Ancient Forest (1X1)

"Well... if your dreams can actually give you information about it, then I guess I shouldn't argue. I just sincerely hope you're right about all this..." He stands and glances at the river one more time before starting back towards the forest.
 
Shivers a bit and watched him go. She was about to head back to her hut again but the pendant began to glow suddenly and the area seemed to become darker. Her eyes widen and she yells for Red.
 
He stops dead in his tracks and turns around, taking a couple of cautious steps towards her as he tried to figure out what was wrong.
 
Sarah kept still as the area became darker. The water stirred again and her pendant glowed brighter. There was a dark laugh that came from the air.
 
Somehow Red ignored the fact that things were getting darker, but he couldn't ignore that laugh. He approached her but seemed unsure what to do or say.
 
Sarah was trembling and jumped a little when Red reached her. "What is it?" She whispers.

The laughter grew again. "I grow stronger every day. Soon you will all be my slaves again."
 
"I.. don't know." His wings spread and he seemed to try and protect her, even if he had no idea what he was protecting her from.
 
The laughter sounded again before the pendant sparked and zapped both her and Red. She yelps in surprise then the darkness fades away and everything returns to normal as if nothing had happened.
 
"Do you suppose there's anyone we could ask? Or maybe the ruins have something about this? Honestly, this person was pretty direct with their message, but I don't understand why they said 'again.' I don't recall being a slave to anyone, and I doubt they would mean you. You're too good to be anyone's slave..."
 
She shakes her head a bit. "I haven't been able to read anymore of the ruins. The language is too old for me but there has to be a way to read it." She shivers a little. "I don't know.....it may not have meant us specifically...maybe my ancestors?"
 
"Maybe... but you're the only one left." He quickly covered his mouth once he said that. "Of course, maybe they didn't know that... not until now, anyway." He sighed and crossed his arms. "There's gotta be someplace we can get answers for this."
 
She tenses a bit then nods slightly. "We need to tell your brothers. Everyone needs to be safe."
 
"They might not have even noticed it... but you're right, that's probably a good idea." He started into the woods, hoping for Sarah to follow.
 
She moves quickly to follow Red, staying close to his side. She was unsure and her mind was thinking quickly to try and figure out what had happened.
 
Once he found at least one of the brothers, he asked him to get all of the others together. As soon as all of the brothers were gathered in front of Sarah's hut, Red described the situation and made sure they'd be careful until this whole thing was figured out.
 
She was scared to be sure. This wasn't a thing to be taken lightly and was glad the brothers were being serious about it too.
 
When the message was delivered and the brothers dispersed, Red seemed unsure what to do. Part of him wanted to go back to the village and ask the chief if he knew anything, but to return to the village so quickly... something about it didn't seem right. But, like the chief had said, if they didn't trust him and his brothers they would've killed them long ago. So hopefully he could try to smooth things over.
