How Green Becomes Wood

Ciara paid their bill and then guided Daizi in the direction of the door leading out. She had to pause at the door, slightly disoriented as they went out a different door than they'd come in, and then was able to lead Daizi confidently to the car. She walked slowly but steadily, head up, eyes alert, not visibly checking for danger, but clearly not distracted, either. She unlocked the car and made sure Daizi was safely inside before going around to her side and starting up the car, the doors locked the second she was in the car.

Although Daizi was alert and cautious as they walked to the car, there wasn't much besides a slightly different grip on Ciara's arm to indicate it. Once inside the car, she did still lean over to open Ciara's door for her, then buckled her seatbelt, "I had a really great time tonight, we should do this again."

"I quite enjoy spending time with you. Even though you howl like a wolf," Ciara said in dry humor.

The drive home was unremarkable, and when Ciara pulled up in front of the Necropolis, she got out and opened the door for Daizi, ensuring she was oriented toward home. She thanked her for the evening out, remarked how now they were "even" for the lending of Dark, and waited in the car to make sure Daizi got in okay.

Daizi laughed in delight and got out of the car, "I'll call you. And Ciara?" She pointed, although didn't quite get the right direction, "Try it. Trust me. Get home safely." Then, she shut the door and walked up to the front porch where her husband was waiting, looking like naught more than a shadow. He held one hand up in a wave and then shut the door behind them.

Ciara made no comment and promised nothing. She had zero intention of ever doing such a thing. For starters, where on earth would she go that no one would hear her? The embarrassment of being caught "howling" was unbearable to even think about. She appreciated Daizi's concern, but did not consider the advice to work for her, personally. She waved to Dark, a single hand wave like he did, and drove home, still thinking over everything she had seen and experienced that evening.
