Humanity's Stargazer

!Announcement!
mainly, the skills are just a scale of your character's affinity with it, in case anything occurs during the journey. For example, if the ship is damaged for any reason, a few roles including the robotics operator would have to cooperate to repair anything. Biologists would be more focused on perhaps diseases or alien/unknown lifeforms, etc. Of course the action will be character driven, but there should be room for events to occur, such as outbreaks, asteroids, battles. It is up to the players to determine what will occur, but if nothing happens, I'll try to step in and lend a guiding hand.
- A World Lost - The galaxy turns out to be full of species in a loose confederation of colonies and homeworlds including humans from the First Expedition and their offspring, leaving Earth to rot, forgotten, the adventurers embark on their quest to find the New Human Homeworld, shrouded in mystery after disappearing from the known coordinates 60 years prior to their arrival. The only trace was a series of wavelengths emitted from its former position before the system disappeared.
- A Desolate Quest - The galaxy is as empty as we had always seen. Our only hope is to quest through space, facing unknown diseases, parasitic organisms, and hostile ancient/degenerated species (Failed species that devolved into a hostile feral species, driven only by survival instincts and aggressiveness) and find the destined world colonized by the First Expedition, either the Sickle world or the Volunteers. 4 Votes casted for this.
- A World Discovered & Splintered - The galaxy is actually inhabited to the brim with intelligent species and governed by a strong confederation with Rim-worlds, Homeworlds, and Metropolis worlds. The humans are the youngest members of the confederation, but already are causing issues to rupture the confederation with newly introduced human thought. Having been released from Earth decades before the Core and Ring, the Confederation humans and the other species of the federation have developed advanced technology, but pale in comparison to The Core's capabilities and technology discovered from the millennia AI experimentation. Alliances form now and the cracks split the galaxy in two. Fit the weapons of war upon The Core and become the deciding factor in the war to engulf the galaxy. 7 Votes casted for this
A New Year for a new beginning. Earth is dead to us, they said. We have left Humanity's cradle and ascended to the stars without a single glance back. We are the second and the last to ever depart our home. Those we have abandoned are now left upon the barren wasteland known as Earth, left to rot in unending wars of squabbles and petty grabs at what remained. The embryos remain in stasis, safe in the Ring. Our target, Kepler-452b, still remains but a twinkle in the dark abyss we have waiting.
On-board Date: 2256 CE, April 25th.
We've achieved max velocity through the stars. The stars are simply blurred lines when we peer out the viewports, we may be the first humans to experience the bending of light from our sheer velocity, apart from the first expedition. In the past 2 years, 3 outbreaks of disease have taken exactly 128 of our crew, and another 53 from accumulation of radiation from the 8 sister fusion power plants at the core of... well, the Core. Preparations are nearing its end and we have begun the live stasis modules. Two embryos from the ring have perished, this may prove to be a problem in diversity once we arrive.
On-board Date: 4104 CE, May 9th.
1529 of the stasis crew never rose from their chambers. We're left with a minuscule team that dwindles by the year. Three years to decelerate the Ring and Core, hydrogen fuel runs low for our purposes. Supplies will no longer be an issue, oxygen runs clean now, for all the wrong reasons. Of the original 2000 crew, only 290 remain, the rest have now been given a burial, as close as it gets: their stasis pod and body has been jettisoned into the unknown, a testament to the sacrifices of humanity in our struggle to survive. The stasis pods have proven to be unsafe to developed humans such as ourselves. We swear amongst ourselves to never confine ourselves into the metal monstrosities known as Stasis Chambers again.
On-board Date: 4107 CE, August 14th.
They tricked us. They manipulated us. We were doomed from the start. Kepler-452b is an inhospitable ball in space, taunting us with lush wildlife that releases toxic fumes. The survey and fabricator team was lost 5 hours ago. They descended onto the planet, knowing their death approached. Soon after the pod launched, a holo-recording played on the main bridge of the Core. Seven centuries to terraform a planet into a human Gaia. The team's last member died as he transmitted the final bits of data to us. All we have left to do now, is click the big red button. The Ring will drop onto the planet and begin its terraforming process, for the next seven centuries. The embryos, in stasis, will emerge from the Ring, seven centuries later, and under the care of the Ring's AI, will be gifted the knowledge and technology of Old Earth along with the advancements made on the Journey of the Core and the Ring and continue the Human Legacy.
But... what of us? We've decided... that with the new technology we developed over millennia of AI experimentation aboard the Core, we will leave the Ring on Kepler-452b. Surely there must be remainders of the first expedition throughout the stars. The Eagle and Sickle, their vessel, must have left a trail, just as we did. We will find them and join our brothers and sisters, they must have shared the same fate we have. Perhaps they have found a place to call home. Those of us who have little faith have chosen to return into the Stasis chambers and remain with the Ring to wait for their awakening. Time will tell whether they survive or not.
While the theorized Alcubierre drive was only thought on Earth, we have made it a reality. Using the onboard synthesizer and construction drones, the old propulsion drive has been removed and remade into one that bends space around us, allowing us to travel indefinitely faster than light, although our fuel consumption would make this impossible. We have decided for a maximum of 5000 times faster than light, being the perfect speed to reach other stars quickly. The exotic matter required to run this marvel is being readily synthesized with the leftover hydrogen fuel. All we need now, is to top off the tanks from the nearby gas giant and a plot to the nearest beacon left by the first expedition.

