Changes

She accepted the help back to her feet. To say she was sore was putting it mildly. Her father usually held back but tonight ,he had given her everything with each hit.

Her father looked to the male and narrows his eyes. "Her brother never changed and shows no signs of my side in him. When her hair changed, she was under watch. The boss had a dragon hunter close by at all times. To tell her would have killed her."

She glares at her father. "And now I'm being blamed for his death and everyone is after my head."

A low growl left her father at her attitude towards him. He always demanded respect from his children. "I know you didn't do it. You still haven't learned to change form and no your brother knows nothing of this and it will remain that way."

She shakes her head but didn't argue with him further.

The dragon rolled his shoulders slightly clearly not liking the loud voices from the pair, "Enough. Keep your voices down or you will draw them damned hunters here," Damien glanced behind him clearly being overly cautious. Without something to keep the hunters leashed they would likely begin to wonder outside of their normal haunts and that bothered him even more now. Three dragons in one area would likely draw some trouble. He gave a growl, "We need to move. Ya'll fight might have sent out some sort of warning."

He started to move up one of the paths towards the mountains. He debated with himself for a moment then glanced at the pair, "Come back to my home but be quiet as Maelith might still be asleep," He told them, "At least I hope so..." he added under his breath. He held his hand out agian for Serina to take, "I trust your teleporting isn't so rusty you can's find us in the mountains."

Serina was still angry with her father and it showed in her expression. There were certain things that could have been avoided if he had told her the truth.

She looks to the other male and nods, knowing he was right. She accepts his hand and waits for that warm feeling.

Her father was less trusting but wasn't about to let someone disappear with his daughter again. In fact he didn't like that his daughter was with the dragon to begin with. She wasn't supposed to be part of this world.

He nods. "I can teleperomance just fine." And follows the pair when they disappear.

Once back at the mountains she glances to Damien, "Don't tell Maelith about my match with my father. She doesn't need to know." And she didn't want the female to meet her father or see her because in about another minute, despite how much she was hurting, she wanted to go at the male again.

In moments they had returned to his warm cave and the male lead her over to those chairs again so he could get the salve for her, "If you don't want her to know then you should use a bit more of this to cover up those bruises on your face," He told he only to twist slightly as he heard a throat being cleared. Maelith oddly was awake and very angry.

Her eyes glared at the pair her cheeks slightly puffed. The dragon was a little concerned as she stomped over to the pair to give them a piece of her mind, "What the hell?! No note or anythign saying you were stepping out?!" After about a minute of her yelling at them she finally paused to catch her breath and take a seat in one of the chairs. It was clear by how pail she was that she had been quite worried about the two. It made the dragon move to make tea for the four as he noticed Serina's father. Oh joy. What must he think of this odd situation? Pointing to the chairs he invites every one to sit while he play a good host. Ginger lemon tea was what he fasioned in one pot while in a smaller one he made a peperment tea for Maelith adding a bit of the potion he had given her earlier.

"You should return to bed soon Mael," he told her as he handed her a cup poured some of her tea in it then set it on the table next to her chair. Then pour the other himself and the other two dragons the ginger lemon tea, "Let's be clear no fighting while Mael..." He got cut off by Maelith's growl which only made him chuckle, "Never mind I guess she's feeling fine."

"I am," She huffed at him then sipped her tea, "Lean anything while the dragon drugged me?"

The urge to face palm herself grew second by second after Maelith revealed she was awake. She shot her father a warning look that suggested she wouldn't back down from him if he started anything.

It amused her father and he arched a brow at her. He remained silent and stood by the chairs as the other male made tea. A human girl with a heart problem and a dragon and now her daughter. This was all getting interesting.

When Maelith asked if they had learned anything she wanted to say no but figured she could distract the woman from her bruises by telling her of the new knowledge.

"Well....this is my dad...who turns out to be a dragon which makes me half dragon. " She shrugs ,though glaring at her father over her shoulder.

The male only shrugged but said nothing.

Maelith sit the sip of tea she had taken right back out coughing hardd on the liquid, "You what?!"

Clearly she hadn't known as much about dragons as she figured she did. Damien threw a towel at her from one of the many selves that flanked the hearth, "Don't croak here it would be hard as fuck to explain what you were doing when you died," It was a playful tone that made the human glare daggers at him.

"Don't make me change my mind about cooking for you ash mouth," She threw back after she finally got herself cleaned up. Then glanced at the new male, "I'm Maelith," She intoduced softly holding her hand out to shake. Something about her was overly friendly with a smile to go with it.

Damien was huffing that she would cook for him any ways as she never liked what he cooked. As he got up to get a tin of cookies from a cabinet. The girl would likely be saying she was hungry in a moment any ways.

