Non-Canon Afflictions Of the Heart (A non-cannon Valentine's Day RP)

Eros had never been the most patient of the gods. He could have told you that, if his demeanor didn't already give it away. Tapping his foot anxiously, he wondered how long it would take before someone answered his invitation. It had taken a ton of energy to send it across the multiverse and he just needed someone to arrive. He was hungry and desperate. The thing about punishment for gods were that they often fit the crime. So, for a god who lived off of other people's desires, their secret wishes, their love, to be without was suffocating.

So, he hadn't always made the best decisions. Sure, he could have stopped his nephew from doing that thing to his mother, but he was young and foolish. Sure, he could have made some of the darker desires of men less likely to happen, but he didn't. And as things often do, his neglect and manipulation of desires had landed him here. In this house.... alone.

But enough time had passed that he found a solution. He was still able to write letters and talk to people, so a party on his birthday would have to do. If enough people came and enough desire floated around, he could free himself. He looked up and offered a smile as someone finally arrived. " It's so nice to finally see a guest arrive. My name is Eros Valentino. There is some food over there while we wait for more guests to arrive. Then, we can finally talk about this party's purpose and how it can be a great time for everyone."

The god wasn't lying, there was a ton of food on the table. He just didn't mention that it was partially food with side effects, he needed to put some insurance in case people had preferences in dates, so there was a bit of everything. Food that made you older, thinner, younger, buffer, scrawnier. Food that could change skin color, eye color....foot size. Of course, he put normal food mixed in with the enchanted one. He didn't want no one to want to eat it.

Noah was a cautious man. Always was since his brother's death.

So when he first entered the nicely-furnished room, Noah was immediately suspicious.

"Listen, I'm not here to fuck around, so let's get to the fucking chase. Why the fuck did you invite me here? Who do you work for? You that Observer fuck?"

Noah had no intention to stay long. The invite was wedged between his doors like the Token letter. He was pretty sure this decision would lead to his certain demise, but who fucking cares at this point.

Eros Valentino

Eros wondered how it was that he found all the paranoid people so easily.

The god just let loose a sigh, running his hand through his hair. Maybe this was going to be here.

"One, you are not the only guest, so I would like to not be a broken record, playing the same message. All will be revealed once at least one more guest here. I don't work for anyone,"

Eros hoped that his other guests weren't like this. He needed to be fed and that meant people needed to date or at least be attracted to something. He would take someone desiring to steal the couch at this point.

A loud clanging sound could be heard in the foyer. "U-um hello?" The sound of metal hitting the floor got louder as a girl with monstrous claws peeked into the living room.

"A-am I late?" Passionlip had been minding her own business in Chaldea, and trying to avoid Robin Hood, when a letter had fallen at her feet. Perplexed that she would've gotten something like that and fearing she'd destroy it she'd asked Tamamo Cat to help her open it. With the contents of the enveloped open and read she had just...ended up here.

She hoped the others invited were nice people. Passionlip had a hard time dealing with new people. "...I'm Passionlip...the Alter Ego of love and hate... Um... I'm sorry if I hurt you..." The way she introduces herself was probably not the best either...​

"Umm..." The man did seem familiar...was he one of the Servants? There were so many nowadays and Passionlip couldn't keep all of them straight. Especially when they kept Master away from her... "Y-yes. I'm Passionlip." He was so familiar with her...was this just a way for him to bully her somehow? "I-I'm doing alright?"

"Passionlip! Eh, I was close." He smiled and extended his handful of mystery food. "I'm Yan Qing. Want some food? I dunno what it is, but it's pretty good!"

"Hmm..." A Valentine's party, huh? This wasn't typically the thing Edmond Honda was invited to, considering that Valentine's was different back home than it was out west. Not that he complained...fans sent him plenty of chocolate! But still, a party sure sounded nice, and it wasn't like he had anything on his calendar! ...well, okay, maybe he did, but come on. He'd snuck out plenty of times before, not like one more would hurt!

So here he was, all dressed up for the occasion and it looked like he was one of the earlier arrivals. There was some food out, but he could wait for others to help themselves first.

Michiko Malandro wasn't the type to be invited to parties. No, she was the one to crash them and invite herself. So being invited to one was weird as all hell and she didn't remember how she even got here.

"Hey, got any booze? I'm gonna need a few for whatever shit is gonna come out of anyone's mouth while I'm here." She spoke up, hand going to her hip then. So far nothing seemed too out of place other than a few of the partygoers. She didn't know what the fuck was up with that one girl's hands and she didn't want to know. Also what the hell was up with her breasts? Fucking size Gs or some shit. She needed a drink.

"Some call me Lip..." Passionlip was close to saying friends, but she didn't have any friends, at least not in her mind. There were just some people that happened to not be continuously bullying her.

