[minor mature themes] Black Dahlia and True Blue - A Heist Gone Wrong

“I have no idea what that meant, but I’m going to say ‘you’re welcome.’” Amora replied, confusion playing across her features for a split second. “I’d say the same to you.”

She kind of just stood there in disbelief at what just happened. After a moment, she cleared her throat and assumed a more serious demeanor. “All right. So you said there were assassins after us?” Amora asked, seeming to have completely forgotten their kiss. “We can’t let ourselves be caught off guard, even for a second. Comprende?”

He nodded quickly, brushing a couple of his curls away from his eyes.

"Sì, sì, you are right. I suspect who will come after us first, he may be an issue but- I doubt we will take long to handle him. I know how the Boss handles things, whoever attacks us won't try to kill us... But they will defintely bring us to the Capo, and trust me, I'd prefer to be be killed by his goons than him... Non va affatto bene."

Cabacci tilted his head a bit, reminding himself that he'd now have to worry about her side of things too.

"You mentioned your boss also coming after you, correct? How long do you think it will take them to find out?"

Amora thought about it for a moment. “They won’t find out for a while because they’re back in the States, and it will take them even longer to do anything about it,” she said, seeming pretty nonchalant about her side of the ordeal. “So I’ve got some time. You, on the other hand, don’t.”

She seemed genuinely concerned for Cabacci’s situation, way more so than her own. “Who will we be dealing with? Do you know anything about their Stands, if they have them?”

"Yeah..." He said, dropping his hands down to his pockets, "The Boss knows I am not a joke... He made me his designated Button for a reason-"
Cabacci sighed, clearly not eager to fight the people who'd come for them, some of them he wasn't too familiar with, but for the most part, he knew how they handeld themselves, and the order the Boss sent them to do assignments in case things dind't work out.

"First we'll have to deal with the Consigliere.. I know her personally, tough signora. She has this sort of, gun related Stand, she can control her own bullets you see, so she doesn't fight hand to hand like we'd do... Next, probably the Phone Man, real mamaluke that one.. He does have a Stand like ours, Friday Pilots or something he called it. Real nightmare to fight, thing is fast than anything I've seen before... I've worked with both of them, but I am not a huge fan of 'em... As for the rest, truly no idea, the Boss kept secrets, too many, including among the Family itself."

Amora paused again, weighing her and Cabacci’s options in this situation. “Well, I think we can deal with them,” she said. “We would have a much harder time if they fight together.” She sighed and ran a hand through her hair, messing it up more than it was already. “We could try to attack them first and take them by surprise, but I doubt that would work.”

Amora groaned in frustration. “Why did I have to let them convince me to get that damn arrow?!” She grumbled under her breath.

Cabacci considered his options, while waiting might be smart to plan and figure out a way to handle this better, he knew these folk had no honor, they hadn't been taught in the old ways of warfare among criminal families, they would have no sort of mercy, even to those who weren't involved in the first place.

He then had an idea, one stupid enough that only he could come up with.

"We strike them in their own base. I know where they hold their little reunions to talk bussiness. They don't know I am with you now, if we attack them while they are unaware, they won't have time to defend themselves! We go, we take 'em on. Bada bing bada boom, idiots morti."

Cabacci speaks confidently, with a big grin on his face as he puts his hands on his hips.

"Unless, you have another plan of course."

Amora shook her head. “That’s actually what I had in mind, amigo,” she said, a faint smile starting to appear on her face. “If we get them by surprise, then I can use my Black Dahlia’s ability to convert them to our side.” She looked over at the table by the couch, where the arrow was and pointed vaguely at it. “What do you think that thing does?” Amora asked. “Must be pretty powerful if multiple people are willing to kill for it.”

She pondered her own question as she waited for Cabacci to give his take on what it could be. It looked similar to the arrow that had caused her to gain her Stand, but it had an insect similar to a beetle on the flat end of the tip. Amora figured that it had something to do with Stands, but she couldn’t quite grasp what the relation was.

"I can't tell for sure, to me it was just a paperweight, but if the Boss, who can have- Bassically anything he could ever want at the snap of his fingers, wants this thing, I'm guessing its either beyond money's value, or simply... Something to expand his territory. Davvero non lo so..."

He shook his head a bit.

"Besides, I've never even seen anything like it, I've gotten many valuables for the Capo before, none of them were this specific. I doubt its just a new hobby he got for archery or collection dusty ol' things...."

