Conley Brothers

Vlad smiled when they came in, much more reserved himself but he found he enjoyed how excitable they were

"What doing today?" He asked them curiously, still learning about this strange new place

The twins wedged themselves into the wagon, literally crawling over each other as they tried to get around, under, or over each other in the tight space and get close to Star. Vlad patiently folded his legs up out of the way to give them more room. "We are going to watch the people, then we are going to preform tonight! Maybe help at the ticket booth."

"I need to go out and take care of some business," Vlad said. "You three stay out of trouble. Star, be sure to get plenty of rest, and if you get hungry or thirsty, help yourself to the pantry."

Star nodded to Vlad, acknowledging him but his focus now on the twins "watch the people?" He repeated and tilted his head "watch them do what?"

The twins nodded, and one pushed forward. "The people come and go and talk and interact, and they have shiny things!"

Vlad shook his head as he stepped out. Those two never ceased to keep him on his toes. He sighed softly as he walked toward where the extra carts were stored. It was nice to be on his own for a little. He truly enjoyed people and liked being around the twins and Starnacht and Camilla, but there were times when he just needed to breathe. A nice stroll across the circus grounds was a good way to get that time alone.

He reached the wagons and slowed as he looked them over. He wanted something small, something that would not strain the unicorns to pull along with his wagon, but be large enough to essentially give Starnacht his own room. He smiled faintly. The twins would be jealous until he reminded them that they always ended up sleeping in his bed, anyway. He started perusing, thinking to himself.

Spectra was there when he came around the side of one of the three available wagons, precariously tip toed on top of a bucket inspecting 2hat might be wood rot near the top

Spectra jumped a little when he spoke, where most might of fallen ahe somehow manged to turn the tumble into a graceful fall and land lightly on her feet "well I wasn't until you startled me"

"If not me, then another," Vlad pointed out. "I was very saddened to hear of the loss of your wagon. Do you have need of any replacemets? I have a few extra things you could take on."

"I appreciate it but I think I can save most of the necessities with a little magic" she said, glancing up at the wagon again. Wasn't as nice as her old one "mimics salvaging wheat he can from the mess now...I wouldn't say no to a hand getting this junk heap fixed up though" she could do a lot with magic but a wagon was a big much for her skill level

Vlad looked the wagon over doubtfully. "I think it has promise, yes, but you are certain this is the one you want?" he asked.

She nodded, stepping back a little to look it over from that angle again "yes..I like the shape of it...needs work but will suit my needs best I think...Mimic will let me stay with him until this is fixed up"

Vlad nodded. "Then I can add you in fixing up this little house into a home. Perhaps I could request your help in finding a small tag-along wagon for me?"

She smiled "be happy to" she said "I'm guessing for little Star?" Made sense he would need more space for the little guy

Vlad nodded. "Yes, I need something that does not let in much light, a quiet place so he can sleep during the day. He can sleep in my wagon for now, but the twins are not exactly quiet."

"Here...this one I think would be just thr thing" she went around thr other side where a smaller wagon was hidden behind the larger one. Looked in pretty bad shape but fixable.

"Perfect!" Vlad grinned. "And now just to fix it up. This shall not be too difficult. Hmm... perhaps we can use one of these less fortunate wagons for the wood." He looked around and walked over to a particularly dilapidated wagon that barely rolled. "I wonder why he should have such a sad little device?" He shook his head. "In any case, I will go get my tools, and I will work on this before and after my shows. Does this sound agreeable to you, Spectra?"

"Of course" she smiled "Chib would probably help too. I'll ask him" she decided "i better get to the big top speaking of...I'll be up soon"

Vlad nodded. "Go and be beautiful! I have enough time to move my tools to here where it is more convenient, then I should change my jacket and join you. Break a leg!"

The show went off without a hitch this time, and nothing went wrong. The night passed quietly without anyone running into Keith, who prowled the darkness of the inner circus, giving Camilla's wagon and the new tent housing the strange experimental creature a wide berth. He'd remember the pain Claudius had inflicted, but for now, he'd been ordered to stay away, and he would obey his master.

The sun hung low in the sky as a new night approached. Claudius sat in the very center of his cage, staring at the door intently.