As Yan Qing extended his hand with the food Passionlip on reflex took a few steps back causing her claws to touch a nearby lamp and destroying it. "Please be careful around me!" She begged. "B-bad things happen when you get too close."​

Weaving between partygoers and heading right to the food table was a round...fish-bird looking thing with a beak? It floated and circled the food as if inspecting it closely.

"??" It was looking to see if the food was possibly poisoned before trying to eat, chirping softly in slight confusion. The owner of the odd creature, was a white haired man who looked like he'd rather be anywhere else right about now.

Saki Haijima, despite currently seeming relaxed and lazy had an intense air around him. He was agitated, because he had important things to do, and he wasn't the partying type either.

Running his hand through his hair with a small yawn, his gold eyes flicked to where his spirit was, before landing on Eros.

"So, Mr. Host, you're going to explain why we're here now?" He asked. He could tell that there was something otherworldly about the other, but not exactly what it was.

The good news for Yan Qing was that the first two bites of whatever he was eating had no noticeable adverse on him. However, on the third bite, Yan Qing would feel an odd tingling sensation. The feeling would pass, but to anyone who was talking to him, they would notice that he seem to have noticeably gotten a bit thinner and looked about ten years older than before.

Eros Valentino

Eros just ignored the childish sneer and took a deep breath.

"I don't work for anyone expect myself- but it seems that is difficult to understand for you. It does seem more guests have arrived, so I will tell you why you are here in a moment."

Eros was relieved that at least the guests weren't hurting each other. At least, he didn't have to worry about anyone ruining his pla- he looked over and saw it then. A slightly plump demon who was eyeing the food, but not eating it. He didn't seem to be noticed by anyone, oh that was bad.

He would compose himself to not let anyone know that the demon being here ruined his plans. It would be hard for that thing to date unless it was summoned- and boy, he didn't think that was a good idea. " Yeah, the booze is to the right of the table of food. We got beer, wine, juice and water. If you have something else you want, it will also be there. I ordered a lot of drinks, so I don't remember everything that I have here."

As soon as the fish creature would go by the food, it would notice Beetlejuice. " Can you see me.... adorable fish thing?" He asked, looking at it.

Eros would take a deep breath and finally smile. " Well, enough people are here to tell you. This party is to celebrate Valentine's Day and to get you all dates. My name is Eros Valentino, I'm the god of desire. And I am rather starved for some. It's how I eat. I live off of love and lust and desire and sex. The good news for you, I have invited a lot more people, so finding a date should be easy. However, the bad news for all of you is that this house comes with a terrible perk." Eros would lean to open the door and before long, an ugly creature would charge and growl.

It would grab poor Yashamaru Kurama and before he could react, his life would be sucked away and he would be turned into one of those creatures.

" It exists in a plane where leaving is certain death. And if you die... well, let's just say that a different guest that no one can clearly see can explain the cons of that. I have some other bad news. You have until sunrise tomorrow to get a date or help me figure out another way to free us from this prison. But, otherwise, enjoy your stay."

And then all that happened.

"Sheesh." Yan Qing shook his head, continuing to eat in spite of the gruesome death that just occured and the tingly sensation. "Hey, Lip! *munch* Wanna date? We can probably leave if we do!"

"What the?!" Honda watched the horrifying turn of events with a bit more care than the Assassin-class Servant. What the heck kind of party was this?! Love gods? Evil beasts? Invisible people?! "H-Hold on now, pal!" The sumo would step up to their host, now angry. "You're telling me you brought us here to force us to date people or we die?! What's wrong with you?!"

Eros didn't skip a beat as he looked over at Honda. " Well off the top of my head, being trapped in a house that I can never leave has caused some unstable thoughts and desperate actions to be taken by myself. Also, my father is literally the embodiment of Chaos. Oh yeah, I CAN'T FUCKING LEAVE HERE BECAUSE I PISSED OFF THE WRONG GODS WITH MY POWERS THAT I CAN'T CONTROL AND HAVE HAD MY WHOLE LIFE." Eros took a moment to pause. " I am sure there are other ways to leave, but I myself can't use them as I am bound to this house. There's a library along with the bedroom and a locked door."

Jeez. Sounds like this guy needed a talk with his dad to sort things out! "Well, I'm sure if they listened to your side, things would get smoothed over! Consider me on board to help you figure out how to get outta here!" It wasn't that he couldn't get a date, per se. But to find someone on such short notice? If he was gonna go out with somebody, he needed a little more time! So, helping someone out seemed a better alternative.

Therefore, Honda took off to that library the guy was talking about. Probably didn't have much time to read every book, but hey. Had to start somewhere!

Was this why Master hadn't introduced her to this man? And why she didn't fear death...she wanted to get back to Chaldea again. This man was, however, making it very difficult. "I am used to getting hurt..." She replied to Yan Qing with a somber tone before her cheeks became red.
