"I am Alucard."

Riesbyfe06.png

"... Hooh? An interesting name to go by."

Inconceivable.

That was the first thought that had crossed Riesbyfe's mind. She had her deep suspicions already that he was, dare she say, a vampire, given the signs, but... to claim, and so casually at that, to be Alucard, as in the son of the myth himself, Dracula, was something that the female knight couldn't have predicted. Of course, while she had come across a great many vampires in her line of work, Dracula himself was but a myth. At least, as far as she and the Holy Church were concerned.

"I am Riesbyfe Stridberg. A Holy Knight of the Church, and a hunter of creatures of the dark, children of the night, whether they be vampires, demons, ghouls, or others."

All that in mind... Then, there were two theories feasible to Riesbyfe. One, "Alucard" was but an alias, perhaps adopted by this individual who admired the myth in some way. Two, this truly was the Alucard of myth that she'd stumbled upon, perhaps explaining his reflection being cast in the glass unlike a normal vampire, and by extension, she had just made a rather significant discovery for the Church. Either way, one conclusion was constant.

"And for an inhuman creature like yourself, you come off rather benign, don't you? Quite devious, but then... Perhaps those kinds of vampires exist somewhere. That is before they sink their teeth into their victims to draw out blood."

"Good morning... knight"

ApHOQpC.gif

The loathing was not hidden in her tone - instead, it nearly dripped from the edges of her lips as she looked up at the much taller woman. Sure, Road did not know this woman, but the Earl had once said that all warriors of the Church were the same, and Road had no reason to believe that that tradition didn't span the multiverse. She didn't want it to. She needed to vent her sorrows and... anger.

'Good morning' was how any member of the family of Noah greeted anyone, but in her world, any Holy Knight would know it was a death threat. Road didn't care if this Knight came from a world that waged war with her family or not... she would return to her's with fear for the name in her heart.

It was just one of those things where you look at someone and think, 'wow, I don't like them.'

"I don't suppose your killings are done in the name of a God, are they?"

Road had now gotten almost uncomfortably close, not even paying attention to the obvious Vampire that had turned the Knight sour only moments ago. The tone in which Road had spoken was... venomous. As if the teenager was ready to start swinging in this cage at that very moment... and, she actually might, but right now... she just wanted to make the Knight as angry as she was.

"Cries of the just mean nothing when they're gutted in the name of God, am I right?"

Riesbyfe15.png

"... Huh?"

However, before Riesbyfe could finish speaking to Alucard, she was interrupted by a rather ominous figure, coming off as possibly a bit more hostile towards Riesbyfe than she had been towards the dhampir. It seemed that back then, Ries had spoken too soon when coming to believe that everything would go swimmingly well enough for as long as the objective of getting out of this place was what remained in focus... but then again, perhaps she shouldn't be talking at all.

In either case, it was quite clear that this person, whoever she was, had some sort of strange grudge against her, if only for the garb she wore. Just as Holy Knights weren't often revered openly, as far as she was used to, they also weren't used to being scorned either. They were always seen as little more than keepers of the peace. Sometimes, their methods clashed with what others had believed to be the most effective, but even so, what could have happened for this person to develop this sort of grudge, the silver-haired woman had to wonder...

She took a somewhat uncomfortable, yet wary, step back when Road got close to her, maintaining a stern look.

"I know not of who has wronged you in your past, but as a Holy Knight, it is my duty to slay the unholy, wicked creatures of the night, not only in the name of God but to protect the safety of the good people who would be tormented by such monsters," she said, attempting to remain civil, "And as such, the wicked are all I have quarreled with. By extension, you best hope that you are not wicked yourself as well."

And then... Faster than she realized, quite a grouping had amassed. If people had seen the manner Road had approached Riesbyfe, they would have likely also seen her own approach towards Alucard, but that seemed to matter little to them at the moment.

Raising up a hand, Riesbyfe interjected herself back into the exchange. "Sir Joshua, Kent, Miss Azura, and oddly dressed man of color... While I appreciate the gesture, this girl's quarrel seems to be with just me, and I am more than willing and capable of dealing with this matter by myself," she spoke, lowering her arm with that, "I am a knight, after all. Not a damsel."

