Main Event Fighting of the Spirit

Everything was a blur for Goro Majima. One moment he was going to deck the shit out of Nishiki, the next moment he found himself standing awkwardly with the group after it seemed like everything was handled in a flash. That's when a pang of pain resurfaced from his upper left arm, and maybe something a bit more than the demon power he's been using. Couldn't put his finger on it, so he literally had no idea.

❝ Gah... what the fuck... I feel like my body's gonna explode and shit... why is tha- ❞ Majima curses out loud after sounding like he was going to cough up a lung. That's when he noticed Yennifer with the used syringe, and he quickly understood what even happened.

❝ Shit, I actually went berserk back there... hope I didn't cause too much trouble with that. Guess that's why I can't remember anything besides really wanting to cave in Nishiki's skull... ❞ He then glances at the two Revanchist members on the ground, out cold. ❝ Uh, but looks like you guys beat me to it. Fine by me. ❞

The man merely gives Musujime a thumbs up once it was clear that she was going to help them into the Windowless Building, pulling out a lighter and a cigarette after recovering the remaining unused syringes that were scattered all over. He really needed a smoke to unwind right about now.

Seeing Majima transform, then disappear thanks to Yennefer, taking Bayonetta with her, Sophie's attention turned to Nishiki once more. While she no longer had much in the way of supernatural powers, nor was she a particularly strong fighter, her experience in combat, dealing with enemies stronger than her would aid her here.

Armed with a knife, one that she seemed to be using thehilt of in battle, she stubbornly faced off against Nishiki, either hoping to find an opportunity to knock him out, or at least... Buying her allies a little more time to do whatever was neccessary.

...

Schala in the meantime had much more on her hands to take care of. Between her barriers, and Meciless using the force, many of the explosive Skullshatterer launched would barely miss their initial targets. But it was almost like a strange power was pushing back. Whoever Skullshatterer was, they had some supernatural abilities of their own.

They were soon caught offguard though, by Buzzshock, and his small army of what seemed like duplicates, launching various objects at them. With lighting fast reactions, Skullshatterer switched to their black blades, igniting them as they glowed red, as if they themselves were burning. The blades carved clean through the bench, struggled a little with the vending machine and its contents.

Then came the van.

Skullshatterer reached for one of their grenade launchers, creating a fiery explosion, followed by a sudden burst of ice, freezing the ground around them, but they weren't able to entirely prevent the object from slamming into their body.

That shimmer could b e seen again, and part of their gas mask shattered, revealing a familiar eye, with a distinct, orange iris.

An aura of fire seemed to radiate from the eye... As a more recognizeable voice spoke.

"Heh... That was... Fun... I admit, I had fun entertaining you. But... It's time... To end this. I, Skullshatterer... Will be taking that girl now!" A distinctly feminine voice cried out.

It was then that Sophie, finding a brief opening in her battle with Nishiki finally turned around, and saw Skullshatterer's partially revealed face.

"C-... Cinder?!"

But whoever Sophie had thought was Cinder didn't seem to respond, save for the exposed eye closing for a moment, then opening again, as a distinct change in pressure seemed to take place, Meciless might have felt a minor shift in the air, as if there was a disturbance in the force, but... Yet, different somehow.

And then, a rumbling started, as objects were forming out of the smokescreen. Schala barely had enough time to shout.

"Get down! Her magic, it's strong! I don't know if I can defend against this!" She shouted.

It was soon clear what she was talking about; large, crystaline shards of varying color formed from within the smokescreen, glowing brighter and brighter as a cascade of embers emanated from them. The air itself was growing hotter and hotter, but in that brief opening she had, Schala remembered that dreamstone she held with her.

Its power resonated all of a sudden, thanks to Cagliostro's sudden replication of its properties, even in another location.

For just a moment, the dreamstone's pseudo duplicate, and the stone itself connected, pulsating with an ancient power. And it was then, that Schala had a moment of clarity. And then, Schala began to sing, her voice settling on a single, almost alien sounding tune, each note resonating with the crystaline shards gathered around them, delaying their arrival for just a few moments.

"Now! Give her everything you have! I'll protect you!" She shouted to the others.

