There was a long pause before Teresa spoke again, as well as quite a bit of time spent just opening and closing her mouth helplessly, trying to get out words that were lodged in her throat, making her feel like she was choking. For a brief period, she just stood there shaking ever-so-slightly, actually looking her age for the first time since arrival. Actually showing that, deep down, there was still a frightened child in there. Not that she'd ever admit it.

"H-huh..? Oh, yeah.. F-fine," she assured, forcing the shaking to stop and making herself regain her tough and calm demeanor. She stood tall again, chin up and head held high.. Like a true warrior.
Wander almost winces a bit at the answer. Yep, just as he'd thought. Nodding to Teresa, he tries to smile a bit. "Good, good. That's reassuring." If others could put on strong faces in times like these, Wander sure as hell could too.....though he wasn't about to take a swig of that stuff. "I'll, uh, pass on the spirits. Liquor doesn't agree with me."

He takes cursory glances at Riley and.....two new people, as they converse. Riley's world sounded unpleasant, to say the least. What radiation is, Wander can only guess, but from the context, it didn't seem friendly.

Legolas noticed all manner of chatter, conversation, and even a small skirmish here and there. It seems no one was focused on the priority, which was way above their heads, apparently.

"Does everyone not notice we are in the vicinity of rapidly collapsing structures?" he said in a raised voice. Unless perhaps in this time period, the threat of having an immense man mand building fall on top of them was something not to be feared in this "futuristic" time. He looked around for a possible path away from the failing structures should should he need to save himself and not the oblivious lot of the Coalition group.

Lisa looked over at the elf with a frown. "If you're thinking about escape plans, running away from a falling building isn't exactly simple. If it falls on us... that's it. Best we get moving, though, soon." Next to her, Frank grunted. She bore heavy resemblance to the much older man.

"Not so sure, but Plutia here says that it's name is Gnar," Lapis shrugged at Legolas's question regarding Gnar. She's never seen anything like it, but hey, this place is all sorts of weird.

I'm not sure if Gnar is a type of undiscovered Pokemon... Red thought as he scratched his head on the matter.
"... What, Red? What's this Pokemon stuff you're mentioning about now?"Lapis asked out loud about Red's thoughts, and to others, it was like she asked this out of nowhere.

"... still, no less ugly." Legolas took his attention off of the creature and towards the humans. "So, ladies," he said, "what brings you all together here? Do you not have any concerns for the falling masses of structure around us? Should we not venture forth towards higher and safer grounds to coordinate our plan of attack?"

"Gnar nada!" Gnar said looking upwards toward the two, and avoiding Legolas.

Teresa didn't really seem too interested in a drink, after all. "Err.. Thanks, shuck-face, but I'll pass." The Glader wasn't really a big drinker. "'Sides.. Prolly ain't a good idea to get drunk now of all times."

On the other hand, a certain blonde grinned at Joseph. "No. No I'm not." Ridley most certainly approved of this display, too. "Burning isn't necessarily a bad thing. Not in my book, anyways," she said, thoughtfully. "What I've got? Well.. I think you'll have to see on the field."

'Guess you're right.'said Joseph, taking back the bottle. He was tempted to make a joke about how flammable the drink likely was, but considering that the Vortex had clearly terrified Teresa, he decided to save it for later. Both the joke and the drink. He looked at Ridley. What was she?
'Depends which way you look at it. Most people have a fear of no longer existing, but that's why we're all here isn't it. In fact-what did motivate you to sign up for this mission?
He looked at Wander. 'What skills do you have?'

Finally, Legolas thought, someone who wasn't oblivious to the dangers of the area. "Higher ground," the elf recommended, "we shall be safer from the perils of those failing structures if we may find such a place in this... "New" York city of ours.

*Vi pats her head* Come here Ganr. I'll protect you from this mean elf.
Gnar scampered up back to Vi's head.

"Higher? You mean the top of this building? Not even sure if that's safe... and even then, heading to the ground floor from this building and near it is bad news too..."

Why was deciding things hard? Lapis hated deciding important things.

Riley shook his head. "No, no law or order. At least nationwide. Not since 2077, when the bombs fell. It became a wasteland full of radiation, and Lawlessness."
"Bombs? Wasteland?" Kalifa asked.

She wondered if the Wanderer was discussing something like the Buster Call, or whether he was discussing some sort of super-weapon.

Plutia

"Aww... Ok..."
Plutia said as they walked off.
Kalifa recognized Plutia from the Coalition Headquarters. "I see you made it here as well. A certain prosecutor noted your unusual enthusiasm."

He said nothing. Merely assisted and then removed himself quietly, as his attention was grabbed entirely by other things.

