Land Down Under (KJDarKnight & Treasure)

"Goodnight" she signed back before getting comfortable on the other end of the couch .

Come morning, Pepper groaned as she woke up, pain pill hang over with the ache of her stab wound beside ..except... it wasn't there, it was a phantom pain? Her brow furrowed, she lifted her shirt enough to see and stared in disbelief. Not totally healed but didn't look nearly as bad as it had before, like it was a superficial wound not an attempt on her life, barely deep enough to need stitches and... no bruising anymore. How was that possible?

Justira was deep asleep despite the sunshine starting to spill in and wake the rest

Badru woke at her first stirring but closed his eyes again when he saw her lifting her shirt. He could not see much from his position laying flat on the floor, but he wasn't about to infringe on her privacy by peeking when he shouldn't. When he heard her still, he sat up and looked her over. "You need I get Mathias?" he asked clumsily.

Gray pulled a blanket over his head as soon as the light started spilling into the room. No light!

Lynna woke and scowled crankily. "I feel like a mess," she stated crankily.

"Great first thing to say," Jonah growled from his spot on the floor. "And you gave me guff for being cranky."

Pepper shook her head "No... look" she prompted "It's nearly healed but.. how?" she'd never seen anything like it. What on earth had Mathias done.

Misty stayed in her corner and watched as the others got up, she hadn't really gone back to sleep, dozed a bit but not truly slept.

Mathias looked over from the kitchen "Look a bit like a mess" he joked "Lot's to do today, best get up, I've got tea on and a pot of oatmeal" not real oatmeal but it would do.

Justira blinked a little when she felt Gray move but her eyes closed again, she'd over done it healing Pepper in the middle of the night

"Your medicine?" Badru suggested with a shrug. He'd seen Justira come in, but he had no idea what she'd done, exactly. He'd just assumed it was to do with the medicines the groundlings used.

Lynna groaned as she slowly peeled herself off the floor. "Can I go down below at some time? I have a lot of clothes I'd rather not lose."

Jonah frowned as he brushed himself off, wincing a little. His side had not enjoyed sleeping on the floor. "Clothing? Really? That's what you want to get?"

"Hey! I worked hard for some of that stuff, and if I'm going to lose everything else, I'd like to be able to save at least one thing I liked!" Lynna snapped before stomping toward Mathias.

"Just don't stay down there for very long" Mathias said "Go down, get what you need and get back, take someone with you. Still some crazzies down there" Mathias answered

Pepper shook her head a little and pulled her shirt back down "Never seen anything like it" she would have to ask Mathias what he had done when he wasn't so distracted

Lynna looked around. "Right. Who wants to go down with me?"

"Nope. I've got enough to do up here," Jonah grunted.

"Food ready. You want food?" Badru offered, rising to his feet.

"I'll go with ya Lynna" Faelar offered "think my sisters in good hand up here" he glanced at her and Gray still asleep on the couch

Peter sat up and yawned, stretching his arms out as he woke up.

"Awesome! Breakfast first, then a run down below," Lynna said hurrying to the kitchen. "Anything you want us to check while we are down there, Mathias?"

Badru looked around to Peter. "It is morning," he greeted. He did not know why the grounders insisted on being so redundant, but he supposed he should follow their traditions.

Mathias shook his head "nah everything I care about is here" he said. He was lucky that way for sure.

He set about serving bowls of oatmeal for everyone.

Peter smiled "yes it is" he said.
"Go on, get some breakfast" Pepper prompted, sitting up more properly and pushing a hand through her hair. Still stiff and sore from.working so hard the day before. A hot shower sounded perfect. Loosen up the muscles and wash away the filth

Lynna attacked her rather tasteless, gummy oatmeal with a vengance and quickly demolished it. "Right!" she stood up and took her bowl to rinse and wash it. "Ready, Faelar? Let's get going!"

"Do you want me to bring you food?" Badru asked Pepper. "You should rest."

She shook her head "No I can get up and get my own"

"Pepper let him get it for you" Mathias insisted. She huffed but didn't object again. She was stiff and sore and honestly, would be great not to have to move.

Faelar had barely taken a few bites "slow down Lynna let a guy eat" he chuckled

Misty quietly sat in the corner watching everyone like a fly in the wall

Badru walked over to the kitchen and eyed the bowls remaining. What was this stuff? Building paste? Everyone else was eating it, though, so he picked up two bowls and two spoons, bringing them to Pepper. He handed over one and sat cross-legged on the floor with his bowl.

"Ugh, you're so slow!" Lynna complained. Then she noticed Misty. "Hey, the food is getting cold. If you let it get too cold, it'll glue your mouth shut as you eat it."

Pepper wrinkled her nose at the glop "my favorite.." she said sarcastically. It was food though

Misty looked up at her and shook her head "not hungry"

Badru looked at her blankly, not catching the sarcasm. "It is an interesting food," he said after some thought.

Lynna walked over and gently nudged Misty's knee with her toe. "Come on. You need your strength, and you know what they say about breakfast being the best. Up and eating!"

Pepper laughed a little "it's disgusting..but its food" she said before taking a bite

"I said I'm not hungry" she answered, pulling the blankets a bit closer around herself

"Oh." Badru wasn't sure what to make of that, so he stayed silent and focused on getting the weird glop down his throat. It felt more like building glue than food, but at least it didn't taste disgusting. Just bland and sticky. Somehow, that was making it harder to eat than if it had been outright nasty to the taste.

Lynna shrugged and gave her another poke. "Alright, just don't go saying no one warned you if you pass out later."

Used to tasteless Pepper ate it without issue as did Peter though neither of them seemed to enjoy it really.

Misty frowned and just looked away, not in the mood to talk to anyone today though she doubted she would avoid it all day

"Someone sure is being a gloomy Gus," Lynna grumbled. "Alright, fine, enjoy your corner." She turned away from Misty. "Faelar! Are you done yet? We're wasting time we could be using digging through our lovely ruins and hiding from maniacs."

"Yeah I'm done" he smirked "and it's not like ya hime down ther collapsed er nothin. So what diggin do ya mean?" He asked

Lynna rolled her eyes at him. "It's an expression. Thanks for food, Mathis!" She grabbed a small flashlight and her baton before heading for the stairs. "I wish Gray would come. He's great at sneaking around."
