Conley Brothers

She nodded in agreement "I suppose some types of magic just don't work together" she pulled her feet up on to the seat snd grabbed a throw blanket to pull over herself, feeling a bit chilled. "What did that to him?"

"I'm not sure," Leon said, reaching out to help her with the blanket. "Felix is trying to figure that out now. He usually just watches the perimiter to make sure no one is sneeking around where they shouldn't be, but nothing like this has happened before.

She frowned a little "that's concerning...you dont think there's something dangerous out there now do you?" Her thoughts went to her new charge, scared and alone in that dammed cage. Maybe she would have it moved to be closer to her wagon

Leon shrugged. "Something dangerous in or out of the circus. We're so used to living with things like lions and tigers and fire breathers that we forget how dangerous they can be if not treated properly. Maybe one escaped, maybe something different came in from out there, who knows? But don't worry. Felix and I will look into it."

"I'm just worried about my charge...I don't want anything to happen to him.." she expressed her concern "I think I'll have his cart put over here by us...I'd feel better that way"

Leon shrugged. "Well, he is yours to do with as you please as far as I know, so if you think that's best, just talk to the troubadors."

She nodded "I think I will.." poor thing needs a lot of gentle care... " she worried about him and hoped she could help rehabilitate him but if anyone could it would be her.

"No I'm ok...I'll just have this and get some more rest...thank you Leon" she picked up the cup and held it in both hands, warming them up

"Alright. I'm going back to Felix to see if anything needs to be done. If you need us, just come and find us, orkay? Or give us a yell," he said, still worried but willing to accept she was alright.

She nodded "alright. I'm sure I'll be fine" she saif softly, an exhausting day followed by this? She hoped she didn't sleep in too late.

Felix was just finishing bandaging up Keith when Leon returned.

"Ok Keith...explain who or what did this to you"

"It was a little thing," Keith said, holding out his hand to indicate the height. "I saw him earlier, but I thought he did not belong. I tried to catch him. Slippery little thing slides through shadows, and then it slipped away into..." He hesitated, frowning. "A cage..." Was it the little shadow fellow who hit him? The blow had been pretty strong for such a small fellow.

Felix's thoughts went right to Vlad new little friend. Small and black it sort of made sense though he didn't think he was capable of this...but he did have claws and Keith might of scared him into attacking..

"I think I know what did it..show me to this cage Keith." Felix said as he stood

Keith whined but stood as well.

"Is that a good idea?" Leon asked. "He probably chased it near one of Adanya's pets and got too close without realizing it."

Adanya doesn't keep her animals in cages" Felox reminded him. The cats wagons were expanded on the inside to create proper habitats.

"You don't have to get close Keith just show me where" Felix prompted as they went out

Keith nodded and lead the way toward where he remembered chasing the little shadow. They arrived at the tarped cage, and he stopped a few paces away, pointing. He didn't mind getting closer, but Master wanted to look.

Claudius woke to the sound of footsteps. He lifted his head, listening, then sat up. Was it the thing that had chased the little thing into his cage?

Felix frowned and stepped forward before pulling up a corner of the tarp, he didn't see Starnacht at first, he cast a glance back at Keith "you're saying this one hurt you?" He raised a brow, to him, the dragon seemed harmless, scared pathetic thing

Claudius eyed Felix narrowly, shifting to face him fully. His gaze moved passed Felix to fix on Keith. Felix might be his master, but that one, the pale one, had threatened and scared him and he'd reacted instinctively, but now... something in him stirred. He was facing another predetor. Something he needed to fight, not cower before.

Keith nodded. "I chased the little thing here and it went in. I tried to catch him, but that was there. I didn't see it."

Leon raised a brow at Felix. That pathetic thing? It had cowered before them before, but now it was glaring at Felix. No, not Felix, Keith. "More or less now I figured. Keith startled a creature in its cage."

Felix frowned at Keith "you should know better than climbing into a cage" he lowered the tarp again "be more careful" he said simply. He could be cruel but he was also fair about most things

"Yes, Master," Keith said meekly, but his eyes were on the strange creature in the tarp until the tarp fell down and blocked his view. He would not be forgetting this any time soon. Yes, he'd be more careful. Far more careful.
