Changes

Serina looked to the male as he approached her. She accepted the scale from him and closed her hands around it. She nods softly at his words and manages to say thank you to him this time.

She nods again at Damien's words about resting. It would be a good idea. When the door opened that led them back to her parents home, she was hesitant but then holding the scale ,she walked through with the others.

Lisa stood at the door to the cabin, watching as the group came forward. Tears were in her eyes as she saw the look in her daughter's eyes.

Serina went to her mother and presented the scale to her. Lisa wanted to break down but she hugged her daughter tightly for a long moment.

Then Lisa pulls back and looks to the others. "Come on, let's get you all fed and rested. Food is on the table and the fire is warm."

Damien was like a shadow to Serina for a long moment before he realized he was being protective of her and moved way. He was sure she wanted to be with her mother for now. He bopped Maelith on the head as he walked by. The human smiled softly as she followed him inside. After a moment of talking Taelie left Morty's side and headed in with the other two.

Morty moved over to a bench and sat down, "You're home is beautiful, White One," He whispered, "I hope you find resp among the groves of your lands. Guard your mate from the other side. Hold the light high for when she comes to greet you in Vahalla."

Lisa was more firm with her daughter this time about getting her to eat and rest. She made sure that everyone had food and some tea to drink.

Serina was in and out of the numb state and that was what concerned her mother the most. Never had she seen her daughter so lost. Always strong. She remembered her daughter taking on the jobs as if it was second nature but at the lose of her father, the girl seemed lost.

Once Serina had food in her stomach, Lisa got her to lay down close to the fire so she would be warm and she could watch over her daughter.

Damien laid down across the fire from Serina. He wasn't sure what was wrong with him at this point. Why did he want to comfort the other? He didn't know her. Closing his eyes he covered them with an arm.

Having already slept and taking care of herself Maelith sat near Lisa, "She's going to be fine," She mused to the other woman gently.

Tealie sat in a chair and knitted a scarf. It was something she had always enjoyed doing.

Morty came in some time later to thank the woman for the food before taking his meal outside. A man used to living under the open sky didn't care for the enclosure of homes much.

Lisa nods a little at Maelith's words. "Her father always pushed her so hard. She was the top killer." She shakes her head. "Never thought the day would come when something would rattle that calmness about her."

When the other male came in and got some food, she was glad to see it. She was going to make sure everyone was fed and tended to.

Serina slept quietly by the fire. The heat helping to ease her. Fire always did, ever since she was a child she had been drawn to heat and the flames. She slept for a while. A deep slumber that took over when her body knew it was needed. She dreamed of flying, flying with her father.

Maelith smiled softly, "Fathers and mothers will return to the earth when a child doesn't believe they are ready to be left alone. But in truth there isn't any such thing as being ready for that loss," Her gaze danced to the woman, "The summer will come again."

Damien found sleep something he found little of and when he did he was thankful it was without the dreams of the future that normally came as well.

Lisa nods softly, patting Maelith on the knee gently before getting up. " I best make some more tea."

Serina slept for a bit more, curling up a bit tighter as she laid there beneath the blanket. The dream of flying with her father seemed to ease her as she relaxed again.

When she woke several hours later ,she opened her eyes but didn't move yet, just stared into the flames for a moment.

Maelith smiled as she leaned back in her seat a bit more. It was interesting to watch the room around her. She found herself changed after awakening to her past lives. Closing her eyes she tried to figure out if magic still lived within her.

Damien opened his eyes as he stared up at the ceiling. He wasn't sure why he was still here. He wasn't needed really. Sitting up he sat up and looked over to Serina at the otherside of the fire. He noticed her eyes were open, "Hey," He greeted her gently and softly. His red hair was messier than usual which he seemed to sense as he combed the fingers of his right hand through it.

Taelie had gone out to be with her mate sometime ago.

Lisa was making more of the tea in the kitchen. When she saw more people waking up, she started pouring it into cups.

Serina was still staring at the flames when she heard someone say hey to her. She blinks a little as if his voice had brought her out of a trance. She looks to him and smiles. His hair she realized looked cute being messy. It made her smile again when he ran his fingers through it to try and tame it. "Hey."

When her mom came over with the mugs of hot tea, she gently sat up and accepted it from her. Lisa then handed one to Damien. The woman arches a brow at him then smiles and turns to Maelith to give her one.

