Prisoners of Hogwarts (A Harry Potter inspired rp)

Premise

It has been two years since the battle of Hogwarts and Voldemort’s demise at the hand of the brazen Harry Potter and yet another year where Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry opens its doors to old and new students alike! The new students do not have much time to see the scenery however, they hear that the Headmistress dislikes tardiness in her students.

You are welcomed, or more rushed, into the Grand Hall of Hogwarts where the rest of the school are gathered as well as all the faculty members looking over the students with friendly faces. Most of them at least, others seemed to want to be anywhere else but here. Those same faculty members roll their eyes as the entire group was silenced by the arrival of the Headmistress of Hogwarts. Dolores Umbridge, the real hero of the war. With out her the entire Wizarding world was close to falling into chaos when Voldemort perished. As a show of great gratitude, the Ministry of Magic stricken humble by her great deeds practically begged Umbridge to take over Hogwarts. Of course, she accepted such a great honor, because who else could teach these children all that they needed to survive out in the world? After her rousing and in no way self-aggrandizing speech they are lead into their respective houses where they will live for the rest of the school year among their peers and delve into the fantastic world of magic!

Or, that is the idea. The students will soon find out that everything isn’t as it seems…

Mechanics:

In this rp players will have characters from other settings moved into the world of Harry Potter. All characters are stripped of their original memories and given new memories and sometimes even looks to fit better into setting.

Players can choose to be a student from year 1 up to year 7. Don't worry if your character isn't in the age range, a little magic will fix that up. Each round I will randomly pick out one or two characters that will get their original memories back as they try to figure out the mystery of Hogwarts. For their own safety the players shouldn’t reveal that their memories have returned, who knows what will happen if they’re caught? Even if your characters memories return they are still stuck in the illusion and so can't use their powers if they have any and are still stuck in the form they have until the mystery of the school has been solved.

Rules

1. Please be respectful towards everyone. As the GM my word is law, but I imagine there wont be a lot of problems.

2. This should be a given, but no godmodding / metagaming!

3. Players of all posting levels are welcome here. That being said, please at least put something whenever you make a post. You can also use images if you want, but keep in mind in that case that I'd like as little IC posts being nothing but image spam or so as possible. Speaking of image spam, please only post a maximum of three images / GIFs per post in order to not flood the page with images that make it harder to load.

4. I plan to go for a quick pace, so it might be beneficial to seek out other users to be your "posting partners" so that you have some people you can stick with. Using the tagging system is very much recommended just so that you or your fellow rpers don’t accidentally fall behind. This is actually very important. It's fine (and encouraged) to only keep up with a few characters / players for the majority of the game, as that is far easier than trying to keep tabs on everyone. Summaries and important GM posts will be made prominent.

5. Please post once a chapter. Chapters will generally last from a few days up to a week, so you'll hopefully have time. Not doing so will result in your character possibly being removed from the game. At the very least, PM me if anything comes up and I'll do my best to keep you around.

After I've looked through it and given you the okay then you can re-post your app in here, but without the information revealing the character's original lives. Also keep in mind you can only sign-up your character as a student. Any faculty members etc will be rped by me.

Description of the character:

Stanley has blonde hair and a slim, tall physique, roughly standing at about 6'1. He wears a pair of black rectangular glasses at all times, and his attire is often formal, such as a sweater vest or a suit and tie, along with dress pants.

New Life Biography:
Stanley was born a muggle, though a wealthy muggle. He was spoiled and pampered throughout his whole childhood, with it all eventually culminating to when he wanted to learn Magic. His parents agreed, and payed for him to go into Hogwarts.

Despite his status, Stanley is a kind hearted person who will go out of his way to help anyone no matter what. He's a good friend who genuinely cares for everyone he meets, and will never give up on anyone no matter what.

However, despite this, Stanley isn't without his flaws. He can act a bit pretentious at times and, perhaps most egregiously, he is a bit of a con artist, constantly selling homework and text books around the school to make a quick buck.

Description of the character: Medium-length black hair, pale skin, and dark purple eyes. An almost scrawny body frame. As his illusion identity, he is mostly seen wearing glasses.

