Changes

Gavin smirks and avoids the swatting his mother sent his way. He shrugs. "Just the truth."

Lisa rolls her eyes at him.

Serina nods softly." Sounds like a good idea. I'm sure everyone needs to eat too." She says as she sits up a little, though she wanted to just stay curled up to her mate instead.

Damien stretched then got up holding a hand out to Serina, "Maelith you think you can make a gateway for us to use. I don't have the power to teleport this many people and I wouldn't want to put the strain on Serina just yet."

Nodding slight she got up from where she had stretched out popping various joints as she murmured a spell to open the gateway to Lisa's home.

Serina took his hand and got to her feet. Going home? Were they really doing that? She walked at her mate's side, grateful to have him.

Gavin followed after everyone quietly. He was uneasy about seeing the damage for himself.

Lisa braced herself to look at her home again. It could be fixed and rebuilt. That's all that mattered to her now. She had her children.

Maelith nodded, "Get going I can't hold the portal open forever you know," Damien pulled Serina into the portal. When they exited they were in the front yard.

Once through the portal Serina grimaces a little at the sight of her parents home. "I really must have been out of it to not remember that..." she says.

Gavin was tense and very quiet. His expression guarded but to Lisa and Serina ,they knew his thoughts well.

Lisa moved to her son and touched his shoulder gently. "We can rebuild it."

He shakes his head and didn't look at anyone as he walks away.

Serina sighs and shakes her head. Then moves towards the house. She stops though as she reaches one of the trees and looks to it. There was a piece of paper attached to it.

The symbol on it was for the organization. Grabbing it she read it carefully. A frown filling her features.

"We know you will return here eventually. In the manner of professional courtesy, know that you are marked. White Dragon and Danic."
Sincerely The Underbelly.

Damien glanced over at Serina and the page she had in her hand, "What is it?" he asked softly. He noticed her over all body posture which told him it was bad news. Not that he minded too much but dear gods he needed a vacation at this point. A scent caught his nose as he glanced about slowly.

Maelith frowned as she stepped through the portal it snapping closed behind her, "I would say you did a number on the house, Damien. Couldn't have you know kicked some ass in human form?"

The dragon gave a shrug, "It was the house or risk my mate and what she cared for more," He was a logical thinker most days.

Serina looks to Damien and shakes her head. "The clan has placed a mark on my brother and I. They have given us a courtesy though which means we have a month until it goes open to all hitters." She shrugs a little. "It was to be expected."

She looks to where her brother stood off a ways. She could tell by his posture that he already knew. When he turned and looked at her, his eyes told her he expected it as much as she had.

Lisa shakes her head at Maelith's. "There are worse things he could have destroyed I'm sure." She smiles softly.

Damien shrugged, "I would like to see them try and take ya'll out," He chuckled, "How many of them honestly have dealt with a clan of dragons? He knew just how he was going to deal with this annoyance. It would be one hell of a favor but he knew too many of his extended family were bored with simply watching life pass them by. One thing was for sure they would rally if given the chance. Though that many dragons in one place was bound to show the humans they existed and weren't leaving.

Maelith smiled, "Oh sure. He's just bull in a china shop is all."

Serina smiles and kisses Damien softly. "I'm not afraid of them. My family has been the top killers for the clan for generations. To many are scared to even try and those that try are trying to make a name for themselves which will make them foolish." She shrugs a little.

Her brother had walked over at that point and shakes his head. "Does not mean you can be dismissive about the mark either little sis." He scolds.

Serina shrugs it off.

Lisa smiles at Maelith and nods. "That much is clear."

Damien nods in agreement with Gavin, "He has a point dear. You can't die as easily as you once did but you still have two very mortal beings you would love to keep at your side," He kissed her then glanced into the woods.

Maelith wondered around for a moment, "I suppose your place might not be safe either Damien."

He shrugged, "Safe or not it's harder to attack."

Lisa looked to the home that had been destroyed and then looked to her children, Maelith and Damien. "I think in light of the mark, this would be a wonderful time for a new start. I've always wanted to travel some in my retirement. They would be too foolish to use me against you two but I think it still wise I go to ground and just explore the world for a bit."

Serina manages a smile and nods softly.

Gavin nods but remained silent now. He had picked up on Damien's body language and was looking to the woods as well.

Maelith nodded, "Harder to attack... There are many dragon clans that would be willing to offer you protection Lisa after all you are one of them as far as many are concerned. You gave birth to a living dragon."

Damien nodded slightly at the female's words, "I don't they will attack but there are people out in the woods."

Lisa nods softly and moves to her kids. She gives Serina and Gavin hugs. "Then let us not give them a chance to decide. I will disappear and the rest of you get out of here."

With those final words Lisa used what she held of her magic and disappeared. There was no telling where the woman had gone as she knew so many places in the world and had survived worse things.

Serina looks one more time to her childhood home and nods. "Let's get going..."

Damien moved over to Serina and hugged her to him, "It will be fine," he told her gently then kissed her head before. He teleported them away to his home. Maelith sighed then moved over to Gavin, "Stuck with me for a bit it seems. Good thing I remembered I have a place that is perfect for hiding."

Serina nods softly and relaxed in his arms as she wrapped her own around him.

Gavin arches a brow. "I don't really see that as a bad thing to be honest."

Maelith laughted as she lead him through a portal that opened into a world he hadn't likely seen before. It was another section of the realm Kat lived in. A small house sat next to a river. A garden grew along the back, "Welcome to my home."

He arches a brow ,he seemed to be making that expression a lot lately he noticed. "Very cozy here." He said smiling to her.

She gave a shrug, "Been a while since I was last here," she explained as she opened the door. A fire blazed to life in the hearth while candles lit around the simple one room space. It was similar to a studio flat. A single room divided by screens here and there. A queen sized poster bed sat off to the far left of the hearth.

Gavin nods as he walks inside with her. "Still ,very nice." He said.

Serina had snuggled to Damien and was comfortable there but her mind was deep in thought about something.

Damien helped them to the bed then plopped down pulling her with him, "What has your mind?" He murmured gently to her as he kissed her cheek then brushed her hair from her face.

Maelith gave a smile to the male as she moved over to the hearth to start making some tea for them to drink, "Are you hungry?"
