"I am never keen to meet anyone," Dark told her, watching the unfortunate one man, "Kimberly only called my attention to him, and unfortunately I am curious by nature."
"Ah. Curiosity is a dangerous thing," Ciara agreed. "You need not meet anyone you do not wish to."
Just then, a larger man with a glass of wine and an expensively terrible suit came breezing over. "Ciara! Great party, eh? You must be the famous Mr. Dark. How do you do? Will Teeger."
Giving her a look, Dark chose to avoid mentioning he had already met people he'd otherwise prefer not to meet, considering he had already met even one stranger. Then he turned to meet another new stranger, "Famous? I was unaware I had garnered anything of the sort."
"Famous as of a couple of hours ago when you walked in and started making a pretty big impression on everyone here," he said jovially. "Your name traveled fast!"
"I am still gathering impartial information before coming to a decision," Dark replied coolly and without glancing at Ciara as he set his glass down and adjusted his cufflinks.
"For a few years over a decade," Dark replied, "and never professionally. My wife and I like to take classes together, since we do not have many shared hobbies."
