How Green Becomes Wood

Daizi nodded, "I imagine it must be difficult. But I'm glad you were able to enjoy it, you're allowed to still think fondly of that time."

"And this can be your chance to find something new together, something you both enjoy," Dark pointed out, "Who knows, maybe he will enjoy pottery."

Alec looked up at Dark and grinned. "That's a good point! I should ask him if he wants to give it a try sometime. It would be nice to try something new together, and maybe it'll take a while to find something that clicks with us both, but I'll always be able to say that once upon a time, I was in a band with my brother!"

"Dark was telling Xander that you'll be able to tell Ivy about when she's decided you're uncool," Daizi grinned, "You can't be uncool, you were in a band."

"Maybe you can form a second band with her one day, and be able to say you performed with both of your siblings."

Alec laughed. "This is true! No one can be uncool if they founded a band. Maybe when she's older, if she likes music, we can have a band together. There's this one band I like, Sheppard, that is a brother and two sisters."

"You'll have to make due with a brother and one sister, I'm not giving you a second," Daizi joked as she took a sip of her drink.

"I cannot imagine her growing up not to like music. Already she likes to bang on her toy drum and shake her rattles when Daizi plays music," Dark said, looking forward to the day where Ivy was less discordant.

"Oh, I wouldn't ask you!" Alec said fervently. "Not a chance at all! But I agree, I can't imagine her not enjoying music. I'm sure she'll find something she likes. And you probably hate."

"I suppose it is only fair if we end up hating the music she likes, considering the eye rolls our favourites get," Dark teased in his subdued ways, "The dislike of music can go in both directions."

"Maybe we will hire a live band, so there is no sound booth to sneak to," Dark said easily as he drank his coffee.

"Or we'll hire a guard to the sound booth, to keep those pesky other kids out," She grinned.

"True," Alec said, drawing out the word, "but cash speaks very loudly to live bands, and guards are easily distracted." He smirked and played with the end of his hair as it fell across his face briefly.

"No, no I couldn't," Alec grinned, tugging on his hair. He paused and looked at it. "Speaking of, do you mind if I dye part of my hair before then? Or I can cut off the dyed part if you want it all natural and dye it later. Or get it dyed, I mean, since I won't personally be dying it."
