Interest Check [Cyberpunk or Arcanepunk] Exile From Metropolis

So, I mentioned this on discord but I don't know if you'd seen it or were aware @AuntRainbows , but I've been really sick the past several days. I just wanted to check in and let you know that I'm still interested and planning to make a character, I just haven't been able to function well enough to write the last several days. I haven't forgotten and I'll get there as soon as I'm doing a little better.
okay, I think the flu is going around where I live too. Because I am slowly starting to feel ill

Let me know if this works, willing to tweak anything that doesn't fit in.

Name: Naoma Shirashi

Stage name: Boon Bone BonBon

Age: Seems in her mid 20's.

Gender: Female

Nation of origin: Niponya

Sponsor: Niponyan Secret Service of Investigation, as well as Favertell Enchantments and Electronics.

Day job: Underground Idol/Pop Star, quite beloved by the general public due to her friendly exterior and kind attitude to her fans.

Appearance:

arcanepunktest.png

Combat appearance:

arcanepunktest2.png

Personal symbol: A spiral with two devil horns on top of it placed on the center of her forehead, her knees, elbows and lastly, her sternum.

Clothing style: Inspired by other Idols, but with many asthetic choices relating to bones, death and similar topics that make her image that much more iconic.

Cybernetics: Every single piece of her body is mechanical except her brain and her heart, though this last, even if it remains, no longer beats, and is a mere container for a battery of some kind of unholy energy that keeps her moving. Her enhacements, although not made for hand to hand combat, help her increase her mana production, as well as serving as tools for her magic specialty.

Skills: Advanced intel recollection, negotiation, advanced usage of Abyss and Metalic magic, thanks to extra metal across her cybernetics, she can manipulate her entire body, including her faux hair which she uses as her main defense, as a pair of extra arms in a way. She can also use the metal of other people's bodies, though she doesn't find a need to do so most of the time, rarely engaging in true combat.

She uses her fire to put on a nice show on her day job.

Rumors state that she's an advanced Necromancer, these rumors happen to be truth, though she does not admit this outloud, but she's willing to teach those who are convinced that they require this knowledge, they must pay a price of course, and always remember, that those who have gone to dust, never really return as their true selves.

Knowledge: Naoma, thanks to her many years of life, as well as countless resources, has a deep, extensive knowledge in many kinds of magic, especializing in those that are considered most darker, their taboo nature leading her to grow more and more curious overtime, and investigating further. Demonology, summoning and the ability to talk to the dead, are all things that maker her brain extremely valuable to her sponsors as well as allies.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral, according to herself, most would describe her as evil.

Personality: Kind on the outside, polite and well mannered, deceitful, calculating, a bit manipulative, loyal to her cause, but loyal to those she trusts above all else. Though she shows herself as a bubbly and funny person outwardly, she tends to creep out people once she begins showing her true colors, she's vicious, cruel, and often, uncaring of the lives of those she considers of less value.

Background:

Naoma Shirashi, known on stage as Boon Bone BonBon, is a legendary underground idol whose origins are shrouded in mystery. She appears to be in her mid-20s, but rumors suggest she could be as old as 80 or 90 although she appears eternally youthful. Questions about her true age are met with fierce denials.

Raised amidst the whispers of ancient magic and the hum of futuristic machinery, Naoma Shirashi always stood out. From a young age, she exhibited an uncanny ability to manipulate the elements around her, a gift she inherited from a lineage steeped in arcane traditions.

Her early years were spent in an underground enclave, a hidden society where magic and technology coexisted in a delicate balance. It was here that she honed her skills, learning the secrets of the arcane arts from elders who recognized her potential. Yet, her natural curiosity often led her into forbidden territories, where she uncovered dark, taboo magics that intrigued her more than any other.

As she grew, so did her reputation. Attracting the attention of powerful organizations, Naoma found herself sponsored by the Niponyan Secret Service of Investigation and the influential Favertell Enchantments and Electronics. These alliances provided her with the resources and knowledge to further enhance her abilities, transforming her into a formidable force. Her body was almost entirely mechanical since she was a child. This was not a product of vanity, but necessity. An accident in her youth left her reliant on cybernetic enhancements to survive, her magic was too strong... And her body was consumed. These mechanical augmentations became her allies, amplifying her magical abilities and allowing her to continue her studies, even if her natural body had nearly been erradicated from earth.

