How Green Becomes Wood

"I feel the problem then is not if you will be given permission but if you both want to do it," Dark pointed out, "because we can say you are allowed to, but that does not mean you both will be forced to do so."

"Thank goodness," Xander sighed.

Alec frowned. "But it's gotta be both of us! There is absolutely no way to pull this off with just one of us, and we gotta do it because we're the only male identical twins at school. Actually, I'm not sure there's a female pair, either."

"Oh, I hate it, alright," Xander stated. "Alec, do you want to tell them the rest of the story?"

Alec pouted at him. "Does it matter if it's a choice between us?"

"I dunno. I feel like you should expound on the story," Xander said.

Alec pouted a moment longer before admitting, "We are both supposed to be her lovers in a sort of symbiotic, codependent relationship with each other, so he's me, I'm him, and so forth, and we're psychopathic... faes or something."

"I don't think we're supposed to be like that with each other," Alec said.

"I doubt the fanfic will keep to that idea," Xander muttered.

Alec ignored him. "But we do, ah, 'share' the girl who got lost in the woods."

Nobody who knew Daizi could say she wasn't open-minded. Nobody who knew her well could say she wasn't adventurous. Nobody who knew her intimately could say she wasn't experimental. However this... this gave her pause. "Did Becky... write this?"

Alec paused with a frown. "I don't know," he finally admitted. "But she does have a song that was written by someone else with her help, and she sang it for us."

"In the middle of the cafeteria," Xander sighed.

Alec dug out his phone and played it for Daizi.

We saw you first, we called your name.
Now you're caught up in our game!
Two hearts that beat as one for you,
There's nothing that we wouldn't do.
We finish each other's deadly thoughts,
You're the prize that can't be bought,
But we don't need to pay the price,
When we can take you, isn't that nice?

We share everything, you see,
and now that includes you with we,
Double the love, double the devotion,
We're synchronized in our emotions.
You can't have one without the other,
We're more than friends, we're twin and brother!
Try to leave and you will find,
Two obsessive, twisted minds!
We're a package, can't you see?

You belong to Him and Me.

"I'm never performing as somebody's kink, period," Xander said, getting up and going to look for snacks.

"We're not doing that!" Alec protested.

"Yes, we are! Except no, we're not!" Xander located the cookies and helped himself.

"We're villains. The girl is supposed to figure out a way to escape us," Alec told him. "It's like a twisted Wonderland, but with evil Fae and stuff. Since we're the villains, or one of them, anyway, it's not like we're positive about this. And the most we might do is hold her hand, not even an onstage kiss."

"Being a villain does not make it not a kink!" He poured himself a glass of milk.

Alec rolled his eyes. "Becky said she and some of the others were going to talk to the principal about it if she could get at least a couple of other players on board."

"Not doing it," Xander said, sitting down, "and for once, the parents are on my side."

"If the songs are like that, Bernice will not agree to it," Dark said, folding his arms, "I have nothing firmly against unethical romance in fiction, but that feels a step too far for minors to portray."

"People in the audience will definitely interpret it as being incestuous," Daizi said, tugging lightly on her earlobe, "Even if the author believes they never intend to have sex with her simultaneously, with those lyrics... You can't have one without the other means one of them is in the chair in the corner at best."

"I think adults think too hard about things like this," Alec pouted. "It's artistic! A turn of phrase!"

"I think they think just the right amount," Xander replied. "Besides, my answer is still no, and no one has said anything to convince me otherwise, so. No. No matter who, what, where changes, no."

"Fine!" Alec said with a dramatic sigh. He paused and then glanced between his parents. "By the way, what exactly is a kink? No one will tell me."

Alec threw his hands up in the air in exasperation. "Yes, I'm seriously asking!"

Xander found a bit of fruit and started eating that. "I can guess based off context, but I don't know or care what it actually means."

"I'll hold you to that," Alec warned her. Then he pointed to Xander. "Fine, you get your way, and I'll text Becky a very nice 'no thanks,' but you owe me cupcakes!"

"Promise me you'll never bring this up again and sheild me from Becky, and you've got a deal," Xander told him.

"Deal!" Alec snagged an apple slice and ran to scoop Ivy up. "Hi, Ivy! You've been so ignored!"

"After Ivy has gone to bed," Daizi promised. It was important information, and they felt it was important for sex positive education. It just wasn't something they realized the twins wouldn't find out on their own.

Ivy squealed happily as she was picking up, agreeing with Alec that she HAD been very much ignored.

"I'm so looking forward to that conversation," Xander said dryly. He got up and picked up his backpack. "If anyone needs me, I am going to be literally anywhere else.""

Alec spun Ivy around and set her down so he could chase her around, roaring and pretending to be a monster.

Ivy took great enjoyment in being chased, squealing and hurrying as quickly as her little legs could carry her. Dark and Daizi let the two of them be for awhile while the two of them went off to talk to start preparing dinner and quietly discuss what on earth they were going to say in this conversation later.

Alec played with Ivy until he couldn't run anymore. He then laid on the floor and played dead for a bit until he finally decided to get up and go do the stuff he was supposed to do after school. He had a good amount of things to do, but not an overwhelming amount, and there was plenty of time for him to hang out with Xander in his shed before dinner.

Xander had pretty much the same day, and he didn't mind Alec crashing his shed space. His brother played with the scraps and sometimes talked, sometimes sat in silence, and sometimes they discussed ideas about various leather ideas with Xander bouncing things off Alec. It was a nice time, a calming time before heading in to dinner.