As the woman who had once called herself Skullshatterer prepared to unleash hell amongst the group, Schala delayed her motions for just a moment, granting both an opportunity for the others to strike their enemy down... And Schala to create a strong enough barrier.

But would that alone be enough?

Whatever the case would be, both sides would be taking a gamble. Though, given the Coalition's strength in numbers, maybe just maybe... They could be victorious...

As Misaka's voice suddenly cut through the battle like a hot knife through butter, the sound of what seemed like a coin being flipped into the air subsequently rang through the field. In that instant, Touma knew what was going to happen from here, and not even he dared interfere, stepping back as though to give the girl a wide berth for what she was about to do.

Indeed, a silver coin could be seen flying into the air, before dropping down once it stopped rising. Misaka outstretched her arm, her hand balled up into a fist save for her index finger, held back by her thumb as though preparing to flick her finger. As electricity surged around her form, she waited for the coin to reach her again, and when the time was right...

BOOM!

In the blink of an eye, a blinding light suddenly shot forward from Misaka's position. Using her power, she had shot the coin forward at ungodly speed, such a display easily breaking the sound barrier and creating a groove through the desert ground as it left pure destruction in its wake. On the receiving end of the full brunt of the coin's supersonic journey was Skullshatterer -- or rather, the woman known as Cinder Fall -- as its sheer velocity and magnitude was able to practically propel her through the air and crash painfully into Nishiki, just in time for Yennefer to inject the syringe into Majima.

This was the power of the Railgun.

In an instant, the two Revanchist agents were disposed of, no longer moving as they were on the ground in no time. Despite working with the younger girl as ODMA agents, Sion couldn't help but let out an almost impressed breath, looking over the two downed hostiles as she stood next to Misaka.

"Are they...?" The lavender-haired young woman braved to ask as the scene began to calm down.

"Don't worry. They're just out cold. Might not be walking for a few weeks unless they're taken good care of though, and that wasn't even a tenth of my full power," the girl said with a wry smile, as though unable to help but take some pride in her extraordinary power.

"Uwooh! As expected of Biri-Biri!" Touma exclaimed excitedly, more openly impressed than Sion despite having known Misaka for even longer, and in conjunction, knowing of what she was capable of. Maybe he was just happy to not be on that receiving end of her power for once.

If Sion's reaction made Misaka puff up with pride, Touma's deflated her in turn, the girl letting out a breath as she looked away briefly. "Like I said, it was nothing..." She said, brushing aside some stray hair.

"Oh thank god, they're dead as shit," Musujime uttered erroneously behind the rest of the group.

As everyone made their way back to the exterior of the Windowless Building of Academy City, the scene undisturbed practically, they were finally able to get back on track for the mission. But before that could happen...

"Is everyone alright? It is fortunate that we managed to come out on top against the Revanchist this time, but we shouldn't rely on fortune too much," Sion said flatly. "In the meantime, we may as well take these two into custody. Can we get a transport for these two to Coalition HQ?" She said, asking her question into the group's comm link.

"Yes, you may," Fiamma's voice responded in the communicator, before pausing and speaking again. "... Once I figure out how to do that."

"... You don't know how to do that?"

"There are a lot of buttons on this console. Maybe I should ask Ms. Kirigiri, but I wouldn't want to bother her..."

"I-In any case..." Touma breathed, looking to Musujime. "A deal's a deal, isn't it?"

"Yeah yeah," the twin-tailed girl responded, exhaling deeply before twirling the flashlight in her hand nonchalantly. "I don't know a lot about why you people are here, but I do know you're pressed on time, and I don't wanna see any of you people ever again after this. Are you all ready to go in then? All aboard the train to the Windowless Building."

As the crystals were delayed, Meceliss took a deep breath in and used Force Bellow against Skullshatter. While she wasn't as good with this power as a four-throated Ithorian, it was still ear shattering loud. More than likely holding Skullshatter in place just long enough to be killed by the Railgun. Not that it made any difference, it was obvious these people were quite capable on their own. Oh well.
 
Severa hadn't contributed to the fight all that much, but she liked to think standing there and looking pretty was helpful. Somehow. Ugh, whatever. She decided to make herself useful post-battle and heal anybody injured in that scuffle with her staff. "Yeah, I'm good to go. Let's get this stupid mission over with already..."

