Flames From the Past (1x1)

She smiles warmly and nods. "Forgive me if it takes me some time to get used to not calling you sir. " She nods again. "Thank you for coming and for your words."

Nodding again Nichi stood then vanished from her shoulder. Molly came over and wrapped her arms around the other female, "I'm sure you are getting tired by now. Go relax if you need. I'll wrap things up and send people home," She hugged her gently then headed to chat with a few others who were about to leave.

Monica nods softly to Molly. "Thank you for all of this." She smiles again, hugging the female back.

She watches Molly a moment then makes her way towards the bedroom. Once there she relaxed after shutting the door.

Once the door closed a voice would cut through the silence of the room sharply, "It's about time I got a moment to speak to you," The man that had vanished from the front door earlier sat on her bed stretched out leaning back against the headboard and pillows, "You are jewel when you are enjoying yourself," His eyes glowed gently in the low light that filtered in from the bathroom. They were a shocking shade of blue, "Come sit with me. We have much to chat about and little time before that bird boy wonder figures out I'm in here," He patted the bed next to him.

At the sound of the voice she jumped a bit in surprise. She stares over at the male. Tensing a little she shakes her head slightly. "I'm comfortable standing." She says and moves away from the door a little and towards the dresser to pull out a pair of pj's but didn't start changing as she turns to look at him. "Who are you?" She wasn't sure if it was her exhaustion making her so bold or her unease. Either way she knew she could actually shy or afraid right now. It was a gut feeling that nagged at her.

The man gave a shrug, "Call me whatever you like," He murmured, "This would be easier if you sat," Sitting up he swung his legs over the side of the bed, "Let's say that things have been more than just a little strange these past few days. I'm sure you have questions about how things work and why things aren't adding up."

He rubbed his hands together clearly showing discomfort, "I'm not good at this sort of thing, kid. Never have been. I'm not a touchy sort. Just your every day devil that enjoys to keep every thing on its toes," A heavy sigh escaped him, "Alright let me start over. I'm Lucius Mephisto. You can call me Luc or Lucius."

He ran a hand though his hair.

She stared at him. If it had been any other day she would have thought he was lying to her but no, she knew he was telling the truth.

Him and an archangel all in one night....what was going on? She felt sick to her stomach a bit now. Sitting down was a good idea. She moved to the bed and did just that. Sat down.

Taking a breath then she looked at him. "Why do you want to talk to me?"

He stared at her now that she was closer. Part of him was hoping that seeing her would disprove all the little whispers that lingered in his realm that there was something of him in the earthly plane. Seeing her up close now he realized it was true, "What was your mother's name?" He asked softly as he leaned forward to rest on his arms, "Around 26 years ago I think," He gave a shrug, "To be honest when you live as long as I have you aren't too clear on the passage of time... Anyways. I had a fling with a woman and never saw her again. About 6 years later there was a rumor floating around that a child had my ability and had used it. I never was able to find that child. The rumors died down quickly after that. Till earlier today. When a demon came to me and handed me this," He showed her a picture of her and her mother before the fire, "This is you isn't it?"

Every part of her wanted to deny what he was telling her. To call him a liar but some how she knew he wasn't lying about this. She paled a little as she listened to him. Could her mother have stepped out on her father? She wasn't sure. Her memories seemed to be jumbled at times.

As he showed her the picture though, tears came to her eyes. It was the first time she had seen her mother since the fire. She nods weakly. "That's momma...and me..." she murmurs.

Niel had gone to Molly after everyone had left. "Great party." He smiled a bit.

The vampire smiled at the man, "It was a lot of fun. It's been so long since I did that sort of thing for some one," She gave a shrug, "I miss it at times. The feeling of being human again where no one cares if I'm interested in them simply for the sake of having a meal.

Meanwhile in the bedroom, "Keep it," He stood, "I'm sure we both need time. I'm not going to tell you want to do like those people in there are. They don't know what you have inside you and you should choose what you want out of this life you have," He pulled a card from his pocket and held it out to her, "Should you need anything I'll be but a call away."

Niel nods. "In a way I can understand that. When I came home from deployment it was hard to figure out what being human meant anymore. "He shrugs a bit.

Monica held the picture so gently, afraid of losing it. She looks up at him and accepts the card from him. "I...don't even know what I want in this life....until just a few hours ago....I thought a demon had killed my parents...but now...it's looking like I did.." she held both the picture and the card to her.

