When the coffee pop beeeped and Lex walked off, Cooger hung his head for a moment and then looked over at her, "I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have gone cold in a minute."
"Maybe, but we sure couldn't risk it, could we?" Lex asked with a teasing smirk. She poured both coffees and brought them over to the table. She didn't sit down immediately after setting them down, instead standing with her back to Cooger and just waiting to see what he'd do.
"Sometimes it is the highlight of my day," Lex purred, enjoying being held. "Sometimes, all I can think about is what annoyances I can put you through. Sometimes, I wonder how you might respond, and I think about that for quite a bit."
"Very, very poor you," Lex agreed. She squirmed against him just a little as she reached out for the coffee. "I guess this stuff is pretty hot. We should just sit and wait for it, don't you think?" She glanced over her shoulder at him, eyes taunting.
"The whole point of making it was to warm you up," Lex pointed out. "If it gets cold, then how are we going to warm you up? I can't think of any other possible solutions. Can you?"
Lex's heart beat faster at his tone, and her eyes brightened a little. "Oh, really?" she purred. "Would you like to show me what you have in mind, sir?" She lifted herself up so she could whisper in his ear, "Maybe we could talk about it... upstairs?"
"Alright," Lex agreed. She kissed him again gently and then sighed. "You know, I am terrible at teasing, and I'll never get any better because you are far too desirable to tease for long. It's just not fair." She slid her hands down his arms to take his hands and pulled him toward the stairs with a playful smile. "I am good at other things, though."
Lex laughed and took him upstairs, coffee forgotten, to make them both very warm.
The next day, after breakfast, the twins bundled up and went out to stand in front of Sloan's house. Xander threw snowballs at Sloan's window until she looked out. When she did, Alec grinned and held up a Christmas gift wrapped with a giant golden bow.
Hearing the snowballs at her window, she opened it expecting Xander was ready for another snowball fight. When instead it was the both of them, she leaned out and called down to them, "Hannukah was the first week of December!"
"Merry happy all the holidays!" Alec said happily. He held out his gift, a large, flat-ish rectangle. It was a fancy paint-by-number of a tree standing on an island with a water backdrop, and half of the tree's leaves were made up of hearts. "I wasn't quite sure what to get you, so I thought I'd give you something you can either customize or follow the rules."