With that, tentatively hypothesizing that whatever situation that would have risen was defused if not postponed, Riesbyfe turned her attention to the other individual who had partaken in the ordeal. Nashetania.

"So then... Speaking of creatures, what are you? You don't look very human to me, and those ears... A rabbit familiar? I mean, I've seen horse familiars so perhaps it's not unheard of..." Riesbyfe cleared her throat, "Where is your master? Given how tall you are, surely you must have a high output of magical energy..."

"... And how well endowed you are."

Alice was silent for a while, content merely people-watching as the scientists did. Everyone was so calm about all of this...it made no sense! Even Travis had been so okay with the abduction, everyone had but Alice.

221954920030201.jpg

Hearing Miku, Alice couldn't help but respond. "Optimism..." Alice repeated that word, the first time she had in years. She stood up, looking at Miku, and she couldn't help but feel a twinge in her heart. The poor thing was so young, so hopeful...Alice had seen the same youthful hope in the eyes of many aspiring assassins, usually replaced with pain after she cut them down where they stood. She couldn't help but wonder if Miku would experience the same fate. If she herself would, here. If she wasn't careful, she could be executed without a second thought for causing.

"I've been watching everyone here, listening to how they all talk to each other," she continued. "Everyone comes from a different walk of life, with what must be a different idea of what is normal and what isn't. I'm guessing your life...it was-is-very happy, isn't it? Won't you...tell me about where you come from? My name is Alice, by the way." Glancing at the others around, she added, "All of you-you are all very different than the people I've known. I would like to hear more about you all as well." Alice tried forcing a smile to go along, but there was no joy in her at the moment. She would play their game, for now, these scientists, these kidnappers using them all as zoo animals. If it meant getting out of here, she could play nice.

Linda looked over at the other man who had approached them and introduced himself as Rock. "I'm Linda Martin, Hollywood Psychologist," she said, muttering the next bit quietly. "I'm also the Devil's psychologist..."

"Charmed," Ada said, idly twirling the string around her fingers now. "Ada Wong. I guess you could say that I freelance."

Nashetania observed the developing scene with weary eyes. Her spell of dizziness was only growing worse. But at least the hostility had been toned down. The rabbit woman wanted to make sure that no violence broke out just yet. If someone used their powers in here, it could quickly become a disaster.

"...It's good that everyone seems to be getting along, for now." She stated with a relieved sigh. She watched the interactions between Lucio and Joshua. Maybe they were taking the situation just a bit too lightly? "There's no telling when those who are outside will make a move, so just keep on your toes." She trembled, feeling black spots ebb away at her vision. It seemed that she might be close to passing out.

"We--shouldn't forget what situation we're in." The rabbit woman noted, eyeing Riesbyfe as she spoke. The knight seemed... suddenly intrigued by her ears. But what the knight said was pure gibberish to her. Familiars? Master? "I am... what I am? A person..." She replied, unsure of what else to give the knight, who then made a quiet comment about her chest.

"I mean-- I do have powers." The rabbit woman stated. "I can summon blades to fight with--and use as projectiles..."

Lucifer noticed that he didn't seem interested in talking to him.

"Yeah, I don't have a sob story for you. I wish I had remembered any of my drinks, but alas, didn't know I was going on a trip," he said rather calmly.

Penny wasn't that interested in a conversation with the Man, but the knowledge that Scientists were in here with them, was a bit amusing. They had no way to explain this, that was for certain.

Lucifer looked over at the entrance of the glass cage. Breaking the glass seemed pointless to him. There was something they wanted from them, first. Why lock a bunch of people in a cage without purpose? There was definitely a reason

Lucifer did take note that the armored man seemed to be not going after the woman. He was quiet and noticed that he was looking at him. He couldn't help but chuckle at being called normal. He was far from the only normal in the room, that was something he was certain about.

"Yeah, this is nothing and certainly the farthest thing from a hellhole," he said.

'My, oh, my.'

Road mused, internally.

