Dark Stuides

She hesitated but she saw the look in his eyes. She nods and moves to start getting some food put together for them. Smokey stayed close to her side which was a little abnormal for the usually independent cat.

Putting down his things the male moved outside and sat on the doorstep. His gaze stared at the fool who stood across the way staring at the appartment. In a flash of movement is was across the street and over to the man, "See something you like?" He growled. His eyes were no longer the red brown but ruby red so the other could see clearly that the man before him wasn't normal. There was an air that stirred around his form. Every fiber of his being stated he wasn't one to mess with.

Mary got a good meal ready for them and kept herself busy with the preparation. She wondered why it was that Hexel wanted to go back outside. Could she not have been imaging things?

That made her uneasy. She looks around a little. Then shakes her head. That couldn't be it. It was all in her head.

After a few words of exchange the human ran off down the street clearly trying to get away from the demon. Straightening himself he tossed his hair over his shoulder then turned to head across the street and back into the house.

Mary had most of the good ready by the time he came back inside. She smiles to him when he comes back in. "Food is almost ready." She says.

Smokey went running over tobhim, wrapping herself around his legs and purring to him.

The demon picked up the cat and scratched her belly lightly, "Lazy watch cat," He called her playfully, "We should trade you for a lynx or a lion," His glaze danced to Mary the red color of his irises remained still making him look more demonic. Sitting down at the table he smiled at her, "Smells good."

She smiles to him but she saw the look in his eyes. "You okay?" She asks softly.

Smokey patted at his pant leg for his name calling before scampering off to the window again.

Mary arches a brow. "You keep insulting her and she may sleep on your head."

He glanced at her, "I'm alright now. It will go away in an hour or two," His gaze danced over to the cat. He knew all too well what she had said to him about not liking being called lazy. Plus she didn't know she was supposed to be watching for people.

"She will like me again in the morning," He smiled at Mary.

She rolls her eyes at him. "Not if you keep making fun of her. She may stay mad at you longer. " She smiles and starts to set the food on the table for him.

She was still curious about his eyes but she didn't push the issue and trusted him. Knowing he would tell her if something was wrong.

He was sure of himself and of his ability to make someone fear him. Hexel glanced over the food and smiled softly. It smelled good. He would patch things up with the cat later tonight via a nice long conversation the old way.

She sits down and starts to eat as well relaxing a she does so. Her thoughts about imagining things forgotten. "My classes start back up the day after next. So I figured tomorrow I can take you to the library so you can also find some books to read." She suggests.

She smiles to him and nods. He seemed a little different though. "You sure you are okay?" She asks gently.

He glanced up at her rather surprised that she didn't take him at his word, "I am a demon, darling, we are made to strike fear into the hearts of humans. What makes you worry if I'm alright?" He didn't understand what made her become so concerned.

She looks at him a moment. "It's your body language.....it's different since you came back inside." She says to him. She did trust him but she did also care about him.

He gave a sigh as he moved over and crouched before her, "When I express what I am it makes me a bit more like what I am," he tries to explain, "You have only seen the skin I where over my true-form. I hope you never have to see that side of me," He took her hands in his and pressed his face into them. A soft gentle kiss was pressed to each one.

She nods softly to him, and smiles a little. "Okay hun. I trust you just so you know but I care as well." She smiles to him.

He cupped her chin as he rose slightly and kissed her lips gently, "Thank you," Was all he could manage. It was hard to explain how he felt about his ownself at times. The hate ran deep and uselessly so.

She smiles again to him and hugs him tightly. She wished she could do more for him but knew that being only human there would be a limit. She would do all she could for him though she realized.

He moved back to his chair and finished his meal. After putting his plate into the sink he headed off to the shower. He needed to be lone for a few.
