How Green Becomes Wood

"Please do," Daizi told her. So long as the vines weren't too long, she couldn't think of any reason why they couldn't put it up in the nursery, "I can't recall if you've seen it, but her nursery has a woodland theme, so it should fit fine."

"I don't actually think he's going for sparkles, although I could be wrong. He's had this rainbow painted on his wall nearly since he moved in with us, but he feels like he's grown past it now." Daizi explained, sitting back in her chair, "It just about broke Dark's heart, because, to him, that rainbow was the first moment he felt like they'd want to stay with us long term. Now Alec's trying to figure out if there's a way to keep part of it."

Ciara nodded slightly. "That would be difficult. To move into the future while still maintaining important pieces of the past. I will be curious to see the end result. I shall have to request that Alec sends me pictures."

"I much prefer to fly long distances, but then one has to deal with the issue of renting a vehicle, unless public transportation is a viable means of getting around," Ciara said. "Renting a vehicle usually is not too much of a problem for me, but I typically travel alone and am of average height."

"I think we'll be fine renting," Daizi said, "but Dark hates being on a plane, and regional airlines are even smaller. I just think driving ten hours with a toddler sounds miserable, and we'll have to take a shorter vacation because we'll need to stretch the drive over two days at least, unless we want to drive ten hours with the crankiest child in existence. At least at an airport we can walk around with her and she'll only need to sit in a chair for an hour or two. He thinks I'm underestimating the stress of having a toddler in an airport."

"I imagine the pressure would not be fun on her ears, either," Ciara mused. "I have no personal experience with children, but judging purely from what you have said, I would choose flying over driving."

"That's the problem, isn't it? Because she's the only child I have experience with, and we've not done this before," Daizi sighed, running a hand through her hair, then stopped, her hand in the middle of her hair, "Do you know what, though? I bet I could ask Sally, she probably traveled with Peter when he was very small."