New Life Biography: Julius was originally from a Muggleborn family, but due to a deadly car accident that he was only the sole survivor, he was then adopted by a well-respected family in the Wizarding world. Despite not being blood-related, his adoptive parents figured to allow him to learn about magic, especially with how they only had one other child, another son, and thought it was best to have two children capable of continuing their family heritage. After a few years going towards his eventual 5th year at the wizarding school, Hogwarts, it's apparent that he is bringing in more promise and talent than his adoptive brother. Even more so to where he is promised by his adoptive parents the inheritance to their family.

Description of the character: He ha spiked brown hair that is perfectly groomed, towers over most at 6'2 and has blue eyes. Through regular working out, he has trained himself to be physically fit as possible. He typically wears a blue dress shirt and dress pants along with a blazer and tie.

New Life Biography: Ian comes from a long line of pureblood wizards. He was raised to be the perfect cunning wizard and to always look out for number 1, himself. His father gave him additional training and made sure that he could hold his own, both in magic and physically if need be. However, despite the hard exterior, Ian can show emotions, but he rarely does, preferring to be closed off in the world.

Description of the character: He's rather tall, at around 5'8", and though lanky, is pretty toned and in good shape. He's pale and is very good looking, with bright turquoise eyes and long, silky hair. He styles it in a high ponytail, with bangs that cover his right eye. A lock of hair is tucked behind his left ear usually. He's a natural blonde, but uses a color charm to constantly change his hair color-he never goes more than one day without changing it.

New Life Biography: Rio was born the oldest of two brothers, in the small town of Shrewsbury. His father, a Muggle, wasn't around too much, but that was really only due to his job-he was a pilot for an airline, and wound up travelling the world as a result. Rio and his little brother, Kit, were instead raised by their mother, who was a witch. Both boys had magical prowess, and their mother made sure to teach them the basics before they went off to school.

Although raised by his mother and familiar with the world of magic, Rio had a deep connection to his father's side of the family, especially to his grandfather, who was a bomber pilot in World War 2. Rio would spend hours listening to war stories and how his grandfather described flying, and both he and Rio's father instilled in him a deep passion and love for flight. Because of this, Rio became fascinated by broomsticks, loving the extra freedom they gave him in the air without confinement in a plane.

Once Rio was accepted into Hogwarts, he worked hard in his studies so there would be no complications in the way of his real interest: Quidditch. The sport was a favorite of his (since it allows broomsticks) and he's been a member of the team ever since his first year. Anyone who knew Rio knew that his true love was the sport…until Isolde came along. Well…a few months after Isolde came along. Rio was a bit too preoccupied to realize that Isolde, let alone anyone, was into him. Fortunately he had Kit to help him out, and he's been head over heels for his girlfriend ever since.

Rio has a good relationship with his little brother (one of the few things not Quidditch-related that he pays attention to) and will fiercely defend him from anything troubling him. Any troublemakers know that messing with Kit will get them put on Rio's bad side…and no one wants to be there at all. But all that aside, Rio is a very friendly and outgoing young man…but seriously, do not get him started on Quidditch. Please. It's for your own good.

Kit is slim young man who stands at 5'6" with pale blonde, almost white hair and hazel eyes. He keeps his hair in a low ponytail and has freckles all over the bridge of his nose and lightly scattered along his arms, neck and shoulders, though he usually dresses in long sleeved shirts or turtlenecks most of the time. He's a polite and emotionally sensitive young man who just wants to make friends and learn magic.

New Life Biography: Kit, the youngest of two boys born to a muggle father and witch mother, was always quick to cry growing up. Either over a fear that his father would leave and never come back when he left for work, or over a scrapped knee from playing outside, but he would easily be distracted by magic and anything relating to it, or his older brother.

Although he didn't share an interest in flying and perfered being on the ground, he always listened whenever his father, brother, or grandfather would tell him stories of such. He took up an interest in magic soon enough when his mother taught them the basics and wanted to attend Hogwarts, especially with his older brother Rio going when he noticed that the older Myre had been accepted-which meant he could at least have someone he knows there.

What ended up happening after being accepted and being sorted into Hufflepuff, however, was that he somehow became matchmaker between one of his very first friends Isolde and Rio. Not only were they cute to see together, but they were both people who he confided in as well.