If she wasn't so angry with her father, she would have smiled at the other two and their antics. It was when Maelith held her hand out to her father that she shot the man a glare again. Warning him to be nice.

The male arched a brow at how his daughter was acting. He could feel her anger like a cloak. He accepts the woman's hand. "I'm Bralic."

Serina sighed and shakes her head, then tenses and looks at her father as she realized something. "You know who killed the boss..."

He shrugged slightly, rolling his large shoulders. "Your aunt has a temper.." was all he said and she stared at him in disbelief.

Maelith glanced between daughter and father for a moment before she asked a rather rude question, "You dye your hair don't you," She wasn't one to dance around questions she had on her mind. Plus it would make sense as to how an aunt could have white hair as well as one of his children. After all she had met Damien's parents they both had the same obnoxious red hair as he did. Sitting down again she picked up her tea and sipped it slowly clearly deep in thought again, "We should at least clear your daughters name if we can."

Damien perked up then, "Not with the hunters mauling about as they are," he states to her as a father might to his child who thought that playing with matches was fun. It earned him a glare.

Her hair pin which she had slept with in her hair was slippin loose. A moment late it fell from her hair. The sharp point pricked the back of her hand surprising her just as it tumbled to the floor, "Ouch," She muttered as she lifted her hand to her mouth to keep the blood from getting all over her.

Her father only smirked and shrugged at the hair dying question. "Her mother likes it." That earn a glare from Serina. "I have an aunt. Anything else you want to tell me?" She had gotten to her feet and was pacing.

Her father shrugged again but before he could say anything he caught the sent of the blood. His nostrils seemed to flare before he froze.

Serina was in front of him instantly. Standing between Maelith and her father. "That's why you have the nickname bloodlust. " She growls at him and he narrows his eyes at her.

"Don't forget your place child of mine. Your aunt will be handled but your name can not be cleared without revealing who and what you are." Serina was about to start another fight with the male. Something in her eyes changed a little.

Damien stood then knelt near Maelith to pick up the hairpin. He looked it over then frowned in a way that suggested he had seen it before, "Where did you get this, Mael?" Why hadn't he noticed it on her before? Quickly he put it on the table then tended to her wound. A growl rumbled from him as the other male in a way that stated clearly he would have to go through him to get to the human.

Maelith huffed at them all, "Oh geeze it's just a little prick that's all," She pointed to Serina at the question though, "I got it from her," It wasn't accusing but honest.

He sighed softly, "I suppose it is good you have it either way," He told her, "Though don't let any others get ahold of it. That would be dredful to a dragon. He had been around for some years and knew when he was looking a elf steel as it had been nicknamed among dragons and the slayer who had forged the weapons. The weapons were given to women mostly as they were normally able to get close to male dragons without much trouble.

She blinks slightly. "I've had that in my store for years...." she shakes her head a little but her eyes never left her father who she was watching closely.

He stood there quietly. It was clear he had destroyed what little relationship he had with his daughter but he didn't regret the decisions he made.

"I will deal with your aunt." He says.

"Like you've dealt with me?" She retorts back sharply. Something changed again in her eyes and her father saw it this time. He narrows his eyes a bit. "You haven't changed yet...."

Damien glance up at the two, "She might not have the proper energy to force a change," He says, "Halflings are rare after all..." he paused for a moment. He seemed to be listening as he haulted the breathing in his chest as well, "Mael," He said softly, "Remember the backway out of the cave?"

The human blinked up at the dragon then nodded slightly but didn't say anything, "I need you to take them and go out that way be as quiet as possible," He had finished bandaging her hand and handed her the hairpin back, "You should be able to find a path around the falls back there but be careful," With that he headed to his training room and came back with a pair of swords, "Get."

Maelith didn't ask and didn't question if the others were following her. She simply did as she swore she would do if he ever told her. She grabbed the backpack that sat by the doorway hauled it onto her back. Cracked a glow stick and moved the tapastry aside slightly so she could move behind it where there was an opening in the wall, "This way," She whispered softly without looking back.

Damien knew the sounds of his cave and there had been a change in the sound of the falls toward the south side of his home. The change told him people were coming. Possibly hikers but something in his gut told him not to think such not at this time of night.

Serina's mind instantly flipped away from wanting to beat her father to survival. With her mind on that, she focused on Maelith and getting her out of the cave. She followed her through the path, her knives were already in hand and her eyes focused.

Her father was not with them though as he stayed with the male. "Smells like a six man team." His eyes flicker. "Four I know from my group." He spoke softly.

Maelith found a lantren that hung from a peg a few yards into the tunnel. Striking a match she lit it, "I'm glad I'm not alone," She told Serina. She visibly shook as she made her way deeper holding the lantren to light their way. Water dripped from this place and that from the ceiling. A small stream cut its way though the middle of the path just deep enough to cover their shoes.