The presence of Shiki for one. The way he was regarding him earlier, so guarded gave the Archer the impression of familiarity. Or at least, something to note for later. His second and more prominent object of his attention was simply put...Swords. Or blades, if you wished to get technical.

The knife at Felix's side....

Jon Snows blade....

Even the odd mercenary, he committed each to memory and his reality marble. And in doing so, gained insight into each of them. All those who lived their life by a blade as he did in his time.

((Bad day to RP, called away so often. Will try harder tomorrow.))

"I agree, Naoya," the female keyblade warrior replied with a slight nod. "So we may as well get to work then. That is, so long as everyone is okay with that plan. Shall we walk around and find a safe location to hide out? Perhaps one with better reception so that our communicators might come in?" Aqua was prepared to stick with the group and do anything they had to do in order to accomplish their task.

Teresa just gave Wander a small smile, before suddenly realizing she hadn't introduced herself to the group. "Oh, and the name's Teresa. Teresa Agnes," she chimed, quietly. That was about all she said; she didn't really seem to be the sociable type.
'Guess you're right.'said Joseph, taking back the bottle. He was tempted to make a joke about how flammable the drink likely was, but considering that the Vortex had clearly terrified Teresa, he decided to save it for later. Both the joke and the drink. He looked at Ridley. What was she?

Ridley only laughed lightly. "Why would I fear that? I mean, it's quite a drag, living in a boring town full of boring mortals. I bet even nonexistence would be better," she mused, joking. Though, it was partially true. "What motivated me, huh? Hm.. My loving, heroic heart? My noble need for justice to be served? Wait, I've got it; my need to save lives." This was likely all sarcasm. "Anyhow.. The reason I'm here is so that I can prove to my family that I'm not worthless.. Or a monster." That was.. Probably the most info she'd ever given on herself.

"Ah, a base is a good idea, Claire," Aqua agreed, pausing to think. "But where though? This city appears to be quite a lot of rubble. If we want to find a suitable place to hold up, we probably should start looking to see what structures are actually still standing. Shall we get to doing that then?" Aqua didn't know Claire well enough yet to notice how hollow the woman's words were. She could tell the woman was down on herself, but hadn't exactly predicted more than that yet.

"Oh, I can used magic as well," Aqua added in reply to Shiki. "I've mastered the art of keyblade wielding, I'm an accomplished mage, and know enough physical combat to get around." Of course, Aqua was being modest. She was a powerful master, but didn't like to brag on her skills. As a pupil under her own master, Aqua had been taught modesty.

Aqua and Abel had a point in that most of the available buildings nearby looked risky to put people inside. They could collapse at any moment, and with such a crowd of people, it'd be inevitable. Still, they had to try looking around, and Claire had gained a knack for scavenging. "We find one that looks okay, and we go for it. We might not find much, but maybe we'll find some sort of indication of where we can find shelter. Or a source of food, anyway. Feeding a group this size will... be hard. Very hard." Claire remembered the other Claire's life working with TerraSave. The amount of people here could fit a small village, and there was never enough food. Never enough.

She paused, looking around briefly. "... We could ask others for help, but not too many. We don't want too many cooks in the kitchen... if you know what means, I guess."

Kalifa and Kaku overheard the discussion. Kalifa was busy talking with The Wanderer, so Kaku decided to handle it.

"It seems to me that you are heavily armed." Kaku said. "So, you are here for the same reason we are? To claim the bounty on the Arch Demon?"

Wander looks up, a bit surprised. "Oh, skills? Why, uh......well, I mean, I'm a great shot with this bow here.....not the best, but I can hit lizards from horseback easily enough these days. Uh, speaking of which, I'm a pretty good rider, I've got my own horse and all, Agro, that is, and......ooh! Right, this right here," Wander says, before pulling his ornate longsword from its sheath, "is a magical blade, it is. You see, back in my world, I've been tasked with slaying multiple powerful.....beings, I guess you'd say, it's a long story, but this sword is the key to my quest, what have you." Wander almost looks prideful as he shares his story and skills. He hadn't talked to another person in so long.....

"I second that... not sure if my luck is good enough that jumping off this building to the ground below would work fine..." Lapis shrugged, and deciding that she would continue her questions for Red later.

Why was deciding things hard? Lapis hated deciding important things.
"We shall find higher ground," Legolas said, gesturing to Lisa and Frank, "I suggest you all do as well." He went towards the others, and waited for them to recommend a direction, and continued to scan the area for any places not under threat of falling structures.

Frank answered her, not Lisa. He was old, and it showed. His voice was gruff and unfriendly. "No. No bounties. Just want him dead."