Description of the character: Isolde has blue-green eyes that are framed yellowish-blonde hair, this reaching about hip length. Her frame is a more petite one, both in height and weight, though she is most certainly not unnaturally short or slim. Most often she dresses in, well, dresses, skirts, tank tops and the like. She also seems fond of various jewelry and trinkets, almost always seen wearing a necklace composed of various, seemingly pointless 'charms'.

New Life Biography: Isolde- born of two muggles -was raised in a kind middle-class family on the streets of Colchester, England, by a mother widowed months before her birth. In the first year of her life, said mother found a new lover, eventually birthing a half-brother to their name and thus providing the family that Isolde would come to know and love over their years together.

Signs of her magical prowess began to show at a young age, for incidents began to occur where strange things simply seemed to occur without any logical explanation wherever she went. While her mother was oblivious, her step-father was quick to identify what was going on, for he himself was a wizard. While the knowledge that not only her new husband, but also both of her children, were wizards was a shock to her muggle mother, the woman managed to come to terms with such, and it was decided that both children would be sent to Hogwarts as soon as they were of age. Which young, always enthusiastic Isolde was elated about, and promptly declared she would act as her brother's guide and defend him should any other students dare step out of line.

...She was a bit overprotective. And despite her kind, bubbly and loving demeanor, she quickly made it clear she fully intended to keep her promise that any who harmed him would suffer the consequences. Kind as she was, never would she tolerate aggression towards those she cared for, and she had the mouth, strength, and talents in witchcraft to back that up.

Eventually, after receiving her acceptance letter and being proclaimed a Hufflepuff, Isolde began her inevitable quest to befriend anyone and everyone she could. One of these people eventually happened to be an unfortunate young boy who appeared somewhat nervous at the time by the name of Kit, who she quickly became close with and spent much of her time around. Much like her brother, upon his acceptance.

After a while, Kit introduced her to his older brother who was about her aged, named Rio. It was instantaneously that she fell for him, and the girl was clueless as to what to do about it, leading her to fumble slightly around him and act uncharacteristically shy and sheepish. Kit was spewed to about this, and eventually the two wound up, much to Isolde's utter glee, giving a simultaneous confession. Which she only had the courage to muster because of Kit's encouragement.

Description of the character: A young adult, standing a height of 5'7, with a seemingly thin but surprisingly toned shape. Fair-skinned and healthy in appearance, he keeps his naturally blonde hair well-kept, save for a few errant strands. Most unnatural about him are his naturally lavender eyes, as they don't seem to be the product of any spell you would know of. He looks like someone famous from the muggle world, but you can't put your finger on it.

Lloyd Whitaker is an outgoing and idealistic Muggle-born wizard, having been humbly defending his reputation in Ravenclaw house since his first year at Hogwarts. His magical aptitude was evidently not a product of any closely-identifiable heritage; as is with most children possessing magical abilities despite their muggle parents, it seemed as if the Whitaker's magical ability had unexpectedly resurfaced after many generations. Prior to getting the letter from Hogwarts, Lloyd was known for being as friendly as he was intelligent and witty. Sometimes, his outgoing attitude about his own intelligence seemed a bit. . .overbearing, but he still did his parents proud by achieving high marks in regular school, and eagerly accepting the challenge Hogwarts presented to him when he was just eleven years old.

For the past seven years, Lloyd displayed impeccable talent at wizardry, having out-performed even pure-bloods in his classes, and standing a living testament to the unpredictable nature of muggle-born wizards. This leaves many students (and sometimes teachers) suspicious and envious of Lloyd. Yet, no one can say that he hasn't been humble about his success - he's regularly seen helping fellow classmates and tutoring them, and he seems to know how to keep the right people happy at the right times. It's a question of whether he's just a nice person, or if he's building a burgeoning cult of personality around himself.

