How Green Becomes Wood

It's neutral, I think? I don't know how to explain it. It's just different, but not to the point where I'm like... Completely lost. I guess it's weird to recognize that I'm actually meant to be here??? Which is weird. It shouldn't be, but it is."

Congrats on this meet, and looking forward to the next! Xander replied. Ack and Ann. At least they still kind of go together. Why Ann and not Der? Der is a nice growling name.

I think I've heard R is a hard sound for babies, Sloan replied, And because I think babies just always decide for themselves what they want to call you, and it's always the worst option

Xander snickered at that. At least I finally have a name, even if it means Stitch says I need to go as a Raggedy for Halloween. Hey, what are you supposed to do if a kid hands you fake food?

That's so weird. She's not gotten around to doing stuff like that, but now I know what to do when she does get around to it. Xander said. After a moment, he texted, When's your next meet?

I think it's something about helping them with their imagination??? Idk though Sloan texted back, And it should be in about three weeks, but I'll double check and get back to you.

Okay, cool. I'll let you know the details then, when I can! I gotta get back to it now, though, talk soon!

Meanwhile, Daizi had come downstairs to spend time with Ivy. After she did, Dark grabbed his keys and drove out to pick up Alec from work.

Safe and fun! Xander texted back before settling down.

Alec was just finishing up the sweeping as Tristan closed up the shop when Dark arrived. Alec waved to Dark through the window and finished what he was doing before fetching his things. One of those things was a group of seven mismatched in color and length roses that smelled heavenly together. "Hi, Ba! Look what I got for Mama. They are leftovers, and they don't really look nice together, but they smell good, don't they?

Tristan smiled and returned Dark's wave and then locked the doors. He was exhausted and ready to go home.

"It was good! Really, really busy, but good," Alec reported. "Uncle Tristan is the absolute worst at taking a lunch break. The best he'll manage is eating in the back with one ear toward the door, sometimes eating at the front counter or not at all. I keep telling him we should just close for, like, half an hour or something, but he says no."

"I have noticed that when I worked there," Dark replied, walking to the car, "Working through your lunch is a difficult habit to break, but I do not believe the shop is so busy it cannot close for only thirty minutes."

Alec walked alongside him, adjusting the flowers gently to not squish them. "I hope he'll figure that out soon. Everybody needs a good sit-down. Anyway, how was your day?"