She felt confused, broken and unsure of what to make of all that had happened in the past few days.

She looks to him again. "Does Dustin know?" She needed to know what Dustin knew as she recalled that he had warned her. Was this why? Or was it simply because of who he was?

The male rubbed his head, "Honestly likely not. He told you to stay away from me didn't he?" He laughed, "It's fine if he did. The angel is simply doing his job. He's suppose to keep souls that can be corrupted by me. I can't effect you or you would be lustful for me. Or asking me for the vice you have," He rubbed his neck slightly, "Look, kid. Don't let what you are define you. That's the one thing I will ever tell you to do."

Molly patted the man on his shoulder, "It takes some time but we realize at some point that we are still as human as we were the day were were born."

She arches a brow and looks at him, managing to smile slightly. "I know you are way older than me...but please stop calling me kid." She nods a little. "Thank you...for talking to me....and for giving me this." She looks to the picture. "Lost all the pictures in the fire..." She smiles faintly then nods. "Thank you again." She felt so tired all of a sudden. So much to process but she figured he was right. She had to decide who she wanted to be in this world.

She wanted more answers though about the fire. No, she needed to know. It would have to wait though for until she was ready to get that answer. Having him come and talk to her though, told her that he had nothing to do with that day, unless he lied but she didn't think he was about anything he had just told her.

Niel nods and smiles. " That is true." He looks around a little then pauses as he glances to Dustin, then back to Molly. "I'm gonna just do a check of the area before I turn in for the night. I'm guessing she is already sleeping by now."

Lucius nodded slightly, "What did she name you?" He felt rather low on the chain when it came to be a good father. Hell was his domain after all. There was little he as a man could do to become a good man much less a good father. The sounds outside the room had died down telling him his time was running out for now, "Keep in touch, dove." He said right before he vanished from her room.

She smiles a little. "Monica." She says. Then nods to him as he told her to keep in touch. She would too because she knew down the road she will have more questions.

She stared at the spot he had been at for a long moment before she got up and got out of the dress and into her pjs. Sleep pulled hard at her. She looks around the room and suddenly realized she hadn't seen Kiki in a while.

Niel did his rounds about the property. Everything seemed to be in order and no one was lingering around that he could see.

He thought back to what he found out. She was all alone in some mental hospital for all those years. Something about it wasn't adding up though.

A lanky female sat out by the pool. Cat ears and two tails. Her hair and fur were a deep black. An ear swiveled towards Niel before she glanced at him those large green eyes would have told him they were familiar. She patted the stone she sat on with a hand who's fingers looked more like claws than nails. She was dressed in a simple dark green cameo and black shorts. Her bare feet were dipped into the water of the pool, "Kiki is happy to be here," She murmured softly, "She thanks you for being here too." Her smile was gentle and true.

Dustin glared slightly at his phone something had been feeling off since Monica went to bed. He huffed as he waved bye to those still awake in the house and left. He would sleep on it for this night. It was best.

Molly and Emma left a little later.

Niel moves over to the female. He relaxes when he realized who it was. Sitting down beside her. He smiles a little at her words. "I'm glad she is happy, though I'm not very sure what help I'm gonna be. "

Monica fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. The sleep was deep and she managed to stay on a soundful one for several hours.

The feline titled her head as she pulled her knees to her chest. Her tails brushed his arm, "Things will turn out fine," She says softly. Her green eyes stared out at the moon that reflected on the pool water. A soft humming came from her as she stretched a moment later, "You are helpful. You are the last human that knows her for now," She put her fingers to her lips indicating this wasn't supposed to be talked about. Kiki only turned into her human form once at the full moon and at night. Leaning back she sighed as she stared up at the star studded sky above, "You should sleep too soon."

He nods a bit. Talking to the female had been relaxing. "I'll see you in the morning then." He said and moved to his feet.

It was hard to place the peace of mind he felt but it was there.

Moving inside, he checked on Monica and saw that she was sleeping soundly. He goes to his room and gets ready for bed before passing out as well.

Kiki stared up at the sky for time before she got up and went over to the god's home to pray for a moment before getting up and heading inside. She moved into Monica's room and sat on the other side simply watching her sleep for now, "The truth is painful no matter how you feel about it."