TL;DR.
Aboard the Core and Ring, the embryos of humanity and a volunteer crew of 2000 reside, traveling to Kepler-452b. Earth has become inhabitable. On the journey there, many have died, leaving a minuscule crew of 290 upon their arrival. Kepler-452b turned out to be inhospitable with fauna that spews out poisonous gas that must be terraformed for 7 centuries. The survey and fabrication crew was killed upon landing and transmitted the data for it back up to the Core and Ring. The Ring is full of embryos and is dropped onto the planet to terraform it as well as raise the new humans. The volunteers of the Core and Ring from Old Earth have chosen to utilize newly discovered technology that allows them to travel 5000 times the speed of light to find the First Expedition that ventured out on the same mission, years prior, and their volunteer crew instead of waiting in the death traps they have come to loathe, known as Stasis Chambers. Some have stayed behind with the Ring to wait for their reawakening. Perhaps their predecessors have discovered a planet to call their own.

Roles:
While characters can have knowledge on other roles, characters have primary roles that they specialize in. They can take up secondary roles, especially if that role is missing. Ask me if you have any ideas for more roles that could be on the Core and previously Ring.
**The Appointed Leader - This role is used in conjunction with another role. Self-explanatory, but the leader makes executive decisions for the good of the crew. Be careful of tyranny.
Reserved By WiZ in conjunction with Captain.
The General Engineer - This role specializes in the fabrication and quality of the products coming from the fabricator. An error in an instrument could be fatal while inserting non-exotic matter into the Alcubierre Drive could destroy the entire ship.
Reserved by Inconspicuous in conjunction with Nuclear Engineer.
The Biologist - This role specializes in knowledge of the human and Earthen animals which are held and bred in the Core. Any medical problems could spell problems for the crew, especially if it is a disease.
I will be using this role in conjunction with Psychologist unless anyone objects or wants one of these. -Kian
The Chemist - This role specializes in chemical composition of anything in use in the starship. Responsible for making any medicines, salves, chemicals, etc. that have purpose on the ship.
Reserved by TheZanta
The Captain - The role specializes in piloting the starship. Any error in calculations could lead to a stray jump into a star or even out of the local stellar area.
Reserved by WiZ in conjunction with Leader.
The Navigator - The role specializes in interpreting stellar dimensions and triangulating the correct jump location. Like the Captain, any error in calculations could be
disastrous and lead to the death of the starship.
Reserved by Terra in conjunction with Astronomer
The Robotics Operator - The role specializes in operating the robotics around the starship. Robotics must be controlled with precision or it could risk installing a mechanism incorrectly or failure in regular maintenance of the starship.
Reserved by Silence
The Enforcer - The role specializes in enforcing order in the ship, making sure that no one goes outside of their bounds or causes mayhem. Insanity could occur at any moment and they have to be prepared with stun or lethal weaponry.
Reserved by Captain Cannonfists
The Nuclear Engineer - The role specializes in maintaining the 8 fusion reactors in the Core, ensuring a steady supply of energy to all parts of the ship. An error or oversight could lead to nuclear leaks or an explosion that could spell the end.
Reserved by Inconspicuous in conjunction with General Engineer.
The Astronomer - The role specializes in knowledge on stellar bodies, ensuring the starship does not travel through any hazardous space as well as composition of planets to extract more fuel and matter for the reactors and fabricator.
Reserved by Terra in conjunction with Navigator
The Psychologist - The role specializes in the human psyche, ensuring the crew does not fall into depression or hopelessness. Insanity could prove to be dangerous in a fragile starship in the void of space.
Check Biologist.
The Crew - The role is not a specialized role, but rather acts as the backbone of the entire starship by taking up general roles throughout the ship.
Shadelier - Koljander Endive: Cook and Gardener
Yoda - Lily Snow: General work and Armor