Wasn't this bunch eager to intervene? That couldn't have gone better if Road had sat back and actually thought out an orchestrated way to try and get everyone to show their colors. There were three hands of cards here, it seemed - as Tyki would've put it. In one, you had the either smart or the 'lawful good'. Those who didn't want there to be conflict within the ranks of the ones on this side of the glass either because they were a self-righteous white-knight like the buff, country-bumpkin or because they didn't want to be divided if the ones on the other side suddenly said they were all to kill each other. In another, you had the neutral - the ones who, although as perturbed as the rest had seemingly no intention of either intervening in conflict or worrying about the situation. They seemed more content in either keeping their distance and observing or forming alliances as soon as possible. Who could blame them for that?

Then there were her people. The ones facade-ing about to either test the waters or amuse themselves. To that note, her eyes shifted from this 'Joshua' character. The first to have jumped in to protect thy noble lady - Road managed to even think in an arrogant tone.

Then... the... DJ? This... character. 'Lucio', she'd overheard him be called. His righteousness seemed more gagging than the country bumpkin.

More, and more, people appeared. Some seeming to have an idea of the multiverse, and what might be going on, but the majority, in an utter stopper. One that caught her attention was... the old man. This... 'Chancellor'. This... Sheev Palpatine. Road could feel his malevolence from across the room, however, his act was well played and almost genuine. Had her forty-five years of life not been played around a monster of the literal suffering of mortals, she might not even have noticed. When the oil lit, she wanted to be on his side. She could already tell.

"All Holy Knights are the same. It doesn't matter if they come from one reality or another. and, on the note of my... wickedness..." somehow, the grin of the girl widened even further. It seemed that the corners of her mouth might even start bleeding if she kept it up. "I turn the souls of the ones people like you kill and turn them into monsters who pray on the weak... do you think I'm wicked? Will you take my life here?"

Finally, Road leaned away a bit from the Knight - this Riesbyfe - and her grin slowly slid into a quaint smile, as if their exchange had been a passing affair that she'd grown bored of.

"There is something, I believe, the majority of you have yet to understand. Not your fault - ignorance isn't a sin." a strand of the girl's dark blue hair strayed into the range of her brow and, nearly instinctively, blow it back from where it came, "I am personally capable of opening a 'Door' that connects roads between the multiverse. I was pulled here instead of my actual destination. Others were simply yanked from their own reality. It doesn't take a genius to connect the dots-"

Her poisonous gaze now dropped onto this Clark Kent character, and her following words were as laced with venom as his 'please' had been said with kindness.

"If you think a power like that is to observe or catch warm fuzzies, you're only endangering yourself and the ones around you."

Again, the girl chewed on her cheek.

"Not that I give a damn about any of you."

"Charmed," Ada said, idly twirling the string around her fingers now. "Ada Wong. I guess you could say that I freelance."
Linda looked over at her. "Freelance as in journalism? Or do you freelance report?" She asked her, clearly interested.

Seeing how such a large group of people were gathering in the room, Domon decided he might as well join in. Normally, he preferred to be alone, or in the company of a few close friends, but seeing as it didn't seem like he was getting out of here any time soon, he thought it best to get acquainted with those around him. Who knows just how much time he would end up spending with them?

The young man approached the group and addressed them all, saying, "So, just what are all you guys up to?" He folded his arms across his chest as the corner of his mouth pulled back into a smirk. "Any of you know something I don't about what's going on here?"

Penny snorted in amusement.

"I've been to a Hellish place. Courtesy of this idiot who thinks I'm his friend. Didn't like it. I can do without things trying to kill me. Speaking of which, for all we know, the air in this glass mausoleum will run out soon and we'll just die. Could be even worse outside."

Having found one of his flasks, he'd open it and sniff it cautiously, not sure if its contents have been tampered with. He'd wince at the smell, which was exactly what he had put in it.

"Down the Hatch"

He'd take a swig.

"Hmm?"

Oh ho ho, looked like the punching machine was ready to play nice and be calm for now. Well, not like he would chide her for it. Instead, Joshua smiled with a shrug at her request, making a note to keep certain facts hidden for now.