The boy was about to respond when the ground beneath the three of them suddenly rumbled and exploded upward. The three collapsed through, landing on top of Billy, Frank and Piper. Dust exploded out from them and filled the hall.

Down the hall, Kyosuke and Wynne exchanged a look, before bringing the others to the commotion. As the dust settled, it seemed no one was greatly hurt.

"The hell was that--!?" Piper exclaimed, brushing dust out of her hair with both her hands.

Kyosuke narrowed his eyes at the new boy, Mithos. "Who is this?"

The boy stood to his feet and blinked at Kyosuke. "I-I'm..."

Wynne looked to Piper. "Is this the boy you saw?" she asked,

Piper looked him up and down, placing her hands on her hips. After a moment, she shook her head. "Nope. I think he's one of the kids who live on the lower floors."

The thing on FF's face hissed like a cat and jumped off to land on the ground.

As it turned out, it was in fact a cat.

“Wh-what the...! That’s an actual cat!! What’s a cat doing here!?”

FF contemplated for a bit. Atroe’s body is screaming for FF to pet the cat, but FF wants to complete the mission at hand.

“Lapis! Rain man! We shouldn’t be distracted by that fuzzy wuzzy little furba- ahem, I mean cat, we need to find the great spirit and see if it’s safe!”

Libra groaned, sitting up as he allowed his head to stop pounding from the fall. "Is...everyone alright?" He was ready to heal if needed, though the attention on the boy had him speak up. "We found him on the upper floor," he said. "He says he lives on Knowhere and was looking for his sister." There was unease in his voice, even as Piper cleared his name. At a time like this, the last thing to do was trust easily.

❝ ... the cat senses something off. I'll go take a look for myself. ❞ Lapis lazily looked over at the cat that they've run into, and then trailing her eyes toward the general direction that the cat was worked up over. For a moment, she covers her face with the inside of her elbow to sneeze, but once that was over with, she began to carefully walk down that specific hall.

"There was an explosion," Kyosuke said.

"Yeah, what the hell?"

"I don't know what's going on," the boy said. "I was just looking for my sister. I think she wandered up here. I... need help."

"It's dangerous up here," Wynne said, sounding sympathetic. "I'll escort you home and the others can look for her."

"B-But... she'll be scared! She might only come if it's me!"

It wasn't too long before the pair found a strange device attached to one of the vault doors. A red light on the device beeped slowly.

The cat had followed behind and was now hissing at the device.

A flash of light shone over the Buzzshocks as they merged back into Ben.

"Good job, everyone," Ben says, then turns to Schala, "don't think we could've done it without you, guess every team will always need a good defense with every good offense the Revanchists throw at us."

He then looks towards the Windowless Building.

"Let's not waste any more time."

"What exactly are you doing here? It is strange to see that this organization would recruit you, even in such dire times," Cagliostro says to Little My, "but I suppose I have to admit that your durability isn't something to scoff at."

"Your sister huh?" Frank's guns were aimed squarely at the boy. "If you're not up with anything...you wouldn't mind if I stared into the depths of your soul to wage all of your sins against you, right?"

"Okay, I'm 'bouta teleport you all inside, so hold on to your asses," Musujime said, beginning to point her flashlight toward the team, and as she turned it on and pointed it toward you all, with a swift FWOOSH sound and the blink of an eye, you were no longer standing outside the tall building in a dark city. You were somewhere else entirely now.

No, you were in a massive chamber of a room, filled to the brim with strange markings on the ground and walls, otherwise entirely empty excluding a massive cylinder in the center of the room, filled with a nondescript liquid and a person floating upside down within it, white hair and green garment fluttering slightly.

"Ah, is it that time already?" The figure spoke, staring with a non-changing expression on his delicate features. "I'd been waiting for you, passengers from the future. Though, admittedly, I expected a much smaller group," he went on.

"Aleister Crowley..." Touma murmured, recognizing the figure from his own world. The Chairman of Academy City was mostly only known by reputation to those of Touma's world, but he wasn't like most other people after all. "Are you holding the Great Spirit here? For what purpose?" He braved to ask.

