Conley Brothers

Star nodded a little and drew his hand back "you don't want for me to stay longer?" He asked. Concerned about his friend too

"I wish you could stay, but your safety is more important," Claudius told Star gently. "You should be safe. I will be alright."

"I am safe. Danger is gone now" he reminded "Vlad stop the evil. It is safe as before the evil. Maybe more?"

Claudius grunted doubtfully. "Something caused the evil. That something is still around. I can smell it." He huffed in annoyance. "And that is all I can do." He gave Star a crooked smile. "you think you are useless? I struggle to leave this cage! You are a hero next to me."

"Small steps" he said encouragingly "you are strong just need more confidence I think..maybe we fond confidence together hm?"

Claudius gently patted Star's head. "You are too kind for someone like me. I do not deserve a friend like you." He smiled at the little creature fondly.

He smiled "you are too hard on yourself" he said, fond of his bigger friend "you deserve so much good things!"

"And so do you." Claudius gave his shoulder a gentle nudge. "With so much excitement, Vlad will worry if you are gone to long. It is alright. I will be fine. And... thank you for coming to see me." He did not know how to tell Star how much it meant to him, so he fell quiet.

Star nodded "I will come tomorrow and see you" he promised before he stood up and waved.

The rest of the night passed quietly. Felix able to quiet the crowd and convince them it was all part of the show. Quite a bit of spent magic on his part but the people left happy

Vlad didn't wake until the morning. He sat up and looked down at the sleeping twins for a moment before shakily making his way down from the bed. He stood leaning on the edge. Camilla was here? Why was she here? What had happened?

Then he remembered and sagged slightly. Oh. Chib. Poor Chib. He ran a hand over his pale face and started trying to inch his way to the door. He needed to see if Chib was alright!

Camilla was a bit of a light sleeper though and woke when Vlad tried to pass her.

"Vlad?" She spoke softly and tiredly but pushed herself to sit up.

Outside Chib was asleep still. Adanya had fallen asleep there too, curled up next to Kaz

Vlad stopped and leaned against the counter to remain upright. "I am sorry. I did not mean to wake you," he said softly. "You can go back to sleep."

Kaz hadn't moved or slept that night. His mood had lifted, though, and he watched the sky lighten as the sun rose, humming softly to himself.

"You should be resting" she said shaking her head as she sat up fully "sit down before you fall Vlad please"

Adanya seemed content to lean against him a bit while she slept but the noise od the circus waking up was causing her to stir now, mumbling to herself

Vlad would have argued, but he found he did not have much choice in the matter as his knees started to buckle. He caught himself and turned the partial fall into a sort of graceful slide down onto a cushion. "Very well," he sighed, "I am sitting, but there is still so much to do!"

Kaz smiled at Adanya. "It is alright," he said softly. "Rest. Soon, you will be back home."

"Not for you" Camilla stood up, slow, as not to make herself faint. She still felt weak but well enough for now. "I'll make you some tea and breakfast. You just rest up"

"But still better than you" she said, teasing lightly but it was true.
She found him something to eat and brewed up some tea before she sat down again "Chib should be fine now thanks to you Vlad"

Vlad smiled and shook his head as he fiddled with his plate. "I am just sorry it had to be done. I hope he will be feeling better soon."
