How Green Becomes Wood

"That sounds fine," Daizi said, taking out her money to pay for the four of them.

"We will see how she adjusts, I may also need to go ahead of her as well," Dark said, lifting Ivy up to be eye-level with himself.

Alec stepped forward first and enthusiastically explained how he wanted a unicorn, but make it black and tough! With a rainbow horn, if that was possible. If that was too detailed, gold would be perfectly acceptable, too. Or silver. He then asked if it would be possible to turn just a little so his kid sister could watch it being put on. Only if that was okay for the artist. He didn't want to put them out too much.

The artist didn't mind accommodating his requests and assured him they'd be able to do a rainbow horn. Given the request to let his baby sister watch, the artist just presumed Alec had chosen a black unicorn because he was too tough to have a girly unicorn but not tough enough to tell his sister he wasn't getting a unicorn for her. As they were painting it, they asked (expecting it to just be playful banter), "Do you want glitter on it?"

Alec grinned as he studied the unicorn. "Excellent! It's perfect. Thanks!" He got up and showed Ivy before sitting next to Xander. "Cool unicorn?"

"Very cool," Xander confirmed.

"It's sparkly like you!"

That earned him a light shoulder punch.

"I'll take your word for it," Daizi replied, trying to move her face as much as possible.

"Ivy-Qadira," Dark said, pointing towards Daizi,, "Do you see that? Do you want your face painted too?"

"What do you think, Hummingbird?" Dark asked, looking lovingly into his daughter's pretty face, "Would sweet Ivy-Qadira like to pick something? Look," he pointed at the board for her, "Do you like any of these?"

Ivy looked at the board for a little bit and then finally pointed at a dolphin, "Muyya!"

"She loves water so much," Dark said, looking at his twins.
