Dark Stuides

She shakes her head a little. "It won't take that long. Just an hour or so. I should be back before lunch." She smiles a little then sighs, this meant she had to deal with people. She better wear long sleeves, her arms still had some rope rubs on them.

He nodded, "I will have it ready for you then when you get home," his smile was still gentle and caring.

She smiles and nods to him. Moving over to him she hugs him. "Thank you hun. I promise to be quick."

With that she got ready to go. Getting her backpack ready. Once she was sure she had everything, she headed out the door, giving him and Smokey a kiss each before she did.

Hexel was surprised when he was hugged. His tail flicked back and forth a bit as he stared down at her tilting his head to the side. He made her a cup of cocoa to take with her while she got her things. He handed it to her as she kissed him, "Be safe."

She smiles to him about his words telling her to be safe. Was that even possible for her anymore.

Making her way along the sidewalk she headed to the school. Once there, she made her way to her class room and apologized for being late.

Hexel glanced about as he tried to figure out what the hell to do for now. Glancing at the plants he set about setting them on the window seal and watering them. He would have to build a table for them at some point. After that he set about cleaning up any mess and making some cocoa for himself.

The class went simple enough. A lot of questions for the rest of the semester getting answered which helped and it all distracted her for a bit.

Once class was over the, the hard questions from her friends started. "Guy's I'm fine. Just been getting caught up on sleep." She says to them both.

Hexel after some time had managed to get his appearance back under control. Looking human again he scooped up Smokey and put her on his shoulders. He wanted to see Mary again to make sure she was safe. Stepping outside he used his power again to find her soul. Seeing he was early he sat outside the building on a stone bench. His long black hair drew attention as did the fact that he was far too relaxed to be a student. He heard Mary before he saw her. Standing he started walking towards her as he notice a bunch of people around her.

It took her a while to convince her friends that she was okay. They all seemed to not be very sure though. There was no other way to stop their worry but then again they had seen her in a hard state before.

She caught sight of Hexel and smiled when she saw him. Her friends caught her line of sight and an entire new set of questions started but there was less concern going in.

Tilting his head he rubbed Smokey's head as he got closer, "A cat wanted to see her mistress. Something about you're gone too much," he smirked as he glanced over the curious faces that gawked at him, "Mary. Tell your friends I bite before I have to."

He stood up straight again as he tried to figure out who's voice he had heard earlier on the phone. As well as possibly the male from the other night.

There were two males around her and one girl. All were staring at Hexel. The men were more jealous and the girl well jealous as well. She rolls her eyes at them. "Cassie, Mathew, Patrick, this is Hexel. He's staying with me. "

All three had their jaws drop at once. Mary rolls her eyes and nudges each one of them. It seemed to help them focus again as they nod.

Seeming as conversation was getting no where she says "We'll see you guys tomorrow." She grabs Hexel's arm and starts walking with him.

"I swear they are going to be drooling for weeks now." She smiled to him.

He smirk in a way that stated he understood all too well the effect he could have on people. When he was grabbed by the arm by Mary and promptly hauled off he smiled even more, "I didn't expect to have that sort of power over humans any more," He pulled her to him by his wrist, twisting her around as he did, he kissed her deeply no more than twenty feet from her friends. He wanted it to be clear. She was his.

"Let me carry those," He told her as he took the bag. Smokey meowed at all this.

Mary was blushing greatly after the kiss and walked at his side. "Should have know you would do that. " She said teasingly.

She reaches up and strokes Smokey behind the ears. "Hey sweet girl." She looks to him. "You realize that Mathew and Cassie are together and Patrick is gay..."

The demon blinked, "It's good that the man is gay," He didn't know what the term gay meant to this day an age. In his lifetime it meant happy, "As for the other two, they seem to make a good couple," He was drawing this conclussion from how the two were holding hands. Smokey seemed very happy now that she was being loved on.

She continued to pet Smokey and seemed to realize his confusion about the word gay. "He likes men" She says to him smiling a bit then looking to Smokey who was all to happy now.

She pauses a little when she saw a detective standing by a car. Normally it wouldn't be an issue but she knew the man. He was the one that had worked the case when she had been taken.

Paul was his name. "Hey Mary..I'm sorry to bother you right now." He glances to Hexel and the sight of her cat being there. " as soon as I found out I wanted to let you know. You have a right to know..."

She stared at him. "Tell me what?"

He hesitates then says. "The guy that took you...he wasn't the one we killed...there is now evidence showing that he is still alive. We don't know how, none of it makes sense but the facts are, he's still out there. I just want you to be careful." The guy had been like a father to her when everything had happened.

Hexel glanced at the male and thought about scaring him off but upon hearing he knew Mary he frowned, "Mary," He put his hand on her head in a protective way, "Perhaps we should talk at Mary's home," The demon was sure it would be safe to tell this man what happened. After all the girl next to him wasn't afraid of him.

Smokey hopped from his shoulders to Mary's arms.

Paul nods. "I'll give you guys a lift." He said and they headed to the apartment.

Mary was in a quiet state, holding on to Smokey. The man was alive, how was that possible? It confused her and scared her.

Once in the apartment she let Smokey down but the cat stayed near her.

Paul shakes his head. "None of it makes sense but the body disappeared from the morgue a week after we shot him. It's been years but they just know informed me that it wasn't a body snatch but that somehow the guy got up and walked out..."

Hexel's first car ride left him stressed and rather not talkative. He was gratefull to be back at the house. Stepping in side he made his way to the kitchen, "Tea?" He asked with his back to them only to spin around on his heel at the mention of the body getting up and walking out, "You said what?"

The demon was staring. Clearly he had an idea of what was going on.

Paul tenses a little not sure about the guy that was staying with Mary. He nods a but. "Yeah, he got up and walked out. He was hit in the chest but he still got up and walked out of the morgue. No one decided to tell me about it until now but apparently he is some where."

Mary wasn't feeling well all of a sudden and had sat down in the chair. " He won't come here though...you said he walked out a week after being shot....that's almost two years ago....he would have come here already..."

Paul shakes his head slightly. " Bodies with his m.o. have been showing up...trail has started to lead this way."

Hexel huffed as he moved over to Mary, "How much do people normally know about my kind?" He asked her softly. He clearly was thinking that this was a demon. Only demons and a handfull of other kinds of beasts could come back from the dead.