Description of the character: Nikki has long raven hair which is immaculately straightened; almost obsessively so; and bangs that are parted neatly to the right. Having taken a liking to the school uniform look, her outfit of choice is a plain white dress shirt and livid blue tie tucked neatly underneath a navy blue suit, leading into black dress pants and black dress shoes. Even when dressed more casually, Nikki prefers darker blue, black, and brown shirts, sweaters, pants, leggings, and sneakers. Even still, her sleeves are always rolled down to her wrists, her cuffs tight, and her shoes laced up, seemingly always presentable. Underneath all this though, is her soft blue eyes, fair skin, dimpled cheeks, and round chin.

Name: Nikki T. Hilton-Lynn

Age: 18

Biography: Born to the genius Dr. Hilton and the witch Mrs. Lynn in Great Britain, Nikki's early childhood was uneventful. She took heavily after her father, scoring consistently high grades throughout early grade school, but showed no signs of magical ability whatsoever. Despite this, her compulsory attendance at Hogwarts was fulfilled, but very short-lived. After a handful of months with a terrible record of failed classes, Nikki couldn't cast magic, and showed no sign of improving. By this point she was thought a squib, and was expelled indefinitely, being sent to live with her father who had moved to Canada during her time at Hogwarts for work reasons.

Despite her failings at wizarding school, Nikki continued to show academic aptitude all throughout Elementary, Middle, and High School. She readjusted to muggle life this way, as her studies remained a familiar and comfortable constant in her life, despite also having to adjust to her new surroundings. In a strange turn of events however, Nikki's wizarding heritage finally began to shine through at the age of 17, and she immediately insisted to her father that she apply to be re-entered into Hogwarts.

In the year it took for her application to be received and a response from Hogwarts decided, Nikki contacted a friend of her mother's at her mother's request. Nikki received tutoring from this friend in private until the day Hogwarts' response reached her. She was to be accepted back into the school, but under the condition that she be slotted into year 7 classes due to her age, despite her wizarding inexperience. In a heartbeat Nikki rose to the challenge and accepted.

Description of the character: A lithe young woman with a pair of hazel eyes framed by hair dyed blue, the back tied off in a short ponytail. Outside of her required school robes, she shows a preference for tank-tops and t-shirts of emerald and golden shades and jeans, though she almost always slips a pair of dark sneakers with yellow highlights on regardless if she's wearing the standard school uniform or her casual wear.

New Life Biography: The half-blood child of a pure-blood alchemist and muggle-born Curse-Breaker, raised in a Welsh home. A girl raised with the highest expectations from both parents yet rebelling against their control, seeking to explore the world and learn on her feet and through her own interests at Hogwarts rather than with the books set in front of her. A young woman whose idealistic sense of adventure has twisted into a bitter desire for freedom from a world of blood status and house allegiance, wanting to create her own place of greatness away from the wizarding society of Britain. Martha "Mary" Pleiades is a wild adventurer with a sharp wit, hesitant to put herself on the line for others in danger due to the trouble it might cause herself and quick to doubt the genuineness of others.

"Juno" is relatively short, standing at 5'5, and possessing a slim build. She has light blue, fair hair, often sports glasses, and periwinkle eyes to boot. She also has pale skin, and in her casual attire, tends to wear a light green sweater (fluffier than she'd personally like) and a short skirt.

Juno is something of a prodigy, a purebred young witch through and through, with both parents employed by the Ministry of Magic. A rather high-standard person in general, she quickly made Prefect in her fifth year, makes perfect marks in academics, and is generally a friendly person, if not a little stern and strict at times and by the books, often feeling irritated around people who enjoy goofing off or slacking off.

Though she respects Umbridge for what she'd done in the past for the school, she does personally tend to feel uneasy around her, despite being quite the model student, and while she may at times believe the headmistress to be unfairly strict at times, Juno has little desire to act out against her, at least at this present moment.

Wears glasses and is quite tall for her age (160cm), quite heavy but it’s becuase of her bones, not becuase she’s pudgy.

New life biography: Melody is a muggle-born who grew up fascinated by magic. When she got the letter, her parents let the excited child go to hog warts, maybe to be rid of her constant trouble making. She is very arrogant and a tease, she is quite cowardly but ultimately handles well it if push comes to shove. Her grades are unbalanced, she isn’t good with “boring” subjects, but is exceptional in hands on lessons such as defence against the dark arts. Despite her somewhat mean personality, she is quite noble and is very charming, although by that time, her strange antics and standoffish attitude would have scared everybody off.

