"I believe your sister is why we do not travel," Dark answered, "Would you like to deal with putting her on a plane somewhere? But you can eat fish cheeks anytime I make masgouf, it is your choice not to do so."

"I didn't know it was possible to eat that part, and I never paid attention to what parts you were eating," Alec replied.

Xander waved a fork. "I thought you set it aside for fish stock or something. I didn't realize you were eating it."

"It is delicious. Next time I make it, you will have to try it." Dark said.

"And the eyeballs," Daizi said, playing with the ends of her hair, "If you're brave enough."

"I'll try one, but with Mama's reaction, I think one will be enough," Alec said, grinning.

Xander looked at Dark and challenged him, "I'll eat the whole head - minus the bones - if you put your work in the art and music festival."

"I didn't like the texture at all," Daizi said, shaking her head.

"Oh, so you get to have a delicious meal? That is quite the dare," Dark said dryly, taking a sip of wine.

"It's only delicious if I like it, and it sounds like the eyeballs are a toss-up," Xander pointed out. "If you want, I'll try something else, your choice, of equal quantity."

"Are you planning to put any of your work in?" Dark asked.

"I've been talking with some of my friends about signing up," Daizi admitted for the first time to her children.

"Hadn't thought about it. I don't really see it as art, but I guess I could," Xander said with a shrug.

Alec perked up. "Are you really? That would be amazing! I'd love to see you do that."

"It is a craft, though," Dark pointed out, "You could sell at one of the dates."

Daizi nodded, "Ellis and I had been talking about it. She sings with a women's choir, and they had invited me to sing a song with them, but when we were talking about it... I don't know, we had some ideas for it, and some of the choir members are pretty excited for it. They're still going to get their expected performance, so it won't be getting in anybody's way."

"So could you," Xander agreed. "So, will you?"

Alec clapped his hands. "I can't wait! You gotta do it! It would be so amazing."

"Sell anything? Absolutely not, you know that."

"There's going to be an indoor stage, for shows aimed at adults and no one under the age of 16, without parental permission, will be allowed in---for the sake of bands with mature lyrics, really---and we were talking about our show being there. We were talking about it being almost narrative, almost cabaret style," She said, smiling a little bit to herself. All of these ideas she had been telling Dark about extensively before they went to bed at night, "And that way, since there will be an inside stage, I can bring my harp there and I won't need to cart it back and forth all the time."