Despite her arcane prowess, Naoma craved connection with the world above. Adopting the stage name "Boon Bone BonBon," she emerged as a mesmerizing underground idol in recent years, captivating audiences with her electrifying performances and magnetic personality. Her stage presence was a masterful blend of traditional idol charm and an eerie, bone-chilling aesthetic that made her an icon.

By day, Naoma charms the masses with her performances as a pop star.

Nobody knows her true appearance, though, it doesn't matter much, those with the ability to see souls like her, will see the true form easily, and it is nothing but a cold void, ever reaching forward with ambition and hunger.

Her journey as an underground idol is not just about fame; it's a quest for deeper understanding and mastery of the forbidden arts. With every performance, she gains new souls for her collection, and keeps a low profile around those that could threaten her plans.

Favorite foods/drinks: Anything sweet, anything. She doesn't seem to consume much else, but she won't turn her nose away from any kind of meal if it is offered.

Likes: Teaching. The dark. Making new allies. Neon lights. Expanding her collection of bones and souls in jars, bring her something new, whatever it is, and she will be delighted to share all her secrets with you.

Dislikes: Fighting. People with bad manners. Sunlight, despite having replaced her skin long, long ago, she still finds that her optic replacements are still distrupted by the light of day, funnily enough artificial lights do not cause this bothersome sensation, showing it is not a problem with her body, but rather, her soul.

Housing situation: A beautiful large home close to the center of town with many, many secret rooms and spaces where she can keep her guests.

Kill count so far: She will not confess to how many. But taking a look at the darker places in her home, reveal a history of countless... "Additions" to her collection.

Short interview - Redacted by Nipoyan goverment after the incident... One of the incidents:

Interviewer: "Miss Boone Bone BonBon, are the rumors that you are older than you seem true?"

Naoma: "Excuse you? That is something you should never ask a lady, how impolite... I'm still young!"

Interviewer: "Well, are the rumors that you practice necromancy true? Reports have mentioned that you tend to go backstage with some fans that never return."

Naoma: "You seem to have a lot of sources, hmph. Fine, you want to hear it? Yes, I do, all kinds of awful terrible stuff that would make you cry to your mommy late at night. All of you may ask, why be an Idol if you do such awful things... The answer is as simple as the fact nobody would suspect of little miss Boone, would they? But you? You are no interviewer, you are a dirty little liar, a spy. You want to hear how I take their souls away, and keep their empty husks at little puppets? I bet ya' do."

Interviewer: "I think it is enough for today- Thank you for your answers."

Naoma: "Sadly, you know too much already, I can't let you go like this... Oh, and thank YOU all for your donations, I already needed to add couple new toys for my collection, and don't worry, I will take good care of you. Don't be afraid, it will only hurt if you resist."

Authorities then cleaned up the scene, though there wasn't much left, except for Naoma, and the now mindless camera crew.

But we could also do soul crystals as alternatives to cybernetically enhanced brains. Also I forgot: Should we allow elves and orcs as races/species?

Name: Ellis Aurora

Age: 28

Gender: F

Nation of Origin: Yotland

Sponsor: Currently an independent contractor after a break with her original sponsor.

Day Job: Mindfulness Instructor, Yoga Teacher

Symbol: triangular prism, beside her left eye

Clothing Style: Athleisure. Gym shorts, tank tops, yoga pants, etc.
android.jpg

Cybernetics: A little bit of everything. Ellis prefers to splice in rather than replace wholesale, so most of her body is a mixture of cybernetic and human. Her onbody suite is designed for maximized sensory input and scanning, with functionality across all light spectrums including ultraviolet and infrared.

Skills: Locating, tracking, espionage, yoga, and mental health. Ellis relies on the first set of skills to find those that are looking for before they can find her. The best way to avoid getting killed is never getting caught in the first place.

Arcane Affinity: Light. Ellis has a special affinity for light-based magics - whether that is using visible light as an extension of her own senses or condensing light into a laser, she has an extremely high proficiency with that one element. A number of her cybernetics are specifically designed to work with or enhance her light affinity abilities.

Knowledge: Optics, multidimensional arcane physics, lux arcana

Alignment: Neutral Good, currently.

Personality: Friendly, open, and confident, or at least faking it convincingly. Ellis does have some more introspective moments at times, but she tries to be upbeat when she's with others.

Background:
I went through a dark period, after the death of a friend.

We started young. Too young, but of course we thought we were invincible. Maybe that's what it is, to be young. I was never the one right out front, but I was close enough for support. Close enough that I felt like I was making a difference. We were making a difference, together.

