Are your Oc's your Gender?

Hi! I have both genders as well as an androgenous character that has not yet seen action. I am willing to RP with anyone.

I've done pretty much different genders since always, and beyond. Because sometimes I play OCs from cultures that are vastly different from our own, so gender isn't even the same if it even exists.

My OCS vary with who I'm rping with. I can rp as either female or male and I love it. The male gives me the push that I need to try better in rping. female is my gender that I normally go to. But all in all, I go by who my rp partner would rather be.

90% of my characters tend to be females. I just feel like I'm more accurate(?) when I write the same gender compared to doing males. I'd also rather stick to doing females almost all the time in an RP ofc there's exceptions and I have played males but I kinda doubt my skills.

Most of mine are either female, Non-binary, or transgender MTF. I'm working on getting more make OCS in.

I do both female and male, however, I tend to enjoy writing male characters over female. Which is crazy, because I'm female. The whole 'write what you know' thing doesn't apply. But I do write both.

Almost never. I am non-binary but almost always play female characters. Irl I present rather androgynous (more masc in the summer and more femme in the winter).

I love this response because I'm the "opposite" and it's fun to see people who are happy doing it in a completely different way haha. I'm also nb but almost always play male or male presenting characters. Irl i also present kinda androgynous but I tend to fem up in summer and masc up in winter xD

Even before I came out (AMAB btw), I still played female characters though.

I have 25 females and 26 males... (51 in total) i did not know i had more male ocs then i did females till this post! this is quite interesting.... but me being agender, I don't really mind playing as males or females or other genders at that.

also, if you would like to see any of my Oc's I have a link to my Oc tracker,

All my Characters are my gender, Female, I've always been too afraid that I would wrongly portray a another (well I have done a non-binary) and I'm wondering what other people think about it. Have you ever been afraid to be a different gender? do you dabble in all? Or do you prefer to only do the opposite/no gender at all? I'm excited to see what others think, share your thoughts!
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I tend to make a character based on the need of the story I put them in. I mean yeah, there has been some initial hesitation to portray a different gender/race/ethnicity but that's where doing research came in for me.

I have written as both male and female. I feel I need to. It wouldn't be much fun if all the characters in your story were all one gender or another, especially when you're writing on your own outside of RPing. I have stumbled sometimes, wondering if I'm portraying the opposite sex correctly. When that happens I try to see them more as personalities than gender. That usually works for me.

I don't mind playing males in roleplays for other people, my overall preference for myself is always playing a female/women overall as it feels more comfortable. However, I'll play whatever gender so male for another person's side.