"There is no need for your undue apprehension, Touma Kamijou," the man identified as Crowley responded. "The Great Spirit Muzét is indeed here, but it isn't as though I kidnapped her. A better way to word it would be... she happened upon my city while traveling back to seek solace, and now here I am, holding her here for safekeeping. For your arrival," he explained calmly, not a single rise in his inflection. "I abhor all products of magic, and those born of magic, but even I am not oblivious to the stakes involved here."

"What...? But, how could you know?" Touma continued to question. "What are you, omniscient or something?"

"From your standards, perhaps. But not even I could have foreseen how crucial this moment in time is. It's amusing, even," Crowley said humorlessly.

"And so? Where's this Muzét anyway?"

"I'm right here."

"Guwaaagh?!" Touma reeled, startled from the sudden unfamiliar voice that just spoke behind him.

Indeed, floating just behind the group was an unfamiliar looking woman. She had a much more humanoid appearance than the other Great Spirits thus far, and yet, there was no mistaking it. Just from the power overflowing from her alone, it was easy to say, this was the Great Spirit Muzét.

With a girlish giggle, close to unbefitting of her almost mature appearance, Muzét spoke again. "Oh, my. Did I startle you? Apologies," she said, her form floating in the air nonchalantly as she eyed up the team. "So many people on the lookout for little old me? Dear me, what's a girl to do?"

Little My, being the clueless one she is, completely ignores Muzét, instead focusing all of her attention on Crowley.

“Mr. Great Spirit? Why are you upside down?”

She gasps.

“Do you know everything? Is that what great spirits do? What’s up with that crazy girl? She called me a dumpster hooligan, and for me that’s a new one, I usually get ‘gremlin’ or ‘vermin’. I also don’t get why she believes in time travel, the dunce. Also, this is a fancy jail cell you got! I mean, technically speaking the great spirit needs to be put somewhere safe, so what’s safer than a jail? And I get you have your accommodations and...”

It just won’t stop.

Chise grunted softly, surprised by the sudden...explosion? Either way, she wasn't hurt, and luckily no else seemed to be injured.

"Libra's right, you can't stay here. We'll do what we can to find her, you have my word, but the possibility of you getting hurt trying to find her is too high." Chise tried to reassure the boy, though quietly eyed Frank's guns with slight confusion and, in all honesty, weariness. She understood his reasons for being distrustful but it was a bit much on an emotional level.

"This will sound odd, but is there a chance you have something that belongs to her on you, by any chance?" She asked, and knew it was unlikely. If this boy was telling the truth and wasn't the Revanchist member they were looking for, she could try to track down his sister by scent, if not, well...she didn't know.

"He's not the Great Spirit, she is." Shigure corrected, motioning to Muzét for emphasis. At this point he wouldn't bother trying to let Little My know that they actually traveled back in time, though hopefully she wouldn't go trying to erase others' existence the rest of their time in the past.

The boy turned to Frank and looked at him defiantly for just a moment, but Wynne intervened. "Come on now, dear," she said, offering him a hand. "I'll take you to the infirmary." He seemed to hesitate again, but Piper knelt down next to him.

"Don't worry, buddy," she said with a smile. "We got this."

Mithos nodded after a moment. "Here," he said, offering Chise an amulet. He then let Wynne walk him away.

Kyosuke stood wordlessly, watching them go.

The cat took a few careful steps toward the likely bomb and pawed lightly at the side of it. On the side were two wires, red and blue.

FF looked at the wires, the gears turning in her brains, before an idea came into her head.

Using Foo Fighters, two plankton came out of FF's fingertips. There, the plankton began to gnaw at the red wire, hopefully not exploding the bomb.

"I'm eating the red wire!" FF shouted, "Am I doing this correctly?"

Before Ben could complete his sentence, he looks towards the Great Spirit.

"Well, a girl's gotta run from those Great Spirit Hunting guys I guess. Severa's right, they're out to get you and your pals - or they will - they are- UGH! Anyways, it's great to see you in one piece and unharmed..."

Ben then looks around.

"... so uh... how do you two spend your days here? Doesn't seem like much to do."

"Your house is quite interesting, Aleister Crowley," Cagliostro responds, "but it appears that we have pressing matters to prioritize. Quite a shame, considering how research-worthy this place is."
