The Envious One

Treisgar the Monk
Age: 125
Race: "Man" from Old World
Height/Weight: 6' 3" at 212 pounds of muscle.
Basic Appearance/ General Info: He has an overall average appearance. Fair white skin with long, black hair. His face is usually clean shaven if he can help it.
He wears the traditional blue robes of the abbot of a Glasaf monastic temple. The sleeves of the robes end near his elbows and above his ankles to allow for clean movement. The blue belt and cape are signs of his position in the monastic order. He wears a rounded conical hat that is held to his head via a silk strap. Wooden sandals are his preferred shoe-type.
Various areas on his skin are tattooed with magical runes. A complex string of runes is tattooed around the sides of his face. This particular rune-chain helps him achieve deeper states of meditation more quickly. It is used primarily when he needs to achieve deeper levels of concentration, but a battle is starting and he cannot enter the meditative state quickly enough.
Additional runes tattooed on the body improve muscular strength, breathing, endurance, blood flow, and speed. Some of the simple runes are in an "always on" state, which gives them a faint blue glow. Most of the others he can activate through thought. The most advanced runes on his body he cannot, as of yet, and they require incantation.
Finally, for his weapon, he carries a long pole. He is extremely skilled in the Guro martial arts taught at all Glasaf temples. In combat, he uses mostly hand-to-hand combat and sometimes he will use his pole. He is trained in the art of swordplay as well because of his military experience prior to joining the monastic order. However, he carries no swords and has not used one in quite some time. So he's probably pretty rusty.
Though Treisgar is extremely proficient in meditation and Guro martial arts (the two pillars of Glasaf teachings) most other Glasaf abbots believe he should not hold his current position. The previous abbot did not appoint Treisgar, but rather he earned that position by being the last member of the order alive after a devastating accident. According to their ways, he was given the position and charged with bringing in new students.
Basic Personality: Treisgar is a relatively calm and collected individual. He strives to spend plenty of time each day training his mind through meditation and his body through Guro. He is rarely rude, over confident, demanding, or easily offended. Of course, as a man, he can fall victim to all of these personality flaws. For example, he can be a bit sensitive when discussing or debating the accident that took place at his Glasaf temple prior to him becoming abbot.
His role as abbot has given him a somewhat protective mindset. He strives to protect his students, the population of the Old World, and the fellow members of the Heroes' Guild. Though, at times, other heroes can have a problem with this attitude. Particularly, the young and confident heroes can find him boring and strict.