"Not much to say, Alice. Joshua's my name, and I'm just a humble swordsman, taking a few jobs here and there using my skills. Took to the road as a child, wanting to see the world and meet the folks of it, and I've been mostly happy in that endeavor," Excluding his want to reunite with his mother, but then again, if he headed home now, he wouldn't get another chance to leave. Joshua had left home for his own personal reasons, and if it ended up that he never came home, it probably would be the best as a myrmidon wasn't typically fit for the position his mother groomed him for. "Outside of that? Hmm... I like a good game of cards and dice as a guilty pleasure, and when it comes to lovely ladies," His smirk grew a little wider there, out of mischievous joy rather than anything perverse, "I must say, I'm quite the admirer and teaser, though I prefer to see a good romance over a quick thing."

"Any other questions, Miss Alice?"

Zerberus then couldn't see anything, he was blind! Well, actually he wasn't... The scarf he wore around his neck covered his eyes, making it feel like he was blind. He sat up and shook his head. The scarf fell from his face, letting himself see again. He then noticed someone was offering a hand. He gladily takes the hand and pulls himself up.

"Thanks for helping me up. It's nice to meet y-..."

He then saw another girl?! He was twitching, not knowing what to do. He wished he stayed down. Zerberus then bumping into another girl, a Pokemon, and three guys before hitting the glass wall. He then looked down.

"I'm sorry..."

"Woah... I wasn't expecting everyone to hop onto this train of um... un-stressing me out."

Blake was just surprised with all of the attention he got when trying to ensure everyone that everything would be fine rather than him being a downer like he would be if he let all of his stress out. Just a lot of attention, and he nervously laughed it off.

rsz_1hqdefault_by_teh_zombish-dat7u37.jpg

A glance was spared in Blake's direction, briefly, as he rambled on. And while Setsuna didn't directly address the boy, well, it was obvious he was stressed as fuck. Even she, who wasn't the best with understanding emotions, could see that much. But in any case, as he had not addressed her and another had, she simply moved on without thinking too much on it. Instead, she spoke simply to Senna. "Yes." Yes, Kyoshiro did have good taste. But regardless, that was beside the point, and she only gave a small nod in confirmation to her master's name. Sadly, however, out of all of the names Senna rattled off about knowing, none belonged to him.

Damn.

"...Ichigo," Setsuna repeated, softly. "...I am sorry. I do not recall anyone fitting that description," the blonde stated after pausing for a time to consider this. "If it is as you wish, I can assist you in locating him once we are out of this..." For a moment, she tried to decide the right word for the room. "...case--" And promptly, she trailed off, staring blankly at Senna upon her next question. Why did she have a master...?

"..."

Well, that was a new question. But she was obligated to answer and did so without hesitation. "It is my purpose to serve," she spoke, calmly. "It's what I was made for, and what I will do until my demise. I am Kyoshiro's sword." Well, that didn't make much sense, more than likely, to these people. She certainly looked like a human, not a sword. But in any case, Senna's next words, followed by Joshua's contribution, caused a different reaction from the blonde.

rsz_episodepct205pct20_pct20large1_by_teh_zombish-dat7v68.jpg

There was silence for a few moments from Setsuna, and she stared off blankly at nothing in particular. "...It's not like that. Don't misunderstand," she cut them off, speaking with the same monotone as before. "I'm not human. I am Absolute Angel, Setsuna of the Moment of Dreams. Kyoshiro is my master," she repeated.

eIvAYTc.png

Senna frowned, feeling a bit bad for Setsuna based on her reaction. "I just wanna say... you should be proud of yourself! You say this guy doesn't want you like that, but you still work hard to be his sword. That's pretty noble if I do say so myself!" she told Setsuna, giving the other female a pat on the shoulder.
"Just a ribbon? Are you certain that's all you want from him?" Joshua hummed with a cat-like smile, almost seeming to lean in to put more pressure on her, "Most lovely young ladies that I've met only blush like you are when talking about someone very special to them..."

At her comment about only having a single friend, the mercenary's smile returned to its normal state of casual friendliness, "Well, I believe you can add me as well to that list... though there's nothing wrong with having no home. I've been wandering the last few years of my life as a swordsman, and I have to say, it's quite a comfortable lifestyle. See the world, get to meet interesting folks like you all."