Amora nodded, delicately picking up the arrow and examining it closer. “Si,” she replied. “It looks to be related to the arrow I used to awaken Black Dahlia. I think it might have something to do with our Stands, but I’m not sure.” She thought for a moment, turning the arrow over in her hands. “Maybe it makes them stronger, or gives us another Stand?”

Amora looked over at Cabacci, and back at the arrow. “We could find out the hard way, but it could be dangerous due to not knowing what it will do.” She sighed. “Maybe we could try using it to our advantage.”

The man's eyebrows raised in surprise. "To awaken? You didn't get it naturally?" He ponders for a moment, he always thought Stand Users were naturally born, but then again, he also found it interesting that there were so many of them in the Family considering they were supposed to be rare.

"Nevermind- You got your Stand like that, but... You're not just gonna, you know, stab it into your arm to get it right?..." He wasn't too bright, but soon enough realized that there was likely no other way for it to be able to do anything, it was an arrow after all. Cabacci shook his head quickly, he started thinking it may not be a good idea.

He wasn't scared for himself, but he was defintely worried for Amora, maybe the arrow could have a bad effect on people who already had Stands, or maybe it would do nothing, but they wouldn't know until they tried.

"Try with me first... I mean, if it won't do anything, maybe it's not even worth you poking yourself with it. Buon Dio..."

Amora shook her head. "No, I can't let you do this. It might not even do anything for you, beings you didn't even use an arrow to awaken your Stand." There was something else too, but if she said it, she might make it seem like she doesn't care about Cabacci, or that Amora doesn't think he cares about her. Either way, it was best for her to potentially make a sacrifice here, at least in her opinion.

"I don't want anything happening to you," Amora continued, looking Cabacci directly in the eyes. As she did, her gaze softened. "I'm just not used to feeling this way about someone, and if I lose you..." She trailed off, tears starting to form in her eyes. "I just... wouldn't know what to do."

Cabacci's faced had once again turned into a shade of red, he didn't want to admit it, but he was embarassed, he'd never really been cared for before, it was odd to hear someone admit being worried about him, even if he didn't really know what exactly was going through Amora's mind, but, she seemed genuine, he hated the fact that he felt at the edge of crying just from seeing her tear up.

"I... Fine! We won't do anything about it right now, let's keep it safe while we figure out more about it-"

Just as he finished his sentence, he heard his phone ring again, the same silly song as before, an unknown number, he picked up carelessly, putting the speaker to its full volume so that they could both hear the call.

"Chi è?-"

The voice on the other side simply said. "Gong O' Knockout." And hung up. They didn't have much time to think, as the screeching of tires could be heard outside.

"Tsk, one of them ended up coming then..." Cabacci grunted as he popped his knuckles. "Shall we deal with it, signora?..."

Amora punched a nearby wall, thankfully not damaging it. "¡Maldita sea!" she exclaimed, quickly turning back to Cabacci. "Do you know who it is? Do they have a Stand?" She seemed more angry than worried. A somewhat tender moment between them had been so rudely interrupted, and she wasn't happy about it. AT ALL.

She looked out of a nearby window, positively fuming. Black Dahlia appeared behind Amora, its mostly blank expression providing an almost comical contrast of emotion. "Let's kill these bastards, mi vida."

Cabacci nodded, rolling up his sleeves as he'd done earlier in the day, turning to one of the people working on the house, giving them instructions.

"Per favore, vai a nasconderti nelle stanze mentre io mi occupo di qualcosa." The rest overheard, and quickly scattered across the house, some of them heading to the upper levels of the home, with some strange black suitcases.

He stepped to the door of the house pushing it open as he made sure that he'd be seen before Amora, he muttered with gritted teeth, making sure only his companion would hear.

"The Consigliere... Careful, she's the one with the gun stand I mentioned, she has a limit, can only control four bullets at a time. But she can switch between them... Scusa, I hate that woman- She came with her crew. Let me do the talking, keep Black Dahlia ready, 'kay?"
On the yard outside, a woman on the shorter side stood, holding a Thompson Submachine Gun, and several men behind her, holding a variety of revolvers and pistols, she spoke in a mocking tone.

"You cazzo, finally come out of hiding, don't you? Filthy dog. In fact, a dog is better than you, at least a canine would admit its defeat and come with its tail between its legs to beg for forgiveness. But you ran away with the Boss' prize. Traditore..."