Description of the character:
Wisteria is a girl of average height and weight for her age, standing at about 5'2. Surprisingly, despite spending a fair amount of time outside, she's relatively pale. Her dark brown hair is cut at about shoulder length and she has dark green eyes. She tends to dress casually, often in blue, green, yellow, or brown.

New Life Biography:
Wisteria is a single child born to a wizard and a witch. With both of her parents being familiar with wizardry, she was naturally delved into the world of magic from a young age. While she found magic interesting and fun, much of her youth was spent with muggle friends. They would often play outside, building tree houses, tending small gardens, and other such activities. Such things tended to be easier with magic she found, but there was something to be said for the experience of just doing it the muggle way. That was how Wisteria felt about it, anyway.

Eventually, like many wizards and witches, she would be sent off to Hogwarts. She performed well in her classes, scoring high thanks to non-negligible effort in her studies, and didn't really have any issues in Hufflepuff thanks to her straight-forward diligence. She has a habit of tending to plants in her free time.

Description of the character: Sam is around 5'8. He has short blond hair, blue eyes, a thin frame, and a pale complexion.

New Life Biography: Inflicted with a family curse promising to make the first born child between himself and his wife very ill, Sam's father refused to search for love. He gave in, however, when he met Sam's mother--a woman who already had a child of her own. He married this woman and decided to have a child with her, figuring that the curse possibly would not affect their child since his wife already had a daughter of her own. But this wasn't so. Being the first child between the two of them, Sam was still born with a bizarre illness that his father would keep under control through magical treatments.

Sam's illness leaves him feeling nauseous, weak, and tired. When his illness flares up, he struggles to eat and even finds it difficult to walk. Because he was a rather fragile child, he spent more time at home reading than he did playing actively with his sister. When he did play with her, however, she was highly encouraged by their parents to protect him and keep him safe. Despite these struggles with his health, he lived a quiet life with his family, a content and average existence until both Sam and his sister Isolde began to display signs that they were gifted in magic.

Isolde was encouraged to attend Hogwarts, while Sam's parents were far more uncertain with the idea of sending him to the school. They feared school would be too difficult on him and almost refrained from sending him entirely. Sam was adamant about going, however, insisting that they send him to the school alongside his sister. They agreed on the condition that he take a pet with him to watch over him, and regularly check in with Isolde so that she could monitor his health. His father also developed a pill he required his son to take that would help control his illness.

Despite being a timid, quiet individual due to a lack of social experience, Sam settled in well at Hogwarts. He found himself sorted into Slytherin (despite the fact he much rather would've liked to be in Hufflepuff with his sister) and really enjoyed taking classes. The school actually had a positive effect on the boy, improving his mood and spirits. Things were not perfect, due to the fact that he still struggled with his illness on occasion and found himself bullied by more rowdy students due to his awkward nature, but he managed well enough to progress in his classes.

Caleb Cato is an intense looking Chinese boy. Wiry but muscled, his dream is to become a Rugby star and even knowing magic hasn't quenched this dream. His hair is worn in the traditional braid and when not in uniform, he favors pants and a t-shirt. His bodily mimicry ability seems uncanny, especially when imitating his favorite action movies to friends.

New Life Biography: Cato is a delivery boy for his muggle family business, and is the only wizard in the family. The eldest sibling out of eight, he's a London boy at heart and in his youth used to run with a gang. Between his grandfather and his fellow House members however, Cato has found balance and seeks to leave Hogwarts better than he found it.

Description of the character:
Keith is a Caucasian male possessing dark-brown hair cut very short, hazel eyes, a healthy physique, hairless arms, and an early stubble beard. Standing at 6'1, he typically wears blue jeans, a collared shirt with two pockets, a t-shirt underneath, a watch on his left wrist, and finger-less gloves. The colors of said clothing are usually dull, such as olive green. His sleeves are usually rolled up to his elbows if it's not too cold, and he doesn't tuck in his collared shirt. He also wears running shoes that are mildly covered in dirt.

