Vices: cigarettes, alcohol. Personality: self sufficient, recluse, loner, sarcastic. Clara was born to Armina and Tomas Benavente and was the youngest of two children. She grew up in a working-class family who lived in the assisted housing portion of Brooklyn, New York. Her father was a burly man and worked himself to the bone to provide for the family, and while they did not have much, they were happy. That was, until one faithful night that changed their lives forever. When Clara was 10 years old, Clara’s father had returned home earlier than usual in a panic. He forced the family to quickly pack their things to leave in a hurry, but that would never happen. Clara awoke to find herself alone and her family slaughtered. Being the sole survivor, she had to learn how to live on her own until she was rescued a month later. Unbeknownst to Clara at the time, the attack that wiped out her family and should have done the same to her had awaken her powers which laid dormant in her DNA. She was moved from foster home to foster home until she came found her permanent home, the Cohens, at age 14 and gained not only parents but a foster brother and sister. As she ages, her powers become more evident to her and she soon realizes she wasn't like her foster siblings. She began to explore and improve her newfound powers on the streets of New York all the while keeping this part of her life hidden from her foster family. By the age of 18 Clara is a full blown vigilante under the name Aranea whom uses her skills to chip away at the elite through their underlings and further her search for answers.
