How Green Becomes Wood

Dark looked curiously at the coveralls with Xander, remarking that he wasn't sure if Cooger would like them or not. When he said he wasn't sure if he'd like them either, Daizi laughed and said, "Goosetopher Mongoosetopher Dark, you cannot wear a pair of coveralls."

"That's what I'm saying!" Daizi replied.

"I did not say I wanted them, only that I was not sure if they would be comfortable."

"It'd be so silly, Goose," Daizi teased, hugging him from behind, "Like a goth train conductor whose clothes were shrunk in the wash."

Xander snorted at that description. "That's an image I never thought I'd see." he turned to compare thoughts on that image with Alec and then frowned. "Hey. Have we done a head count recently?"

"One chaotic witch, one Gothic train engineer, one Mini, and one twin," Xander counted. "Twins normally come in pairs. And... I am not seeing another red head..." he said, straining to see.

"Well, he has his yashmagh on, so his hair is covered," Dark replied, stepping out of the tent stood at his full height to try and spot his son, "He is going to be so sunburnt when we find him."

Frowning in concern, Daizi took out her phone to try to call Alec... but hung up when the phone started ringing inside of the stroller. "Why does he even have a phone?" She asked blandly.

"To text his friends after school, and that's about it, I think," Xander sighed. "At least he's stopped losing his keys. Wait, is that him?" He pointed toward a flash of head-height red and white.

"I'll help you," Xander assured Daizi. "Alec! Hey!" He hopped after the person.

They turned, and it was not Alec. Not unless Alec had managed to change nationalities and was suddenly Egyptian.