New Life Biography:
Born in Britain, but having primarily American ancestry, Keith's childhood was delightfully ordinary, and he was a mildly rebellious child. It wasn't until he grew older when he realized that he was a Muggle-born wizard. His parents were ecstatic at the discovery and enrolled him into the school despite his protests. He liked his old, energetic lifestyle better. He wasn't even that good at magic; he barely passed his classes and somehow made it to year 7 without being expelled. Ross Rhodes was a child born in legacy. Born and raised in America his parents, Jack and Melissa Rhodes loved there boy dearly, but their shadows laid heavy. Both went to Ilvermorny, the North American version of Hogwarts and both became house hold names in the Wizarding . His mother Melissa, while being a great talented witch she was a passionate writer. Melissa's writing column was seen all over the globe, giving her takes on different issues in the Wizarding world. Writing was not enough for her fans, Soon after she got acclaim, mother became a personality, making appearance all over the world giving her take and delivering speeches. Jack was also one with his own kind of legacy. A legendary former Quidditch seeker during his school years, Jack Joined the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. After years of hard work, he joined the higher ranks of origination. Ross's parents however, while both busy they always made time for him and always supported him.

Due to his mother's connections, Ross was offered the chance to be one of the first Americans to go to Hogwarts. He couldn't say no. Being sorted into hufflepuff, for the a while, he was lost. Being American, he felt like a square peg in a round hole, his thick new York accent didn't help. However that faded in time. Ross became the Hufflepuff team seeker and realize how he was a natural at it, even more than his father. Some of the plays he made were once in a life time. He never seems to hold back. He's talent wizard, mostly with combative side of things.

Ross is seen a rather aloof while not on the field , seeming not caring for much. He's often seen talking to different girls, and gained a rep for being a ladies man. Also he's trains himself rabidly,working on his physic. He and rival Quidditch player Rio are often seen waking up early and working out together.

While he known to be relaxed, he doesn't put up with injustice or dumbness. He's not one to back down from a fight When a young girl from hufflepuff was being harassed by three older boy, Ross allegedly warned the boys to leave. When one of them pulled there wand out, Ross apparently rumor say Ross rolled his eyes at the boy. "Man, I don't need my wand for you." And quickly moved forward and punched the boy, knocking him into a wall flat. Looking at the other two, he told them "this never happened, right? and to "Get." The boys nodded getting their knocked out friend and leaving. While the rumors of this event were known by staff, nothing could be proven.

Another time after a Hufflepuff beat Gryffindor, Rio and Ross were seen later that night arguing loudly, with Rio noticeably getting in Ross's face as Ross moved the two somewhere private Later, Rio and Ross were seen again later, both in high spirits, things seemed to cool but for though looking Rio was seen with blood on his shirt and slight blood on his nose. He later claimed his Sinus were acting up.

New Life Biography

Adele never really met her mother as she had abandoned her and her father since she was a child. Even though her mother wasn't in her life, she grew a simple childhood always helping her father around the house as much as she could. Adele learned how to cook at a young age as she got tired of eating her father's semi-burnt cooking and dedicated in the house chores. Each night, her father would tell her bedtime stories about how her mother was a wonderful woman who cared about them. Her disappearance was something he believed had a reason, and he gave Adele a tremendous amount of hope waiting for her mother's return. Throughout the years, Adele's father had been working with witches and wizards as he did not want to move out of the community in case Adele's mother was to come back home. He taught Adele about the magic world whenever he wasn't working, and she would read and study on her own. He saw her constant interest of wanting to learn magic so he promised that he would allow her to attend Hogwarts if she showed any signs of performing magic.

Even though she was a late bloomer, Adele Dumont is a bit of a slacker when it comes to performing magic. She barely passed any classes that required magic performance. But, when it came to knowledge about magic or any other subject, Adele knew that it was her chance to improve and avoid being held back as she would be known to study constantly for hours.

Her personality can still be a bit childish as she still clings to the chance that her mother will come back home, and in the mean time, Adele promised to herself that she would become an excellent witch. She will still write letters to her father as she worries that he is probably burning or destroying the house with every passing minute. Adele will also keep a small sketchbook as she enjoys drawing peculiar still-life objects and has small diary as she records her daily learning.