Amora nodded, and she made sure the strange arrow was hidden away from any prying eyes in between some couch cushions before she
stepped back so she wouldn't be in sight, and laid in wait, with Black Dahlia floating menacingly behind her. If there was any sign that Cabacci was in trouble, she was ready to strike.

She made sure this "Consigliere" character was in her sights as she readied one of Black Dahlia's darts, both as part of her Stand, and a few concealed between her fingers in case she had to be subtle.

Nothing was getting between Amora and Cabacci, not while she was around to do anything about it.

Cabacci was a bit more calm, knowing he had his back covered.

"Ah yes, if it isn't the rat. You were the one following on the heist, weren't you? I should've guessed only someone as souless as you would dare to rat out a comrade... So? Go on, you were going to shot me with that stupid Stand of yours... Maybe you already got too scared to do it, strega stupida"

She didn't take it kindly at all, raising her Tommy Gun, her goons did the same.

"Stai zitto! I will leave you with so many holes that you will look like a grater by the time I am done with you!"

Before she even took the first shot, a sudden spray of bullets hit several of her soldiers, a few of Cabacci's people had shot them from the windows above, retreating back into the home when they considered it was enough, everyone was in on Cabacci Russo's line of work, it made sense that even his workers were at least aware of how to wield a firearm.

The woman was flabbergasted, clenching her jaw angrily. "That won't be enough to scare me!" She attempted to shoot at Cabacci, but True Blue had already made sure to stop the projectiles. Yet, a couple of stray bullets moved around in a strange manner, as if targetting him from different angles, it was obvious that his Stand was starting to struggle to protect him properly due to its speed.

Amora stepped into view, looking royally pissed off. "¿Te atreves siquiera a intentar herir mi amor? ¿La manzana de mi ojo? ¿Las estrellas que brillan en el cielo nocturno? ¡Por eso mueres!" Black Dahlia began to throw darts at the strange woman in a frenzy, so different from its cold, calculating grace at the art museum. "¡Morir! ¡Morir! ¡Morir!"

She didn't really care about the damage she was causing or that her cover was blown. All Amora cared about in this moment was one thing: vengeance. No one so much as thinks about hurting someone she cares about without getting themselves put on her hit list, and this bitch was no exception. "Tu cabrona! Tu desgraciada!"

Everyone was shocked by the sudden appearance of the stranger, the woman wielding the Tommy Gun fell back, coughing up blood as she did her best to roll out of the way, but she knew nothing of this stand, she didn't know what the hell were the things stuck to her.

"Che cazzo?!-" She tried to defend herself by shooting Amora, but as she was about to pull the trigger, a simple pebble crashed onto her wrist, forcing her to drop the weapon, Cabacci's True Blue had managed to get the main threat out of the way, letting Amora do whatever she considered fit to the woman.

He stood up with a chuckle, although a coupel of bullets had grazed his skin, he was mostly intact. "Tsk, patetica! You brought an army for nothing- Not even with that fancy ass chopper of yours, you play with fire and ti bruci. Now you'll have to deal with my regina, bitch!"

Cabacci didn't focus on the futile attempts that the enemy was making to crawl away from Amora, instead, he made sure that True Blue blocked out any shots that her soldiers may try to get on, according to his brain, his girl.

Amora let a sadistic smile play across her features. "Not so tough now, are you?" she said smoothly as she approached the mysterious assassin. "You just hide behind all your men like a coward." Black Dahlia lingered around her, waiting to strike with a strange aura of eagerness around it. But... Amora was going to savor this for as long as she could.

"Just keep blindly follow your orders, perra," she taunted, her smile getting wider. "Now, I want you to stay there."

As she said that, Amora put one of her hands out after watching her struggle for a few more moments. "Good. Your last order is to face your fate!" With that, a spray of pearl-like blades shot out at her.

The woman let out a choked cry of pain as she felt the Stand's attack pierce her, coughing up blood and staining her previously spotless suit, regaining her conciousness for a few seconds.

"E-Ecccch- Stupida puttana, more will come after you, Y-You won't be able to hide anywhere!-"

Her threats were empty now, as she was slowly but surely bleeding out due to the previous attack.

Cabacci was busy a few meters ahead, making sure to pulverize whoever even so much as looked at Amora at this point, he was starting to become more and more careless by the second, he didn't want for Amora to be hurt, and to make sure that'd not happen, he had to make sure no one, NO ONE, managed to escape from his grasp.

And so, he continued, working alongside his Stand to paint his garden red, his gaze lost in a cloud of rage.
