Ancient Forest (1X1)

She smiles at their gester and the promise they made. She had been an only child but now it was as if she had brothers now. A family. Still she wondered about what her mother feared about her being here. It was strange.

She smiles again to them. "I don't think there will be any trouble. I mean I hope not."

"It's just an extra precaution." Orange replied as they sat back in their original positions. "It's the best we can do to repay you for helping us like this, anyway. Especially after what we did to you before, we never really suspected anyone would do something like this for creatures like us."

She nods a little. "The stories of this place doesn't help but I'm not exactly normal either. I've always been weird." She shrugs a little. "What about your parents?"

For a moment, they all seemed a little unsure. But finally Orange spoke up again. "Well... we're not really sure who or what created us. Although, Red has been claiming recently that he's been having dreams about some... doll maker. We're not really sure what he means by that, but..." he shrugs as he didn't know how to finish what he was saying.

She tilts her head as she listened to what he said. "A doll maker?" She thinks a moment. " I wonder if I can find anything in the old library that was in town." She suggested. Then blinks a bit as her stomach growls. She was hungry now that she had warmed up.

"He said his first dream involved someone or something making little cloth dolls that look almost exactly like us. It's bizarre, but it's not like dreams can be controlled." He perked up a little as he heard her stomach growling, then smiles as he stands and spreads his wings. "I'll be right back." With that he takes off to the deeper area of the woods.

Dreams with cloth dolls? She wondered if she could look into such a thing and find information. It was worth a shot. She watches as he flies off. It amazed her to watch them fly.

He returned a few minutes later with a fruit in his hand, landing next to her and offering it to her. "This is something we've discovered recently. Supposedly it almost equals up to a human soul, so we were thinking if really started to starve we could use these, since we don't want to disturb the tribe. But no one's really hooked onto the idea yet. And now we have you, so..."

He shrugged and sat down. "We're not sure what effect it'll have on humans, but it should be safe for you to eat. We'll try to find something a bit more suitable for you if something happens or if you don't like it."

She accepts the fruit from him curiously. "I don't think I've ever seen anything like this." She says before taking a bite. It tastes sweet to her and almost seemed to melt in her mouth.

She nods softly. "This is amazing." She says.

The fruit's peel was almost a perfectly clean white, and while it was shaped almost like an apple, it was easy to bite into like a peach. Had the texture of a peach, too.

Orange smiled seeing that she liked it. Now they would just have to make sure it didn't effect her in any bad way. Then he looked around at who all was sitting at the fire and saw that someone was missing. He sighed as he stood up. "I'd better go find Red again. Something must be wrong if he's starting to avoid us so much." With that, he started off into the woods, walking this time.

She enjoyed the rest of the fruit as Orange got up and mentioned something about Red. She watches him go then looks t9 the others. "Do you ever have trouble out here?" She asks.

With Orange gone, Green is the first to speak up. "For the most part, we do okay out here. Not much happens, to be honest. Biggest thing we have to be careful of is trying not to starve. Or at least, that's how it used to be." He gave her a semi-mischievous smile, indicating he'd likely enjoy getting to feed from her.

She arches a brow at him but smiled as well. She nods. "The chief said he usually keeps his people away from here as well as strangers. It took a lot for me to convince him to let us here the first time." She pulls her knees to her chest and rests her head in them with her arms wrapped about them. She was feeling very sleepy suddenly as she yawns a little. Then she looks to the remaining brothers. "How old are all of you?"

Blue was the one to speak up this time. "We don't really know if we age any different from humans, so we usually just go with what these human disguises make us look like. So, that means Red is 17, Orange is 16, Green and Purple are 15, Yellow is 14, and I myself am 13. And before you ask, yes, we named ourselves after the colors we wear."

She smiles a bit and nods. "You are so young." She murmurs then shakes her head. "I see nothing wrong with your names. They are fitting I think." She says.

This received smiles from everyone, some seeming to silently joke with each other.

It was a bit easier to notice now that there seemed to be some cliques in the group. Small ones, but there seemed to be some brothers that were closer than others. Green and Purple were sitting rather close to each other and didn't seem to mind, Blue and Yellow seemed to be sticking together too. And so far it was seeming like Orange was often very concerned for Red, at least in the time Sarah had been here. Then again, quite a few families with siblings had that sort of thing, didn't they?

She smiles warmly to them all. How they were with each other reminded her of some of her friends and their families. She smiles again then looks back at the flames.

Her clothing had started to dry as it warmed up. The heat relieving some of her aches. Slowly her eyes drift closed as her head rests on her knees.

Seeing her about to fall asleep, Yellow got up and went somewhere into the woods, returning a few minutes later with the sleeping bag she had been using on her trip. "Don't suppose this'll be any more use to you?"

When she heard someone speaking to her, she opens her eyes and looks up at him. Seeing the sleeping bag, she smiles and nods a little. "That will probably be more comfortable. "

She stands up and gently accepts the sleeping bag from him. "Thank you." She says then lays the bag out by the fire. Once it was laid out, she curled up into it.

It took only a minute for her to fall asleep again. Her exhaustion finally winning out.

The brothers smiled to themselves as she fell asleep, and when Orange and Red finally returned, the six of them stayed as quiet as they could. They realized they would need some sort of shelter for her, they couldn't just leave her out in the open. And so one brother kept an eye on her while the others went into the woods to sort out that problem.