Damien glanced at the male who stayed, "Don't think you are endangering your children by being here?" He retorted. The male wanted the other to know that he didn't care for his line of thought when it came to his children and their well beings. As the team came into view the dragon demanded they state their purpose.

Baldric shakes his head. "No one has seen my face before." He shrugs. "It's better that way in this line of work."

He watched the team as they approached. It was their movements that told him they were not here just to search the cave. They some how already knew it was occupied.

Serina smiles a little to Maelith "I won't let anything happen to you. " She says to her then gently follows behind her through the cave area. She wasn't exactly happy about the area either but she wasn't going to let anything happen to Maelith.

The men stopped when they came across the males sitting there. "Just out for a hike. " one of them smirks.

Damien's eyes glowed slightly as he took a step forward at this point his mind no longer cared who they were or what they thought they were doing. Even the other dragon in the cave seemed to fade from his awareness till only the intruders existed, "You hiked the wrong way, chico," He muttered as he head the sword in his left hand out at them, "Don't worry I'll bury your corpses after I'm done," There was a hint of a something in the way he stood. He wasn't worried about loosing. This was his domain and they were simply visitors.

Maelith knew the way well enough and in a matter of minutes they were coming to a cave entrace with a large water fall curtaining the opening, "Be careful to keep you footing the stone is very slippery," She told Serina. Her words earlier had made her feel safe and relaxed. She knew how this went. If any one managed to kill Damien she would call his family to help with things. She had the phone in her bag that held the only number they had. The human girl hoped she didn't need to call them.

Baldric was silent and watched the male. It was clear he was ready for this fight and it would be a simple one. He wasn't about to prolong it either.

He moved suddenly as the men were distracted by Damien. He disappeared, teleporting and appearing behind one man. A clawed hand suddenly burst through the guy's chest without even a scream to fall from his lips.

Chaos erupted as two men tried to run. Baldric didn't allow it and cut them off. He ripped the chest out of one ad sliced his claws through the neck of the third.

Serina nods slightly at the words of warning. "Gotcha..." she says and follows carefully, watching each step to make sure it wasn't one to cause a slip.

Damien wasn't known for playing fair on any level. He dover right into the middle slicing one man's head off while another was run through with the other sword. He twisted the blade as he pulled it free making sure the man would bleed out quickly. A foot caught him on the shoulder but didn't faze him as he brought that shoulder's arm up to slice the male's inner thigh tends. It was the smart mouth he smirked right before he killed the last man that aimed to shoot him with a through of his sword, "Now you will tell me what you came for," he growled at the on who now couldn't hope of running.

His golden eyes stared down into the human's, "Either way you will die but at least you will be of use before then," He said as he put his blades in an x across the human's throat. The scent of blood was heady and called to that more primal side of him that demanded he just kill the bastard and eat the flesh that remained. Don't fight me his eyes told the one below him.

Maelith was nimble but not so nimble to avoid the hand that grabbed her shirt collar and knocked the lantren from her hand. That hand threw her against the cold stone wall as she felt something shape at her throat. She swallowed thickly.

"Move and I will kill her," Came the soft female voice that came from her assailant.

Baldric watched silently after he had finished with his own killing. His eyes were dark and his form seemed to be giving off steam as he stood, flood dripping from his now human hand.

The coward was trembling now but there was no escape. His skin pale and his heart beating fast. "We were told to come here. That with the boss gone, we could hunt the mountains again. "

Serina tenses up sharply, her hands gripping her knives tightly. She glared at the attacker. The only thing keeping her still was the knife at Maelith's neck.

She sheaths her blades and glared at them. "Let her go."

Damien leaned in closely, "By who?" He asked staring into the very soul of the man in his grasp. Once he had his answer he would kill the man severing his head from his shoulders, "Let lady death hold you tonight."

Standing he looked to the other dragon, "We need to find the girls," He stated then headed out the front of the cave. As he moved he shifted his form from human to dragon. It was clear he was still itching for a fight. A loud roar escaped him as he took flight to loop around to the back side of the mountain.

Maelith smiled softly at Serina, "It's okay, Serina," She said, "I haven't feared death ever," And with that she used her weight combined with that of the heavy backpack she carried to push the woman and herself away from the wall of the cave through the water fall till they were free falling. The woman clearly caught of guard let go screaming as she fell with Maelith down the cliffside of the mountain.

What happened next was purely luck. Darien in dragon form appeared in midair catching Maelith by legs in his forearms. His hiss down at her showed how displeased he was with her. All the while she was laughing too hard to say anything.
