Dark Stuides

Mary felt her breath catch in her chest and fear run through her as she felt the arms lock around her. It was hard to keep the tremble from her form.

She stared back at the demon, there was no mistake who he was. Then she narrowed her eyes at him, glaring at him. "Not in the least." She retorted back at him.

He cupped her cheek and rubbed his smooth one against her own, "What a pity... I must have some sour luck then when it come..." He was cut off when water surround the pair. A hand reached out of the water grabbed Mary's foot and dragged her downwards out of the demon's grasp. When she resurfaces she would find herself under a plum tree that was in full bloom. It's pale flower's petals drifting down to the human girl.

Back where the demon was Markus was finishing up the water prison just as Hexel appeared at his side. Using the warlock's shadow as a doorway, "Thank you friend," He told him as he patted him on the shoulder. He walked into the water prison and did what he longed to do. No one but the two demons would ever know what happened in there not to mention time passed slower outside of the prison. A matter of moments later the orb of water would crash to the grounds breaking the spell. Hexel stood there rubbing his cheek for a moment, "He could hit fairly hard but not enough to stop me. We should go get Mary now."

The water sprite nodded then lead the way to the tree.

Mary wanted to fight back, to do something but she just stood there in his hold. As the water took shape, relief and hope flooded her. Dragged from the grasp of the demon, she closed her eyes.

When she opened them again it was to be beneath a beautiful tree. For a moment she smiled. Quiet tears feel from her eyes. It was over. She hoped it was over. She watched the beautiful tree in the breeze quietly.

Hexel felt different but in a way that left him sure no harm would come to his mortal again. His movements were sharp and quick as he used the link he had formed along with his nose to find Mary. He pause on the upper ridge of the bank to stare down at her for a moment. She was beyond beautiful. His heart throbbed as he realized he was falling for this woman. He had known somewhere in his mind but only now had he truly allowed himself to realize his feelings.

"Mary." He called softly to her. The warlock and the fae were somewhere behind him. He crouched slightly on the upper bank. He didn't look human in the least. More like an avenging fallen angel. His long black hair the horns that crowned his head and his long tail flicking gently behind him.

She stared up at the tree, savoring the sight of its beauty and the sounds that the wind created in its leaves. There was no replacing the feeling of peace she felt suddenly, as if a part of her already knew the horrible demon was gone forever.

Hearing her name, she sits up and looks in the direction of the sound. A smile came to her lips instantly. Her demon. Not some terrible monster from nightmares, no. He was no monster in her eyes.

She wipes her tears away and moves to her feet, waving to him. "I'm okay."

He waved back slightly and waited for her to come to him. It was comforting to see how relaxed she was. Stretching he laid back on the grassy bank. The tree was comforting. Likely some humans thought another mortal had planted it but from they way it grew he could tell it had been planted by an immortal, "We should head home soon but I'm enjoying this a bit."

Moving carefully she headed towards him. She smiled softly as she reached him. "It's so beautiful out here...I've never been to this part of the woods before. " She says softly.

Sitting down beside him, she savored the quiet for a moment before she asked. "Is he really gone?"

Hexel hummed softly in agreement about the peacefulness. His gaze drifted to her, "He's as gone as a soul can be. He is part of me now. I feel it but at the same time I'm not influenced by him," He reached up and fiddled with one of the bit of gold that decorated his horns, "I'm not sure how to explain it further than that."

Sitting up he stared at her face, "This world is unfair but there is always a way to get what you desire or something close to that," giving a shrug he staredout across the bank of the creek. To him this was just a sliver of the actual world. There were many more to show her.

She let his words sink in. Tilting her head back to gaze at the sky for a moment before she turns her eyes to him. She smiled softly. "And what is it Hexel that you want? You've done nothing but protect me and be there for me since your release from that book." She sits up a little more and gently reaches out and touches his cheek.

There was no fear in her, not of him. His true form only reminded her that he wasn't human and it didn't trouble her. Instead she thought of his life and all he had dealt with thus far. She wanted only to give him something, do something for him. He had freed her of a dark nightmare that could have been much worse had he not been there for her. She would never forget that but also felt she owed him so much.

His eyes widened slightly at her question. What did he want? Her hand left him leaning a bit more into the gentle warth that only added to his own, "Let's say for now it is simply a matter of where we are."

It wasn't a simple answer and wasn't meant to be. He hated simple at times. His mother told him it had to do with who his father was. Sitri was the sort to be able to do damn near anything. It was simply a matter of doing so.

She tilts her head at his response, smiling softly to him. "What do you mean?" She asks curiously, her fingers gently stroking his cheek. She knew that eventually being human, she would pass away and he would be left alone ago.

Then again, was there a way for Markus to make her immortal and would Hexel want that as well.

He leaned closer to her, "There are three realms other than this one. I want to show them to you," he told her softly, "I'm a wandering fool at heart."

Mary smiled warmly at him and kissed him softly before pulling back to gaze at him. "Then let's explore. Let's wonder around together. " She smiles again. "I will love to see what you wish to show me though you'll have to teach me. I know very little of your world. You and the others are the few I've ever been around or seen before. I will love to learn."

He nodded slightly, "I will be happy to do that for you," standing he drew her with him, "Let's go finish this ill business then we will begin exploring."

She smiled happily to him and nods. "Sounds like a plan." She moves to her feet with his help. "Don't you think it safe to take Smokey with us or should we see if Markus would enjoy her company?" She asks curiously as they start to head back.

The male tilted his head, "I don't think Smokey would like traveling thought portals. It's a strange feeling," He explained, "Perhaps Markus will take her."

By the time they got home Markus was already there. The poor guy was exhasted and had passed out on the couch. Smokey perched on the back of the couch staring down at the man. The other two men were at the kitchen table speaking quietly, "We're home," The demon called out. It was only then he realized he was still exposed. His demonic form normally terrified people but they hadn't bumped into any one.

Mary smiles softly as she looked at the group.

Paul was on his feet and over to them instantly. "Are you okay? Did it work?"

Patrick was lingering back a little.

Mary nods softly, "It's over." She smiles a little then moves over to the couch where Markus was resting. Grabbing a blanket, she placed it over the warlock. Petting Smokey, she smiles softly.

Hexel flicked his tail slightly as he watched her chat witht he others. Her kindness was truly bountiful which he admired as she covered the sleeping warlock up. Markus was so out of it he didn't even stir. He had used a lot of magic the demon noted as he moved over to the plants in the room. he tested the status of the soil with the tip of a finger being pushed just under the surface of the earth. They were in need of a little water. Fetching a glass he filled it with water then watered the plants.
