What type of characters do you like to play as

I like to play a variety of characters and character types, though my "norm" is female characters, which could be human, angelic, elven, fey, fairy, fey-like, half-elven, quarter-elven, and whatever else may strike my fancy. They are often young, like maybe the equivalent of 20's and 30's for a human, however this is not always the case. Roleplaying a human woman in her 50's or older could be interesting as well, and whatever the overall idea behind that would be. It also depends upon what game I have joined or made myself. I do not like roleplaying what's known as 'xerox characters' if I am even using that term correctly. Fandom characters that are not my own original creation, I would steer clear of, as that doesn't interest me and is not appealing for me if I did not write or create them myself. I am not really "too fond of" playing monstrous-type characters, though there are some exceptions, albeit a few here and there.

As far as human ethnicities go, I am attempting "to break out of the white or White American character mindset", and am interested in exploring other character types, like perhaps roleplaying a black woman from Kenya or part-white female or something to that degree. I don't think those get enough attention and I am not sure why. A lot of my human characters are white, but it would be interesting and educational to roleplay other skin colors and ethnicities, whether or not they live in the United States. That could be daunting for some, and it may very well require a bit of research beforehand. This could include various brown ethnicities as well, like Indian or Egyptian, for instance.

I can play both female and male characters, though my preference is usually female ones. Alignment-wise, I would have to say are usually good and neutral types. I do have some evil characters and character ideas, but the number for that is probably less than what was already mentioned.
