How Green Becomes Wood

"This whole thing is technically my fault," Cooger said, the water washing some of the paint off of him and soaking his beard, "So I'll do what I have to do." He did notice the way Lex's shirt was increasingly showing her shape, but he was fighting for his life not to stare. Pressingly, he was fairly certain that if he let himself get distracted, either Enkidu or Ivy would end up running him over with how they were acting under the hose.

Once the dog was clean and he had mastery of it, though, he did his best to hose down Ivy, wiggling and shrieking in delight though she was, while Lex hold her... only occasionally "accidentally" briefly turning the hose on her.

Once Ivy was mostly back to her normal colour, Cooger shut off the hose, grabbed the towel and said, "Alright, Kitten, let's dry you off!"

Ivy, though, raised her head, and frowning asked, "Muyya?"

"All gone, kid," Cooger said sympathetically, "But I think you'll get a bath."

"Should we bathe her, or should we let her father have that particular enjoyment?" Lex asked, helping Cooger bundle her up tight. "At least the porch looks pretty clean now. Erm. How do we dry off a dog?"

Cooger looked down at Ivy, thinking how cute it was to see just her face poke out of the big towel, "I think we can let him handle that. She's clean enough to be allowed indoors, so we've done our part. I should change her diaper, though, they aren't meant to get as soaked as she is." He looked over at Enkidu, who had slunk off to lay in a sunbeam, "He might be handling it himself, but we can probably use one of the towels we used to protect the deck on him, if one of them is clean enough."

"Good point." Lex grinned and reached out to boop Ivy's nose. "You are adorable!" Then, looking at Cooger, she said, "At least one of the towels is clean enough. Would your beard like to go first? And then I can tackle the dog."

"I appreciate the fact you think my beard deserves a dog towel," Cooger teased her, "I may just go up and borrow one of their face towels. The one thing you'll miss out on by us skipping the bath is you won't get to see their insane bedroom."
