"She thinks she is being ignored," Dark said, kissing Daizi while still holding Ivy's hands to stop her from preventing it again. This clearly frustrated their daughter, but they were not going to allow her to be tsar of their relationship.

"It seems so," Daizi sighed, "I birthed my greatest enemy."
 
Alec wondered if it was a case of feeling ignored, or that thing children did when they saw someone else playing with a toy that they hadn't touched in ages, but suddenly that toy was incredibly important. From his perspective, it looked like the latter, but he wasn't the one reading parenting books, so he kept his thoughts to himself.

Xander grunted. "Careful then, Mama, not to turn your back on her."
 
"How about as soon as I get off?" Alec suggested. "If the whole family came to pick me up, then we could go straight to the zoo."
