Starnacht beamed up at him "really?" They hadn't known each other all that long but already Star was very much attached. Kindness had a way of doing that
"Of course!" Vlad assured him. "I could not imagine life without you even though you have only been here for a short time. Unless, of course, you found another place that was better suited to you. I would be sad to see you go, but happy if you were happy and safe."
He smiled "When I see I never forget" he said none the less he started to lead the way back, sure enough he found his way back to the wagon where they had started "See, never forget"
"Very good!" Vlad praised. "I am impressed." He turned to face Satrnacht. "I will go to bed now. The wagon is unlocked, so if you need in for any reason or just want to be in, you can come in. I will be up shortly before dawn." He paused a moment. "Are you sure you will be alright?"
Star gave another nod "I know where to go if something happen" he assured "I am used to be alone, don't worry for me" thought it was nice to know that someone out there did care enough to worry about him. "Maybe tomorrow I stay up a little too" he said, he could come to be early perhaps
Vlad smiled. "That would be nice. I will stay up a little, and if you stay up a little, we shall compromise, yes? But for now, I should go to bed. Be safe, little one." He opened the door and stepped inside.
Star watched him go in before he started an another round to make sure everything was as it should be. No particular rout or destination, just going around the circus exploring while things were quiet
Keith was restless and board. He slunk around through the deeper shadows, barely sparing the customers a glance. He wasn't allowed to touch those, only if they got too nosey and into things they shouldn't. He liked the shadows. They were his domain!
Starnacht in the mean time was making a game of it hopping from shadow to shadow as he explodered and memorized where everything was and noted where shadows would be in daylight.
A bat caught his attention so with eyes more on the sky be started bounding through the shadows, jumping from one place to another until he smacked right into Keith, surprised Starnacht stumbled back and stared. Keith bad!
Keith tipped his head, his red eyes glinting in the low light, a slow smile curling his lips. ""Who is this?" he purred in a low voice. "What little morsel has come to play in my territory, hmm?" He leaned toward Starnacht. He'd seen this one earlier with Master Felix, but Felix hadn't said he was a part of the circus. Did that make him an intruder?
Star backed away, silver eyes widened "sorry.." he disappeared into the shadow again and appeared back behind one of the tents, little heart racing but glad he could move through shadow to evade him. Or so he thought
Keith's eyes brightened, and his lips curled into a new smile, one that would look right at home on a panther. He turned, his eyes following the trail Starnacht left behind, linking it to the new shadow. He cackled and took off after the little shadow fellow. A challenge! Prey! Oh, this was going to be fun! He slipped into the shadow near Star and hissed, "I don't think we were done, little tidbit."
Star jumped and so did his heart, he took off again, popping into a dark spot beneath the ticket stand, looking around more frantically to see if Keith had still managed to follow him
Keith sped along, keeping low to the ground, and slid under the ticket booth, his hands grasping for Star. "Come here, snack!" he snarled, his eyes still alight with the joy of the hunt.
Star was gone into the shadow an instant later, coming out once more underneath sometimes wagon, he jumped to two more places rather quickly but had to ause there to catch his breath and hope Keith had lost the trail
Wherever Starnacht went, he left a faint trail, invisible to most, but Keith was not like most. He followed the trail, grinning maniacally as he learned about Star with every choice. A hider. Short jumps. He would soon be able to predict where this little intruder was going! He pushed himself faster, his eyes on the little fellow and lunged forward once more, trying to grab him. He didn't expect to catch the little demon, but he'd still try!