I don't think either of us realized how fast the limb replacements were happening, for my friend. How little human was left, and how much machine had taken its place. I don't think we ever talked about it, it was more like... one day, I opened my eyes, and saw how much had happened. I remember that day.

It was the one where I came back alone.

I thought it was my fault. Maybe I was encouraged to think that way. Maybe it was something that couldn't be helped. After all, we were - I was - so young.

That was when I signed on with the Corporation. I wanted to be better than I had been, to be good enough that I could have saved my friend. I started replacing pieces with the bits I believed I needed. I helped them, because they had helped me. That was how it was supposed to work - you were supposed to help your friends. I had lost myself then, I think, or I was hiding from myself. I pretended I didn't know why I was finding people for them. Maybe I didn't know, at first, but at some point I couldn't deny that I knew.

It all came crashing down when the next person they wanted me to find... was my friend.

The one who I knew was dead.

I don't know. I... couldn't know. I ended my contract. They aren't happy about that, but I know enough about how they find people that I can stay one step ahead. I've been trying to give back, where I can.

If I make enough friends, maybe one day I'll be able to save one of them.

Ist that a human heart on her chest outside of her body?
Yes it is indeed a heart, perhaps it is a bit overkill? But I thought it would kinda tie in the creepy to her "true" form.

Also about the other creatures, since it is indeed already fantasy, elves and such do make sense, here's my pitch, feel free to use these as inspo or not use tham entirely.

Orcs could be like, really strong workforce, to carry out cheaper hardwork or construction with the help of machinery, or for body-guard/security kind of jobs. Elves I invision as either really high tech but opposed to combat, or despising tech and being reclusive and focusing on the arcane, and so on, you could use tropes of other fantasy genre as well.

If you do add orcs, I will defintely ask dibs on one to keep it as a meatshield for Naoma.

I kinda like the humans only vibe. I think there's enough going on with the different nationalities that there's not a need for different races in this one.

@AuntRainbows Mostly agree with Illi on this one, my idea on top was what to do if you REALLY want to add fantasy creatures.

But yeah, nations, so many types of magic and cool ways to combine them... I mean, Necromancy already in itself adds a whole system of ghouls and undead. Not to mention all the tech an such, if anyone wants to have an elf-type of charater, I suppose they can use like, enhacements to changer their appearance and whatnot.

I was gonna say, dunno whether the heart or the black eyes are more unnerving. If you intended her to be creepy, you definitely hit the mark.

"Inspo"?

But yeah, elves could be corpos or techies while orcs are more the bruiser kinds.

oh okay. Or how about, either through cybernetics, some people emulate the appearance of elves and orcs and demons? I will definitely add fantasy creatures in the wild such as swamp dragons in the sewers and stuff like imps.

Alternatively, if we have another sentient species, we can just do humans and demons. With humans having a kind of cold war with demonkind.

Great, she works then!

As for inspo, inspo = inspiration. I think? Maybe. It is, I just checked.

Now on this, wild creatures/none sentient are a good addition, eldritch/demon kind could be a little like, this clearly sentient force, yet not well understood by most, it could serve as an overall background thing to work with while we keep the main threat for nations being each other.

If we all agree long term, demons could be a REALLY cool threat for later on.

Most stories that use demons as an "extra" race or nation kinda miss the mark, since, demons would... Obviously be very powerful and likely not want to be in the same space as lowly humans, etc. I kinda prefer the more mystical/lovecraftian route for it

However I'm open to both ways, depending on what you and the rest prefer, I am full of ideas, but not particularly picky :]

I was also considering my character occasionally doing shady deals with the demons even though it is probably a big no-no.

We could possibly do the route that humans live the normal world while demons have their own realm that is only accessible by portals.

That was kind of what I was thinking!

Demons remain a threat, but mostly watch the human realm pretty much as a playground, and provide things people willing to lose something in exchange. I mean, you can kind of tell my character has a ton of demonic influence already.

That would also give our researchers an edge over assasins, even if each person can make a choice wether they wish to have contact with the darker side of arcane magic or not.

Like the idea of there being creatures but not inherently elves etcetera. Kind of keeps that cool blend of fantasy while not overwhelming things

Then I will add that there is another known sentient species known as demons but they live basically in a separate dimension and can only come to the human world through portals.

Also I'd say abyssal magic is basically demon magic to give it a difference over necromancy and dark magic. Abyssal magic could allow summoning of eldritch horrors, corruption of souls, manifestation of fears and even transformation into demons oneselves. And possibly dark flames.
