Shae laughed lightly, shaking her head back and forth. "I know I'm right, and I know I'm right handed. Thanks for noticing." She gave Miwa a soft smile. "You're a good person, I know that, but gods, Miwa, try to be a bit more understanding, ok?"
Miwa
Miwa started flailing her arms. "WHATDDYA MEAN, 'MORE UNDERSTAND-'"
Miwa stopped right there and self-reflected. "Oh. I see what you mean. I'll try not to be as much of an assh*le in the future, but-" She whipped her hair. "I'm afraid to say that I can't make any promises."
"That's all I ask, that you try." She said with a small chuckle. "Rome wasn't built in a day." She pointed out and popped a slice of orange into her mouth. "By the way." She said. "Have you apologized to Miyuki yet?"
Miwa
Miwa shook her head. "Apparently, she's on the dorm rooftop. I saw her on my way in. I dunno what she's doing, though. It just doesn't seem like the right time to apologize (or becuase I don't wanna get myself trapped lol)."
Miwa's shoulders slumped as she sighed. "Sometimes, I wish my childhood was different. My dad always said that the smart rule and that everyone else is trash. He's way more blunt than Mom. She always sugarcoats everything."
Shae stopped halfway to lifting an orange slice to her mouth. Slowly, she lowered her hand and frowned at Miwa. "Parents..." She started before rubbing the back of her neck. "Parents are...complicated." She said lamely. Sighing heavily, Shae looked down at her orange. Shae shook her head before looking up at Miwa again, reverting back to not looking directly at her. "No offense, but your dad is wrong. No one is trash." There was something dark in her eyes as she said.
Miwa
Miwa chuckled as she took out a picture of her father, Rox Shi, out of her pocket. "Heh. He had a pretty rough time when he was little. His parents pretty much neglected him, so even though he was a prince, he was... a freak. He tells me that if you're really strong, people see you grow and put their faith in you. They can expect you to make good choices, and do what is right for the majority." She kissed the picture. "That they can expect you to be a... leader. Dad had an Alice too, y'know. Same as mine. He passed it down. He was really harsh, but not like your dad, Shae, like a boot camp general. He said that if I'm not ready when I young, I might as well never be ready."
Miwa sighed. "I've always believed in his mindset. I mean, back in Unmei, he was loved by all. Sure, he was a little depressing, and he was a goth, but nobody really expected him to ever fail. If anyone failed, it was me, his own daughter..."
Shae sighed heavily before reaching across the table and touching Miwa's hand getnly, trying to offer a bit of comfort. "Miwa, everyone makes mistakes, it's a part of being human. You'll get there, you don't have to be ready now. We're all still kids."
Miwa
Miwa blushed fiercely as Shae touched her hand. "But... we're Senior High kids. We might be kids now, but what happens when we're 19? I pretty much have no home to go to, I didn't have any friends at Unmei, and I know my dad wouldn't take me back! You're right, Shae, we're just kids. But we're kids that are growing up, and when we're done, we have to face the harsh reality of life."
Shae shook her head and brought her hand back across the table."Then we figure it out. You're smart and you have drive, if anyone is going to figure out their future its you. But at the same time, pace yourself, remember that you can make mistakes, and that is ok." She said.
Shae chuckled softly and finished off her orange. "Thank you. I, again, realize this." She said and smiled. "How is it that I, queen of all that is dark and brooding, am more optimistic than you?" She teased.
Miwa
Miwa gave Shae a "Really?" look. "I'm the one with a Shadow Alice, remember?"
Miwa took a bite of her apple. It was nice to have a friend who could understand you when you felt like no one could.
Miwa petted her mouth with a napkin before scanning the room. She licked her finger and put it up into the air.
The wind was right.
The mood was right.
The time was right.
Before she could control herself, she jumped back from her seat, grabbed a mango from her plate and threw it Shae!
Shae saw the sudden attack coming from a mile away and ducked out of the way of the flying fruit. Being raised in a household where glass projectiles were often aimed at her, she'd learned a thing or two. Thanks sooo much dad for making me learn to defend myself. She thought dryly before arching a brow at Miwa with a 'are you kidding me?' look. "My, someone needs to improve their aim." She taunted.
Shae grimaced and nearly tripped standing up to get away from the attack of condiments. "I know I said we're kids but are we really going to do this!?" She said and though she sounded like she was complaining, she reached down and grabbed what remained of her salad before chucking it at the back of Miwa's head.
Miwa
Miwa chuckled at Chojin. "What a chump!"
She then turned to Shae. "Uh huh. What's wrong, girlfriend, scared to get your ass kicked?"
When the salad was thrown at her, it splattered all over her face. Miwa was angry. "Oh, let's go."
She went around the room to see a kid about to put a loaf of French bread in his mouth. "Sorry, kid, I need this."
Miwa forcefully took it and dashed at Shae, charging her Alice in it. She slashed at Shae.
