That last name could be interesting, lol.

Here is a quick one The Kryst and often refer to themselve with the phrase Latreis Tou Krystallo, The lovers of crystal. Will look for more suitable names when not mobile.

I actually super like that. I'm good with the Kryst and Latreis Tou Krystallo if thats what you want

I haven't finished everything I want on the google doc (still need to add classes, races, and stuff like that) but I'll post what I have so far here

So we going to work on the Night Fighters (Ixe's Shadow) next or the Dwemer like people, or even some variant of what Unknown had suggested?

I think the dwemer like fellows. I like Ixe's Shadow vague as it is. We can expand on it further in RP if we like. But I think we're getting close to the end of the world-building phase and closer to character creation. I like the ideas you posted about abilities for the Kryst, but I think I'll leave that stuff more or less open for specific ideas during character creation. I do want to detail out these fellows, though. They're important to this world, I just don't know how yet.

Well, i could include more lore about it if you want, maybe add some historical relevence about a giant expedition was sent there after a lone scavenger found some valuable ancient tech, but the Expedition was nearly wiped out with only a handful surviving but that lesson still goes unheeded due to greed and lust for the unknown.

Do you want me to name some of the ruined cities and what was the extent of the Ancient civ's tech?

Sounds good. Is that ranger/survivalist still around? If they weren't in it for the money, what did they get out of it? Maybe he/she was paid to scout the area before the expedition went out?

I think this old civ made it off the planet, but they weren't FTL. Maybe our dwemer were the ones that's didn't escape with everyone else. Energy weapons, supersonic travel, cybernetics, almost unlimited energy resources.

ok, i thought of a sort of intro or part of one.

There have always been those in the Greater Parishes that have sought the Taboo and the Forbidden. There was only one non guarded place that could sate their thirst for this, The Forsaken Zone. It was named so by the Church, after they sent a massive exploratory Expedition of nearly 50,000 men, a good portion of their forces to it. They made it to the First City, the Touched call it Cita de Mortu, the City of Death., the Expedition had passed it off as supersticious ramblings of the diseased outcasts, they found out wrong. Only a handful of the men returned, even then only a few of them were of the right mind, after what they had seen.

Well I am still trying to think of things for the Ranger/Survivalist, but am unsure.

Nice. We'll figure the ranger stuff out, just a seed for an idea. 50k is a bit heavy for the casualties. I'm thinking that's the size of the entire Array. Especially since only one person scouted. I'm thinking more like 5k dead. I love the City of Death idea. At night in the Parish there's no light at all other than inside homes and what light the moon gives. But the City of Death glows in the distance. You can see the glow from miles away.

well i did think the numbers were a bit inflated, but was unsure how many people there were adn the like. as the rp is your idea, just feel free to tweak what i give you as you need to if you wish.

WE could actually have creatures that are non hostile when only like one or 2 people are near them but get increasingly hostile as more strange beings near them, so while it could be ridiculous that could nearly nullify and scouting attempts, which is why current parties are small, or something like that.

Or maybe it's a sound thing. The louder the sound the more aggressive the beasts get. Yeah the total population is like 2-3 million. Array no more than 100k

Some of them could sense vibrations through the ground as well. besides sense the destruction of the Expedition ahs become legend it si of course prone to being exaggerated and the like.

Yeah, the ground vibrations are cool. And the growth of the legend can inflate the numbers. Maybe it was really 2-3k who died, but the legend has it that 20k were killed. Let's say the expedition was 81 years ago, and no one who's gone there since has come back

Well very few, perhaps one of the few to make it back from the Zone was what lead to Lord Hermingild to take his current actions or the like.

So the dwemer like people will be underground and look different, but they will have tech to either alter how people see them or create hard light constructs that can act as a sort of solid illusion of sorts.

For sure. I like the Hermingild connection. The underground folk, let's call them the Lost for now, haven't been down there long enough to evolve differently than other humanoids, but their skin is pale, their eyes are weird, and they can see in much dimmer light than we can. Their skin is also a bit tougher. So there are for sure noticeable differences, but their bodies are more or less like ours. The tech is refraction tech, so they literally have personal illusion devices that can make them look any way they want as long as their height and general dimensions are similar. They might also be able to become somewhat invisible like the predator in the first movie.

or something like that.

Well i had said they look different as that was a suggestion of yours used previously in the thread i think.

for the Zone, If there will eb a lot of these creatures that hunt by sound adn vibrations they would have to have lost some other sense unless you want them to have the others to millustrate the point of the danger of that place.

My original thought was along the lines of the Pale/blind cave dwellers (can't think of their names, was once snow elves) in Skyrim, but they are noticeably enough different from everyone else, and they want to blend in and not be known, that they use these devices.

Not all the beings in the zone hunt/attack like this. Maybe these things are guardians, engineered to keep people out. They use smell and sound/vibration because sight is the most unreliable sense. They are so effective that a trained army of 3000 couldn't get past them

That could work, perhaps they are only around the Cities, but the Cities arent the only places in the Zone taht has the ancient tech, thus why there are the occasional survivors. There could be underground bunkers, labs or repositories, or even secret cave entrances into teh Cities past these Guardians.
