"Now it's your turn to sink."​

"Dammit all...!" Akiko cursed, clicking her tongue with wide, alert eyes as she rested a hand upon Leia's shoulder, whether to console the younger girl or to hold her back from doing something reckless in the face of Hope's death. There was a lot to register in that moment; the loss of someone she considered a respected colleague, the loss of such a young boy who wanted to better the worlds before him, but with all the fast, high octane chaos all around them, all the woman could do was try her best to keep herself and the others alive as best as she could.

Times like these, she cursed her own power for being so specific, so limited. If only he'd have been able to hold out and hang on to just one sliver of life within him, she would have been able to use her power to nurse him right back to health in an instant, but there was nothing she could do for anyone who had already crossed the line.

The woman instinctively stepped in front of Leia before long, as though intending to protect her from whatever the giant creature had next in store for them, not that she could truly do much against a monster of that magnitude by herself, before suddenly...

"Bastaaaaard!"

Suddenly, as fast as a shooting star and burning twice as hot, Riesbyfe Stridberg leapt through the air, charging right at the creature headfirst. Even if she did not even so much as know Hope's name, it was one that the Holy Knight would make sure to remember, along with all those that had fallen during this terrible war.

As Akiko herself had mused just then, it was indeed a tragedy for any innocent life to be snuffed out, and driven by a mixture in equal measure of burning hatred and an equally fierce to deliver justice upon sin, Riesbyfe was ready to destroy the monster as quickly as possible, before it could go on to harm anyone else!

Blam!

With her shield tucked securely in her right hand, Riesbyfe clenched her left gauntlet into a tight fist and threw it forward in a wide yet devastating hook, delivering a blow of at least 5 tons in physical power! The woman had recalled Hope's passing words of the creature being resistant to magic, and if such was the case, her shield -- covered to the brim with all sorts of enchantments -- would have fared less than her natural muscle power.

Mages were just like that back where she came from.

From afar, Deadshot could only silently gaze at the fierce battle between the beast and whoever else would have dared to stand against it, after witnessing it easily destroy the boy. He had been out of his element before and lived to tell the tale, but that was also because he knew how to adapt, and what to do when direct confrontation wasn't good enough.

Waving over at Akiko and Leia, among others who were also there, the marksman called out to them. "C'mon! We need to evacuate the area!"

"Leia, let's go!" Akiko exclaimed sternly, almost afraid that the girl would want to jump into the fray herself and put herself at risk, even after all that had happened...

"Don't you dare turn your back on me! And don't you try to go after my dear sister either!" Muzét yelled as RK-900 made a shot at Milla, the Great Spirit fluttering away from Gaius instinctively. While Billy was occupied intercepting the bullet to protect Milla, Muzét dashed around to get a good look at the android, before raising her arms into the air, as though conjuring up more magical energy to channel out.

"I won't forgive such insolence from a tin man of all things!" The Great Spirit exclaimed, as purple jolts of what looked like electric energy began to suddenly appear above her hands.

Banish Volt!

In no time, the crackling energy materialized into the form of a ball of purple electricity above Muzét's hands, before aiming the ball right at the android and firing at will!

Touma began, seemingly pausing a bit for a moment as Komaru grabbed his wrist, as though it caught him off guard for whatever reason, before clearing his throat, his resolved and narrow gaze returning. "Okay! But any ideas on how to get to him or get him down to our level? I don't suppose he's open to chat it out!"

"Maybe we can find a catapult and fling him right into the air, gyahahaha!" Genocide Jack cackled madly, seeming to only half-comprehend the dire situation at hand.

"Not helping!"

"I saved your life and I can just as easily snuff it out on a whim. Your life is in my hands, buckaroo!" The girl snapped at Touma, tongue still sticking out limply like it was too long to fit into her mouth, threateningly holding out a pair of scissors at him, before sighing as she withdrew them, tapping the sides of the blades against her temple pensively, or whatever counted as deep thought for her. "He's probably only gonna come down here if he feels like he needs to! With the horse dude runnin' away and being replaced by that big scary mass of shadows there, bettin' that we're slowly but surely pushing back against 'em," she suggested, perhaps unexpectedly astutely.

"Any other ideas?" Touma hazarded to ask.

"We could try getting his attention the normal way," Genocide Jack suggested, before looking up at the man in the sky. "YO FUCKFACE LOOK OVER HERE!!" She bellowed, before turning back to Touma and Komaru as though more confident that that wouldn't even garner a glance their way. "Okay, I've exhausted my capacity for thought. We should probably go fuck up those shadows either way because may as well, amirite?"

It was then that the aforementioned creatures who gunned for Chise before had returned, eliciting an alarmed reaction from Komaru, and in turn, caused Touma to stand at attention again. More proactive than before, Touma leapt forward as fast as his legs could go right at the creatures, clenching his right fist tightly and throwing it wildly toward the creatures! Not that his fighting style was even close to being the most refined or flashy, but Imagine Breaker seemed to get the job done easily enough, so no reason to stop here!

Another seraph, from the same vein of Mikleo and Dezel, as well as the other newcomer, the white-haired fire-wielding Lailah. Literally dashing onto the scene, a young-looking blonde girl sped into the area, her feet planted on the inside of a spinning umbrella that sped through the scene like a makeshift wheel, burrowing through the ground with such power that any Hun foolish enough to get in her way was suddenly blown into the air like they'd been hit by an out of control car. And then, before long...

Tink!

Before either of them knew it, the girl was suddenly standing between Lindel and Pyke, the umbrella held out in the air, evidently made of sturdier stuff as it managed to deflect his harpoon away from Lindel. Pulling the umbrella away, the little blonde girl gave a sharp glare.

"Ugh, everything always happens so much," the girl -- named Edna -- said mostly to herself, her tone somewhere between bored and irritated. "This is all Meebo's fault somehow, but I can bring fashionably late back into fashion, don't either of you think?" She mused to the others around her. She didn't seem quite as eager as her friends to be here, but all the same, she knew this was important, so may as well get it over with, right? Sure.

"Anyway, why don't you make like a spoon and get bent?" Edna quipped toward Pyke, before extending out her arm.

Suddenly, sharp spikes of pure rock and earth began to protrude from the ground, a trail of pillars making their way right toward Pyke by the little girl's will!

Pyke grunted in frustration as a powerful woman suddenly entered the battlefield, blocking his attack. He quickly yanked his harpoon's wire back before attaching the blade back to its handle. As Edna spoke, he couldn't quite make out exactly what she was saying. It sounded as if she was speaking underwater, which only pissed him off even more. He didn't know why it was happening (in fact it was very strange), but he didn't care, all he could think about was that she sounded like the men who had stranded him in the ocean.

No, actually, she was worse. She talked like a captain. Looked like a captain. Smelled like a captain. "Yeah, it's always the crew's fault, huh?!" he snarled, "Fancy captains like you got no place on this earth. I'll carve you some gills!" He took a step forward, preparing to lunge, before the earth itself suddenly opened up beneath his feet, knocking him into the air. Seawater bled from his lower body, where he had been grazed by the sharp rock.

"Fog's rollin' in."

Before he could be fully impaled by the spikes below, however, he suddenly disappeared from sight as the area became shrouded with mist. Distant objects were still visible, but Pyke's body had become one with the mist, achieving total invisibility. His wounds recovered slowly during his invisibility, but he wasted no time. He continued to rush and approach from the side in order to force a melee encounter. As he rapidly approached Edna, his form became more and more visible, until he finally dashed, aiming to impale her exposed back.
