Dark Stuides

She follows after him into the bedroom. Her mind still trying to push away the thoughts of the past. Not to fear that demon. Was that even possible?

When he asked her to strip, she knew it was for the ink. She closes her eyes and took a deep breath. No she was with Hexel, not that other demon. She was safe.

She removed all her clothes, trusting him completely. Her body was covered in the various scars from her torture of two years ago.

The demon gritted his teeth as he glanced over the scars on her body. They made him want to rip something apart. Telling himself to breath he knelt before her and placed his lips over a scar that ran over her stomach. He kissed it in such a way that would tell her he didn't find them ugly or distracting only that he hated she had to suffer for them. Pulling away he set about painting on her body elborate circles and marks that connected her and there and had a sort of writing here and there. By the time he finished her stomach, upper arms, neck, and ankles were covered. Whispering softly a spell the marks began to glow like the detective's had before vanishing as if never there.

"There should any demon touch you that you don't want touching you they will be momentarly stunned as if struck on the back of the head," he smiled at her then kissed her stomach again, "Now get dressed before I become uncivil for want of you."

She closes her eyes as he kissed the scar. She had kept so much hidden from everyone that not even her parents knew the depth of her torture. Only the doctors truly did and that was because they had to treat her.

When he began to paint her, she expected it to feel cool on her skin but it was warm and soothing.

Once done, she was amazed by it as they vanished and looked to him. She smiles softly again at his words and knew that if they didn't have a demon to deal with she would have let him be uncivil.

She gets dressed and looks at him. "Can we go check on Markus...I'm worried about him."

He gave nod as he moved to the kitchen. He washed the bowl quickly as letting demon blood sit tended to draw unwanted visitors. His gaze landed on the cat, "Let's go, Smokey," he called before the feline rusted over up onto the back of the couch then on to his shoulders. They seemed to be forming quite the bond. Moving to the door he waited for Mary.

She was trying to keep her mind focused. Moving to the door she pulls a jacket on and grabbed her keys. "Okay, I'm ready..." she says and walks with him. Once all this was over though, a vacation sounded amazing and she planned on letting go of her restraint and letting Hexel and her have fun.

Walking down the sidewalk she stayed at his side.

Hexel kept an arm around Mary as they walked. His guise had been pulled back on so that he looked human again. His brown- red gaze tracked every one and every thing. There was nothing he didn't notice.

Markus sat on the steps of his shop smoking a long stemmed pipe. His gaze was far off his hair a mess from running his hands through it. The warlock was clearly not in the best of situations. Slowly he looked at the two, "What brings you here?" He asked. A bottle of liquor could be seen at his feet most of its liquid innerds missing.

Mary was glad for Hexel being there and his arm around her. Still her eyes never stopped looking.

When they reached Markus' shop, the sight of him outside on the stoop, made her glad they came to check on him but she could feel his pain, it was so clear to see.

Gently she moved to the man. " We wanted to check on you after your phone call." She looks to Hexel a little then moved to Markus and sat beside him. To ask him if he was okay would be foolish. It was clear he wasn't. So instead she just hugged him.

She knew it may upset Hexel but she only saw Markus as a friend and part of her blamed herself for all of this. That demon was only there because of her now.

The already crumbling man crumpled into her hug as he started crying again. His best friend was gone and he couldn't do anything about it. Locket had protected Markus with his body to keep the demon away. In the end his was dead and the demon had been able to escape into the world.

Hexel felt for the male before him and closed his eyes, "I'm sorry Markus. I pray we find the demon." He could smell the blood.

Mary held Markus tightly. Her own fear was turning into anger. She wanted the demon dead and destroyed, to no longer be able to cause such pain anymore.

"We'll find him and he will pay for all he's done." She says softly to Markus.

Hexel could only watch as Mary comforted Markus. The pain the other man felt, hexel knew all too well. To loose something so close to one's heart was a pain worse than death.

Once she was sure Markus was okay and could handle the new information, she gave him the up date and all they had just found out. She wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do but she would have wanted someone to tell her.

She looked to Hexel for help explain some things about the demon they were dealing with.

Hexel huffed softly, "You should close up shop for a few days. As you have caused him an inconvience as have I he will try to come after you. Go somewhere safe," He states after some time. The demon wasn't good at this sort of thing.

Markus nodded his understanding to them, "You have my number should you two need me." He hugged Mary again before standing, "You two should go home and keep safe as well."

Mary returned the hug and moved down the stairs. Safe? What was that? No she didn't want to have to hide away in her apartment again. She just started going out again and visiting the park again.

She nods though to Markus "We'll be safe." She says and heads back home with Hexel and Smokey. Her mind on the demon though she wished it was on the one next to her and not the one hunting them.

Hexel noticed the woman's sade mood and quickly scooped her up into his arms, "You shouldn't be moping so much," He muttered, "Also you shouldn't smell so good while being so close to me," He nuzzled her neck then kissed it, "Cheer up, Mary the world won't be ending tonight."

With that he carried her off to the house.

She muzzled him back, relaxing in his arms. "I am worried for everyone and angry that this demon has done so much harm and destruction. I want him stopped." She murmurs.

Hexel paused for a moment as he stared down at her, "I can stop him but it would take things I'm not willing to take from humans any more," he kissed her forehead before continuing on down the street and into the house. Once there he set her on the couch as Smokey jumped down from his shoulders into her lap. Moving away he set about making some food for them as well as some hot cocoa.

Mary had become quiet after they had reached home and he started cooking. Smokey rubbed against her hand and purred softly to her, seeming to try and distract her but her thoughts were else where in time.

After a moment she looked to Hexel. "How can we stop him? Is it possible by other means?"

The demon paused for a moment in his cooking to glance at her, "There are other ways but it is the sort of thing that wouldn't go down quietly and would likely end up with casualties. Plus I would have to feed on more than just fear," He told her gently before glancing at the eggs and toast then serving them up. He poured the hot cocoa then set it on the table along with the light meal, "Why do you want to know?" He was curious now.

Mary was silent for a moment as she thought over his answer and how to respond. There was a lot she wanted to know but to simplify it she said " I want to know how to stop him. How to kill him." She looks to him.

Then adds. "What else would you have to feed on?"

The demon stared at her now, "Kill him?" The demon sighed, "I would have to devour him. His soul to be more to the point," the demon seemed a little uncomfortable with this thought, "The soul can't be killed simply contained or sent to purgatory," he began to explain, "A demon devouring another demon does that for us."

He took a breath and sat down, "In order for me to do that I would have to take more than just fear from you. I would put you in a state of bliss where lovemaking and pain tend to be one in the same," he was trying to explain something he wasn't sure how to as he hadn't ever experienced it.