The male gave the female a rather unintentional goofy smile before her mother made him remember he had been spoken for and should keep the promises he had made. Blushing slightly he accepted the cup of tea and sipped from it. Lisa's smile made him feel a bit more uncomfortable. Excusing himself he got up and headed outside for some fresh air.

Maelith took the cup from Lisa as she noticed Damien leaving, "He's got a confused heart," She noted to herself mostly. Her gaze danced over to Serina and then to Lisa. Mothers were normally really good at telling what their children were feeling.

Lisa nods as she took a seat next to Maelith. "I figured as such. It's never good to be confused about love. All it will do is hurt more when it comes to making a choice."

Serina blinks a little at Damien's behavior and watched him leave. She sips on her tea and looks back to the fire. She had seen the look on his face and in his eyes. She pushes the thoughts away instantly. She wasn't what anyone wanted and she had to remember that. Her parents had made it work with the job but there was no way she could. She had never even dated even.

Lisa smiles a little."always the loner." She murmurs.

Maelith grinned like a person who had seen so many things that this was easy to prodict, "You know the only way he can get out of the proposal is if another is presented to his mother before the first one is consumated," It was just an odd thing that dragons had in their rule of how to court. The mother had the say of who would marry her son. After all sons were presious in that they would care for the mother of his offspring no matter what.

Damien sat out under one of the trees. His cup sat on the ground near him while he held his head in his hands, "I can't..." He found himself saying as he leaned back against the tree. His eyes were closed as he simply took in the cool air that surrounded him.

Taelie and Morty were asleep in each other's arms against a tree deep in the woods.

Lisa tilts her head. "I didn't know that. Baldric didn't speak much of his traditions ,only to tell me that his sister and him where the only ones left of his family line. " She shrugs a little and shakes her head.

Serina finished her tea and stood up stretching. Her mother knew that look and watches her daughter carefully. "Don't over do it. Don't want to treat more bruises again."

Serina smiles to her mom and nods. "Just gonna do some exercises." She says and disappears to a back cavern that opened up into a training area. She settled into her routines, the ones her father had taught her.

"I see. Well if he didn't expect his daught to become the dragon or his son," She glanced at the woman slightly, "He wouldn't explain the inner workings of the society as it wasn't needed. Well what do you want to know about?" She asked softly. Maelith's access to her past life's memories allowed her to pull on what they knew about things.

Damien was quiet for a long time as he fell into meditating. Something inside him was off balance and he wanted to understand why.

Serina pushed herself through each exercise until her body was fully exhausted from it.

Lisa nods softly. "I suppose I need to know all about what to expect for her. She will need to know how to be with other dragons though so far I think things are okay but it's hard to know where to start asking questions. Her brother never showed signs of any of their father's blood in him and at the moment he's off grid so getting in contact with him is hard."

She smiled as she leaned back, "I'm sure he happens to be a late bloomer. It might be why he is off the grid. Males tend to experience bloodlust at a higher intensity," The female sipped her tea, "Does he have contact with this astranged sister of your husbands?" She was simply speculating at this point.

Damien's eyes flicked open as he realized what had him so confused. He bit his lip. What to do about it though?

Lisa shakes her head a little. "None that I'm aware of. He never wanted anyone near his sister because he knew she was more violent. I met her once. She wanted to kill me. She doesn't like humans. " She says.

Serina finished her training , being covered in sweat, she needed to shower. She heads through the cavern and to the cabin. She gives her mother and Maelith a smile before heading to the shower.

The news made the female frown slightly, "It's not uncommon but rare for a dragon to be so hateful towards humans. They are normally quite forgiving to those weaker than themselves."

Damien moved into the house again to get another cup of tea. He spotted Serina as he did. The sweat that coated her skin made him pause as he stared after her. Closing his eyes he told himself to keep it under control.

Lisa nods a little. "He wouldn't tell me the reason behind her hatred. He would only say that it was not something she was born with but an anger that had been put into her." She says.

Serina pauses a little as she felt eyes on her. She blinks as she found Damien looking at her. It was her turn to blush. She gives him a smile then quickly disappeared into the bathroom.

Maelith hummed as she tried to figure out in her head why the dragon would say such a thing. Anger was an emotion. She sighed perhaps one of the other two would know but she didn't want to bother them yet. It had been aroung a thousand years since they had been with each other. It was best to let them be.

Damien poured a cup of tea and downed it all in one gulp. The heat in him needed to be cooled some how and the bathroom was occupied or he would take a... The shower turned on and he had to get out of the house. His prompt exit only amused Maelith all the more.