"Please, I have no hint of what you're implying, Lucio,"
Joshua coolly replied, no longer sounding as playful as he did before. In fact, it almost sounded like the insinuation had stung him a bit, "If a young woman refuses me? Then I will leave them be. I might be sad for a little bit, but there's always another time, correct?"

"And it's confident and reliable, my friend, not desperation. I'm quite the dedicated person,"
Then he was back to playful insinuations. A little strange how quickly he was flipping between the emotions with such control.

"Oh lay off, would you?" Senna grumbled, shooting Joshua a look. "He really is just a friend. What exactly do you want me to admit? If you knew him, he'd tell you the same thing," Senna replied. In truth, she had to wonder if Ichigo even remembered her. Senna knew she had been a being made up of memories, so after disappearing it was likely those around her had forgotten her.

"Gee, I don't even have a place to wander. Must be fun," she replied to Joshua, while she rocked back on her feet. "But hey, I can use a sword myself! You'll have to show me your skills sometime," she said with a smile.

While also watching what Lucio was up to, Senna replied to Miku. "That's nice of you to say. I just believe... the world is a great place! So I think even in the bleakest of times there is always something worth keeping your hope up for." Senna smiled. "It's a miracle I'm even alive right now. That's one thing I'm thankful for."

To Shirou she spoke.

"Oh hush!" Senna exclaimed, childishly sticking her tongue out at Shirou. "I'm not being cold, it's just the truth!"

"Hmmm?" Joshua glanced over to the young rabbit-like girl who was speaking to Riesbyfe and narrowed his eyes. Was she... shaking a little? That couldn't be good at all, especially if they couldn't get medical aid into the box. He had seen a few people pass out from fear before battles before, and he knew it would be best to catch them beforehand.

"You alright, Nashetania? You seem a little unbalanced."

"That boy with the headphones..." Was she actually...helping? She blurted it out without thinking. "He was playing some music before-said something about it making you feel better. Maybe she could listen to it?"

From her spot sitting on the floor, she looked at Alice, eventually finding herself standing up as well. There were so many people lingering around their little group now that it was hard not to. "Uh, happy?" A momentary pause. "I guess so. Looking at you all, it could have been worse... I worked as entertainment for the masses."

20pH4A9.png

"Like, eh, a lot of people here, I'm not human. I wasn't born from parents or anything, but just built from bits of really realistic-looking metal." She smiles, flexing her fingers for emphasis on her point. "Bet you couldn't tell the difference, huh? It's nice to meet you, Alice. You can just call me Miku."

The concept of "human spirit" seemed to shine bright in this girl, and for all it was worth, Miku could appreciate it. At least for the sake of the others, it seemed to relieve everyone a bit. "You're welcome, Senna."

Suddenly, the usually expressionless and blank look on the dhampir's face seemed to falter at the introduction of this woman. A Knight of the Church? He had only ever stumbled across the name when matters related to Leon Belmont, the Eastern Orthodox Church had forbidden him from hunting creatures beyond human understanding... the hostility between the Belmonts and the Church was strong - until Trevor. However, Alucard had to admit, he had not heard of Stridberg before.

"A pleasure," he murmured, though he did not now. "I am afraid I have not been informed of the Stridberg line, but an ally of the Church is an ally of mine." The legendary Trevor Belmont was a reason why Dracula's rise was stopped once again, and the hunter had even requested his help those years ago. It was the first time he had opposed his father in combat... and the reason why he had gone into a deep slumber. Though he did not particularly like his father, it was no easy task to kill him.

"... I have no intention of doing such. There is no need to make the lives of humans harder than they already have it." Isn't that what his mother had told him before she was burnt to death like a witch? He hated humans, he really did, but Alucard never strayed from the words of his mother, whom he had loved so much.

"It was pretty obvious you weren't feelin' good, man. Whatever happens, we have your back!"

"Oh, by the by, tell me how the song is! It's one of my best tracks...y'know, uh, top DJ tracks in the world, actually."

Lucio didn't falter in his attempt to make Blake feel even a little bit better, but it was obvious he was pretty self-conscious about his skill as a musician. Through music, Lucio inspires change in everyone who listens; of course, he tries his hardest to make it sound good.
