Dark Stuides

That warmth she felt towards him grew, not because he have her the ring but because he saw her. He saw beneath the scars and her past.

She smiles warmly to him. The ring was beautiful and she wraps her arms around him, kissing him softly again. "Thank you. It's beautiful. "

The demon smiled at her, "Let us get to the festival then," He left a small bag of coins on the counter for the shopkeeper who waved them off happily. More and more people were appearing more dressed up the closer they got to the center of town.

She smiles warmly and nods to him. Walking at his side, she headed out of the shop with him, waving to the shopkeeper. As they walked she gazed at all the different things as they moved. The decorations for the festival were wonderful to her. She was smiling, her hand holding his as they walked.

Some distance ahead the man from earlier stood staring out at maypole with many people dancing around it. It was a pleasant scene to watch. His expression was of mixed emotions. There was clearly pain in the tightness of his jaw that could have been sadness as well as a far off look as if he wasn't seeing the present before him but a distant past.

Hexel lead Mary up to the male and stood next to him, "She loved the festivals of the fae," Sitiri stated to them without looking at the pair, "She loved most of all the graceful dancing and how joyful they were no matter what the current state of affairs was. They could be in the middle of a war but they would come together with their enemies to celebrate their history."

Hexel nodded in understanding, "Was she happy till the end?"

The older demon looked to his son then, "She was happy but sad she didn't get to see you be happy before the end."

It was hard not to feel for the male. The pain he was feeling was nothing that she had ever felt but had seen. It was never the same though to feel it.

She wanted to offer comforting words to him but she wasn't sure how do to that. She looks to Hexel and then his father again. The two had lost someone so close to them. They didn't need to say who it was for her to know it must be Hexel's mother they spoke of.

Hexel gave a sigh as he squeezed Mary's hand, "You should enjoy yourself, Mary," He smiled, "I don't want to get you down with all the sad talk between the old man and me."

Mary shakes her head softly and hugged him. "I'm with you." She wasn't sure what else she could say to him. She wanted to ease his pain more than anything. Yes she was enjoying the festival but she was also glad to be with him ,no matter where they were.

He kissed her again. Sitiri smiled gently at the couple, "I wish you many years of happiness," He murmured as he hugged his son then Mary, "When you get to Hell, I welcome you to stay at my home."

Mary nods softly returning the hug then smiling gently. Then looks to Hexel a little. She hoped he was alright.

Then she looks around to watch the festivities a little. At least his father and him were not fighting and seemed to be getting along. She was glad for that, for Hexel.

Sitiri's stomach chose that moment to growl. His golden eyes widened slightly as his cheeks pinked slightly, "Any one else hungry?"

Hexel chuckled softly.

Mary smiles as she hears the stomach growl. "Food sounds great." She says. She was indeed already hungry again.

Sitiri nodded and glanced about for the food stands, "This way," He waved for them to follow. There were all sorts of foods being sold. Pork, beef, chicken, candies and other sweets, and so much more, "What do ya'll like?"

Hexel glanced to Mary, "What do you want, love?"

Mary blinks at all the food. She wanted to taste all of it but decided she better pace herself. She smiles to Hexel. "Something meaty sounds good." She usually wasn't so hungry all the time but right now she was and she had already eaten a good amount today. She ignored it though, probably just from the excitement and she did enjoy food.

Hexel grinned at her, "Well you heard her. Let's go over to that shop and take an outdoor seat if we can," He was pointing to a simple place that had low tables in which one would sit on tami mats and pillows. Sitiri talked to one of the waitresses who quickly lead the trio to a table at the far end of the porch with a great view of the dancing and main festivities. A small fire grill burn in the middle of the table, "This is the type of place were we get to make our own food," Sitiri explained as he handed her a sheet of paper that listed meats and vegetables as well as a few other items.

The two males dove right in ordering a pork and beef along with mushrooms as well as many other veggies.

She followed them to the table and sat down comfortable. The view was perfect and she watches curiously then looks to Sitiri as he explained the ordering process. She nods softly and smiles. It reminded her of some of the restaurants back home. She orders more beef and some pork with some veggies as well. It all smelled so good. She licks her lips a bit and smiles.

Sitiri and Hexel argued a little about how to cook the food leading to them having a little competition where Mary would be the judge. The meat made by Sitiri was sweet and spicy. While Hexel's was savory.

She blinks a bit as she became the judge of the two all of a sudden. It was a wonderful thing though as she tasted both. It was hard to judge though because though both were different, they tasted so good. She shakes her head a little. "I'm sorry guys...but it's a tie...They are both really good." She smirks a bit.

Hexel and Sitiri both burst into a bout of laughter, "That's about what we expected," Sitiri admitted, "Hexel learned to cook from me. We used to have his mother judge our meals all the time. She would say the same thing."

They ate slowly enjoying the evening and the conversations.

She smiles warmly and nods. This moment right here with them, it felt so relaxing and soothing. She enjoyed it and savored every second of it. It made her wonder how she had gotten so lucky. Then again hadn't Hexel and her saved one another.

She ate a good amount even for her but she didn't mind. When she was full, she sat comfortably and watched the dancers and the other festivities going on. A smile still on her face.

The two males chatted quietly for some time before they glanced up there was a change in the crowd. People were gathering around the square where brush was now being piled for a bonfire, "The main event is about to start," Sitiri murmured, "You will enjoy this as does many people," He told Mary.

Hexel nodded his agreement. As fae lined up and tossed flowers and herbs onto the brush pile. After a few had finished the clopping of hooves on stone echoed through the square. Astride eight white steeds road the royal families of the courts. The kings, queens and their heirs or rather firstborns. They were beautiful and graceful, "The first trio is the royal family to the court of Light. Second, Court of Darkness followed by the Court of Gaia."
